Radio call-in interviews tomorrow

Tue, Apr 3, 2007@4:36PM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 4/5@7:57AM: leezgirl mentioned in the comments that Alex will be on WZLX 100.7 in Boston at 8AM tomorrow (Friday) on the Karlson & McMenzie show which airs between 5:30-10AM. They also stream.

UPDATE - 4/4@7:00PM: Geddy was also just interviewed by Chicago radio DJ Zack Tyler on 97.9 The Loop. Kozmo4Rush over at Counterparts said he recorded it and will make it available. Alex was also interviewed this morning on 92 KQRS in Minneapolis and I should have a recording available soon.

UPDATE - 4/4@6:17PM: jkr77 at The Rush Forum has confirmed that Geddy will be interviewed tomorrow morning on Q104.3 in New York. He'll be calling in at either 6:15AM or 7:45AM. They have streaming and the interview will be available for downloading from the station's website afterward.

UPDATE - 4/4@4:10PM: Brad says that Geddy Lee will be interviewed at 5PM EST on KSHE in St. Louis. They also have streaming available.

UPDATE - 4/4@12:59PM: Reader tygr has made available the 107.7 The Bone interview at this link.

UPDATE - 4/4@12:51PM: The WRIF interview is now online here. Many thanks to Counterparts member Snaked for putting this up!

UPDATE - 4/4@11:59AM: Alex is currently up on 107.7 The Bone. And here's a nice little summary of the WRIF interview from John E.

Far Cry was one of the last songs written. Written in a few hours.

S&A was written entirely on Acoustic guitar. This was done so that the essence of the song could be determined immediately and not be hidden behind effects.

Alex had a hard time describing the sound of the record. He said it was fresh but retained elements from their entire history.

Nick wanted them to write 20 songs and pick the best to be recorded. They said "no", they don't work that way. Everything they record is like a child. Do you have 20 kids and just keep the ones you like ?

UPDATE - 4/4@10:39AM: Julie over at Counterparts says that Alex Lifeson will be interviewed on 107.7 The Bone in the Bay Area on the Lamont and Tonelli show sometime this morning.

UPDATE - 4/4@9:56AM: tristar tells us that KKRW 93.7 in Houston will interview Geddy Lee at 9:15AM (10:15AM EST). They also have free streaming. Steven M also tells me that Clevelands 98.5 WNCX will be interviewing Alex Lifeson sometime tomorrow.

UPDATE - 4/4@9:10AM: It looks like we can add 93.3 WMMR to the list. No details yet though. Thanks to brent2112 at Rush Tour for the heads up.

UPDATE - 4/3@11:27PM: Showdonttell25 over at Counterparts says that the KDKB interview will happen tomorrow but ... air at a later date.

UPDATE - 4/3@10:59PM: Lady April from The Rush Forum informs me that Iris Harrison of KGON in Portland will be interviewing Alex and Geddy tomorrow. Her show is from 10AM to 2PM PST (1-5PM EST) and they do have streaming (free registration required).

UPDATE - 4/3@6:26PM: Doug Podell will be doing the interview during the 11AM hour on WRIF in Detroit and the station streams its broadcast.

Snaked over at Counterparts has confirmed that the band (most likely just Geddy and Alex) will be conducting radio phone interviews tomorrow. So far, confirmed stations are 93.3 KDKB in Phoenix (Alex Lifeson interview) and 101 WRIF in Detroit (either Geddy or Alex). If you know of any others, let us know. I'll update the post as I find out about more stations. Hopefully we can get our hands on some recordings.
