[Rock memorabilia auction to benefit kids]

Mark Petrocelli is the national salesman for Houston-based drumstick company Pro-Mark, who supplies Neil Peart with drumsticks. A high school classmate of his, Paula (Lockhart) Lanz, was tragically murdered early last month by her estranged husband leaving her two children, ages 2 and 5, without a caretaker. Mrs. Lanz's highschool class set up a fund for the children and Mr. Petrocelli decided to use his industry connections to help out by organizing an online celebrity auction. The auction will take place on eBay.com starting March 16 (tomorrow) and running through the 26th. The auction can be located by going to eBay, clicking the advance search button and typing in SMPMUSIC04 to the find by seller field (nothing is currently up - items should appear starting tomorrow). The auction will include memorabilia from current and former members of several well-known rock acts including Neil Peart. Donations can also be made at any branch or sent to: Lanz Children Fund, c/o PNC Bank, U.S. Steel Tower, 600 Grant St., Pittsburgh 15219. Thanks to reader D for the heads up.
