UPDATE - 2/1@10:48AM: Chicago WLUP pre-sale password is LOOPRUSH.

UPDATE - 2/1@8:16AM: Reader Felix R sent me this scan of an advertisement from a local newspaper that confirms that tickets for the Coliseo de Puerto Rico show do indeed go on sale tomorrow and will be through TicketPop. There's still nothing on the TicketPop site regarding the event yet, but it should be up there by this afternoon.

UPDATE - 1/31@11:16PM: Reader windycitygirl reports that to get the Chicago WLUP-sponsored pre-sale password go to WLUP.com at 10AM tomorrow and click on Band of the Day.

UPDATE - 1/31@11:03PM: Nokia Theater pre-sale password is SNAKES (thanks mdingel).

UPDATE - 1/31@10:22PM: Manchester radio pre-sale is sponsored by ROCK 101 and the password is LUMPA (thanks tragedy32).

UPDATE - 1/31@10:16PM: Albuquerque pre-sale password is 94ROCK (thanks soozm32).

The 2nd round of Music Today fan pre-sales is now complete although several AMEX presales are ongoing and will continue through tomorrow for Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando, Albuquerque, Los Angeles, Irvine, Chicago, Boston, Manchester, PNC Bank Center and Jones Beach. Remember, for the AMEX pre-sales the password is just the customer service 800 number (8003272177) on the back of your Gold Card.

A pre-sale sponsored by concert promoter Fantasma for the April 17th Jacksonville show is also ongoing and will continue through 5PM tomorrow. To find tickets go to this link and use the password ARROWS.

Several radio-sponsored pre-sales will also be happening tomorrow for the dates in Albuquerque (94 Rock), Los Angeles (KLOS), Irvine, Chicago (WLUP) and Manchester. Check the tour section for details. I don't have passwords for these pre-sales yet but I'm working on it and will hopefully have them before tomorrow. If anyone has them, please let me know.

Tickets for the opening night show in Puerto Rico went on pre-sale earlier this week through Music Today, but the status of regular ticket sales is still a bit fuzzy. The last I'd heard was that tickets were to go on sale to the general public this Saturday. TicketPop.com handles ticket sales for the Coliseo de Puerto Rico but they do not currently have the event listed. If anyone has any information please let us know.

Regular tickets for the following shows will go on sale this coming Saturday, February 2nd through Ticketmaster:

Apr. 15: Amway Arena - Orlando info
Apr. 13: BankAtlantic Center - Sunrise info
Apr. 17: Jacksonville Arena - Jacksonville info
Apr. 29: Journal Pavilion - Albuquerque info
Jun. 9: United Center - Chicago info
Jun. 15: Tweeter Center - Mansfield info
Jun. 27: Marcus Amphitheater Summerfest - Milwaukee info
Jul. 11: Verizon Wireless Arena - Manchester info
Jul. 12: PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel info
Jul. 14: Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh info

Just a quick note/reminder that all times given on this site and Ticketmaster are LOCAL to the venue. This always seems to be a point of confusion to some folks.

I've had several of you email me regarding information on Canadian ticket sales. Unfortunately at this point I don't know any more than you do. None of the Canadian venues even have the show listed. For the last leg, pre-sales for Canadian dates all occurred at the same time and were sponsored by Music Today but actually run through Ticketmaster. Check out this post and this post to see how it went. I can only assume that it'll follow a similar pattern this time around. I'll try to find out more though.

I also unfortunately don't have any further information on Mexican and South American dates. Like I said before though, no news is good news. I'll be sure to post anything that I learn.

You may have noticed this by now, especially if you live near Dallas, but the Smirnoff Centre has had a name change; it's now the Superpages.com Center. Whatever. Is it just me or does that just sound plain stupid? :) One of these days I hope to open a Rushisaband.com Center; I will book no acts but Rush and free beer for everyone.

I found this interesting article over at Counterparts courtesy user 18% Gray. It talks about how ticket brokers employ automated bots to manipulate online ticketing systems. It may give you a little more sympathy for why Ticketmaster has so many restrictions in place (image verification, limited number of refreshs, etc.). It's pretty much all to keep out automated ticket bots. It's a very interesting read.

Reader malterb let me know that the official site for Summerfest in Milwaukee (which Rush will headline on June 27th) has our boys featured front and center on their home page. Very nice.

Reader RicoRoq pointed out that Rush's June 5th show at Red Rocks will be the 25th anniversary of U2's famous performance there. U2 released two tracks from a Red Rocks concert on June 5, 1983 on their 1983 live album, Under a Blood Red Sky and a full concert-length video of the same appearance, segments of which were frequently shown on MTV. Neil Peart mentions in one of his books that this video is what made Rush want to someday play Red Rocks. Speaking of Red Rocks, the rumor about them adding a second show there is still just that - a rumor.

And as a reminder, Music Today has graciously offered to run a promotion exclusively for Rush Is A Band readers - just like on the last leg. Three lucky readers will be randomly picked to receive a Limited-Edition Rush T-Shirt. To enter the Rush Is A Band T-Shirt Giveaway, email the following information to riabbiggestfanzz@aol.com.

* First and Last Name
* T Shirt Size
* Age
* Mailing Address
* Phone Number

Email entries will be accepted until Friday, February 29th. Winners will be picked and notified by Music Today the week of March 4th - March 8th. A big thanks to Music Today for doing this again - it was a big success on the 2007 leg.

That's all for now. I should have some more non-tour-related updates tommorrow.
