[RUSH - Moving Pictures/2112 Classic Albums DVD/Blu Ray Due In September]

UPDATE - 4/19@2:45PM: My source at BW&BK tells me that these will be combined into one DVD.

Eagle Rock Entertainment is the creator of a series of Classic Albums documentary specials where important albums in rock -n- roll history are showcased. I'd first heard a rumor in December of 2008 that Moving Pictures and possibly one or more Rush albums would be getting the Classic Albums treatment. Then a few months ago the Drum Channel posted the following to their Twitter page:

Neil Peart was in the DC Studios again yesterday filming a special on Classic Rush albums for VH1... look for it soon!

Since then I've also confirmed that a few other folks in the Rush camp have been interviewed for this series and that specials covering both Moving Pictures and 2112 are currently in production. Now BW&BK is reporting a September release date for both DVDs:

Eagle Vision has confirmed a September release date for the Classic Albums DVD/Blu Ray release of RUSH's legendary Moving Pictures and 2112 albums. The video goes into the studio with singer/bassist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson and drummer Neil Peart, along with producers for interviews and rare performances of material that shaped the band's career such as 'Tom Sawyer', 'YYZ', 'Limelight' and '2112'. ...

It's not yet clear whether these will be released as 2 separate DVDs - one for each album - or some kind of combined release.
