Rush to play British rock festival show next summer?

Rock/Metal news site Rush on Rock is reporting that Rush is in negotiations to play one of the big British rock festivals next summer as part of their planned tour in support of their forthcoming studio album Clockwork Angels. From the website:

... Blown away by fans’ passion for the their Time Machine shows in the UK this month, the prog rock trio are already planning a swift return to these shores. And the band’s Canadian management company is looking at booking a high profile festival slot for summer 2012. Rush have been approached by the organisers of High Voltage to headline next year’s Victoria Park shindig. And although the newest rock festival on the block would suit the Toronto trio to a tee there is understandable interest from the UK’s big two – Download and Sonisphere. Rush are not known as a festival band but plans are at an advanced stage to book a series of one-off shows next summer. And organisers of the major events in the UK and Europe are lining up to bag what would be the star attraction of the 2012 festival circuit. ...
