Alex Lifeson attends Foo Fighters show in Toronto last night

UPDATE - 8/12@9:59AM: Here's a bootleg video of the Foo Fighters playing Monkey Wrench from Tuesday's show. At about the 6-minute mark you can make out Dave Grohl mentioning Alex (thanks jw).

Last night the Foo Fighters played a show at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, ON and Alex Lifeson was in attendance, watching the show from the side of the stage. Reader Habs2112 reports that at one point Dave Grohl introduced Alex offstage, although Alex did not come out. Dave got down on his knees and did the I'm not worthy bow when introducing him and jokingly remarked that it was hard to play lead guitar when Alex Lifeson was watching. They then dedicated the Foos' song Cold Day in the Sun to Rush. Taylor Hawkins was also wearing a Rush t-shirt. If anyone has any other details to share, including photos or video, please let us know. Thanks to Habs2112 for the report. Back in 2008 when the Foo Fighters played Toronto, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson made a surprise appearance and performed YYZ with the band (video here).
