the 3rd and final show on my own Rush tour. i came from Australia to see this and only dreamed of getting a t shirt fired from the cannons.
Neil reloaded and shot it my way and it landed in the aisle just up from me.
it seemed like no one saw as 2 shirts lay lifelessly for what seemed an eternity as i scampered up the steps and saw a dude casually walk over to it i dived fully in the air and skidded into where a split second before was a "special" reminder of my expensive trip. People were laughing at my efforts though i was just GUTTED!. i came so close. When i asked the dude if i could buy it for $100 he scoffed at me. you didnt have to be so rude. So to that fat old c**t that i could see, couldnt really care less,... i wish you well. its all i can do.

Was it worth the thousands i spent?... F**k yes!

Good catch, tnunn007! Finally someone else who was aware of the beautiful night in Atlanta that went along with the great show. I got really fed up with some folks on a different Rush fan web site who were complaining about their sound system, songs being swapped out from the playlist, etc. I enjoyed everything, as I do each time I see them....only 4 times. Saw them this tour in Indianapolis too. Very good. Can't wait to hear of the 2013 tour when they return from Europe.

They continue to get better with age. I really enjoyed hearing the String Ensemble on Dreamline and YYZ. One of the coolest moments was a rising Gibbous moon with Jupiter as a bright star sitting above the moon. During Dreamline, the moon and Jupiter conjunction was visible at the rear of the amphitheater.

SHOW DAY!!!! What is up metro Atlanta, where is the chatter?

Originally not blown away by the 80s set list, but I've changed my tune. I got into Rush in the early-mid 80s and the set will be a fantastic trip down memory lane for me. It should be good. Have never seen/heard Middletown Dreams live, nor Territories, Grand Designs either. Middletown and Analog Kids are way up on my personal favorite list of 80s Rush songs, it will be surreal to stand there ten rows from Lifeson during this set.

See you at the show.

#43 Most likely this venue is chosen by the band and/or management because a) Lakewood/Aarons is a complete dump, and Rush has sold this venue well the past two tours. Remember, the Snakes tour OPENED at Lakewood and they have never been back. Verizon in Alpharetta is a far far nicer venue. Safer, easier to access, just cannot lose here. I was hoping they played there or Gwinnett Arena(if they were to play indoors) (much closer for me personally). Not sure why not playing at Phillips, must be scheduling?

yes, it appear it will be chilly. The band is Canadian, so I think they won't mind. The good news is that tomorrow and Thursday are forecast to be less windy and much less cloudy. This should help keep the temp up a bit. No worries, it will rock under the pavillion. If the temp is too low, I'd worry about sound quality in the lawn, but this is a quality venue and I have never had a sound complaint about the lawn and faraway sections.

Let's do this, headlong into mystery...

Ha ha GE Filter, I hear ya loud and clear and can't agree with you more! I'll be in Parking Lot A enjoying some BB&G myself before the show!

Seen a number of shows at Phillips and glad it is not there. I do like the convenience of staying at the Omni but Verizon is ideal for me. The accoustics at Verizon are great and the screens have room to catch the entire picture. I do admit being a tad cold will play a role but antifreeze will be a plenty. I also like the ability to travel the Passage to Bangkok in an outdoor setting as opposed to the confinement of Phillips. Gonna be a blast! Bubba's Bar and Grill before and after along with Bangkok's best!

Agreed Heatmiser.

The other option (and where they played during the VT Tour) was Phillips Arena. I'm still dumbfounded as to why the promoter didn't book at venue. This promoter booked the ATL show only for this tour. Maybe there was a scheduling conflict with the arena and I'll have to look.

This amphitheater was designed for the ASO, so it has far better acoustics than the dump at Lakewood. The new Gwinnett arena has been getting some good acts, but it is not very convenient from many parts of the city. The TM show at Verizon was nearly sold out and I just got word from TicketBastard that this show is sold out now.

Agreed GE Filter. I'll be on Alex's side as well, section 102 row S and can't wait for the master either... all three of them! This will be my 20th Rush show since the HYF Tour and I'm bringing a work friends who has never seen them before but is so excited for the show.

See you there and enjoy!

During TM Tour it rained right at the end. Cannot get cold enough to damper excitement about Thursday night. Quite certain the boys will be ready to heat up Verizon and rock the place. Looks like Set B for Atlanta and wondering if Limelight is getting thrown in. They can play anything and I will be ready. Sitting/standing on Alex's side and ready to see the master light it up. Would love to hear Manhatten Project if possible. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Can't wait for the show Thursday night but it's going to be a chilly one! I'm not really sure why the ATL promoter chose the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater since this time of year in ATL, the weather can be hit or miss. Unfortunately with Hurricane Sandy hitting the northeast seaboard, it's making Atlanta rather cold and extremely windy.

The current weather report indicates the temps during the show will be in the mid to upper 40sF. No rain thankfully but just simply cold. I hope it doesn't affect how the boys play that night.
