After a 2-day delay due to Wednesday's rescheduled show, Rush will be kicking off their 4-show stint at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas tonight. Given the host of surprises we've witnessed over these first 6 shows, we're not going to even attempt to predict the setlist beyond saying there should be a similar distribution of songs over the 4 nights as there were in LA. Meaning that a couple of shows will likely include 2112 in full, at least one full performance of Moving Pictures, and we should see a repeat of Natural Science, A Farewell to Kings and other rarities at some point. The only things likely to remain consistent amongst all the shows is the Xanadu opener, the Working Man closer and the 2 Neil Peart tributes during Bravado and Time Stand Still. They'll play all the hits (Tom Sawyer, The Spirit of Radio, Subdivisions, etc.) at every show too of course, but there's no telling in what order. There's also the question of whether Aimee Mann or some other surprise guest might appear at some point (we're not expecting her at any of these shows, but you never know). On that note, Les Claypool's Claypool Gold tour (a show featuring Primus, Les Claypool's Frog Brigade, and The Claypool Lennon Delirium) played a show in Irving (between Dallas and Fort Worth) last night, with an off-day today before heading to Colorado. Reader RushDude2112 attended that show and reports that Les Claypool at one point quipped about how they'd arranged the tour specifically so they could see Rush perform last night and they go and cancel the show; he did end up having dinner with Alex and Geddy though. Claypool has a show in Colorado tomorrow, so it's likely the band is already on their way out of town, so we likely won't be seeing him make a guest appearance at tonight's show, despite the hopes of some Rush/Primus fans. One item of note regarding the Mexico City shows was the absence of any tourbooks at the merch stands; apparently they didn't have any available at the shows due to production issues. From what we know, the LA tourbooks include tour rehearsal photos and were a one-off exclusive for LA. The standard tourbooks were supposed to include photos from the LA shows, so I imagine the tight timeframe (and possibly issues at the border) caused the delay, and they should (fingers crossed) have them available for tonight's show. For everyone going tonight, have a blast!!
