Is the chicken done yet? Major monkey business...Subdivisions...and an amazing Witch Hunt...Alex started the show with a wide grin and smiled the entire night...even Neil had two almost smiles, one during the beginning of Limelight, another one during the big band part of the drum solo, and a full smile after Passage...Geddy was an imp as usual...visuals galore, lasers galore...crowd thoroughly enjoying every note...Natural Science was one of many highlights...even if you are not a fan of Snakes and Arrows, I really like S & A, the visuals with get you through the beginning of ACT II...although Far Cry and Working Them Angels come off really heavy live...Spindrift too...Free Will had a blistering Alex solo...Entre Nous, Between the Wheels, and Dreamline simply rock...I have never liked Mission, but I must say I did like it live...crowd did too...four words....Alex. Geddy. Neil. Rush...Rush to rush for a rush...yes, Summertime Blues returned...I would have preferred Distance Early Warning, but they seemed to enjoy playing the Blues...

Really great show. Disappointed only in that they swapped back in Summertime Blues instead of Distant Early Warning - I got the sense that they were running behind and therefore made the decision to go with the shorter song, although maybe they will be alternating the songs going forward.
Tweeter is a really great place to see a show - I was nearly dead center stage in Section 102, Row V - very happy with the seats - nothing will beat the last show when I was able to watch two songs from the pit in front of Alex.

In terms of the new songs, Spindrift should be dropped - all the others I thought worked well live. Of course, there are always songs that should have been played that weren't. As much as I love both Natural Science and Between the Wheels, they should have have been replaced this tour (they were both played in '05) with other songs from the vault.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The show was awesome, awesome crowd, no Distant Early Warning, Neil Messed up a few times, annnnnd I, in my opinion think that ONE Little Victory should be cut! Started off bad and Neil Messed it up going back to a verse, since it was all a blur... THE SHOW WAS AWESOME, THE DRUM SOLO WAS AWESOME, AND MY WHOLE NIGHT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#5 - Posted 07/07/2007 1:11 AM by Unobtrusive Companion
I enjoyed every note they played, every word they sang. I can't believe it is over already. To everyone going to see Rush the rest of this tour, enjoy it! Like Geddy said, I hope to see them again soon sometime, somewhere!
Show went by so fast!!! We were in 102 row J, great view!
Can't add too much other than AWESOME SHOW!! Loved all the new stuff as well as the classics. Show topper for us??
My kids (son 10 is learning the drums, daughter 12 is a bass player, gettin' good!) made a banner "Mr. Gump-can we trade?" and had a set of my son's Promark sticks stuck to it. They also added the 'Chick Fillet' motto on the bottom "Eat Mor Chikin" During the intermission, Lorne came out and gave my son a set of Neil's used sticks. I think he's sleeping with them now :)
Also-the CROWD was a real pleasure too. Nice folks all around us. Saw several people laughing and smiling at my son 'air drumming' along with Neil.'
Talk about memories...they DO last forever!

WOW!! My 36th Rush show and I must say it was one of the best I've ever seen. As commented earlier, yes, Neil kinda fell asleep during OLV but overall outstanding!! Great seats too. Front row on Alex's side. He was havin' a blast all show! He had a lot of fun with the crowd and held his guitar upside down to reveal a hand written sign reading "Wake up darling" which he aimed at a girl in the 2nd row who was sitting down through most of the show. Great crowd too, very energetic. 3 down, 4 to go this time around. Enjoy everyone!

#6 I found out how great Rush fans can be, especially with kids. We took my 6 year old to Scranton and the people there were great with him, giving him high fives on the way in, The people in front of us let him stand on their seatbacks and lean on their shouders and there were many other "little" things that really meant so much to us.
For my 6yo, these memories will last forever!
Glad you had a great time!!!
We will be seeing everyone at PNC tomorrow!!

A Rush show is awesome for any kid. We took our son (15) to his first concert ever at Scranton (noticied alot of younger kids there). We had a blast watching him drink in the whole experience. The lady behind me said to me, "You know, I really love Rush, but I'm having the greatest time just watching your son!" Other people around us were giving him the thumbs up at his air drumming and guitarring all night. Rush fans are the coolest!

The show last night was very good. Alex wrote a message on the back of his guitar (on some white tape). It was directed to a girl sitting next to me (literally) who really didnt care to be at the concert. She was sitting down some of the time (in 3rd row!). During Summertime Blues, he walked up to the edge of the stage and flipped the guitar over. It said "Wake up darlin'".
She laughed and stood up. He mouthed "thank you" to her and later handed her the tape with the message. It was very cool.
The crowd was ok and the security was super tight. The venue is a nightmare to get out of (like so many others). Next time, I'll do Bristow and Scranton instead of Bristow and Camden. One wrong turn in Camden and its bad news.
No other big surprises but Geddy was very animated. I just wish he visited the left side of the stage more often.
The sound was too bassy for my tastes but it may have just been related to where we were seated.

I thought the show was flawless. The video during the Main Monkey Business really made me laugh. I was glad to see that Geddy brought back the Ric for A Passage to Bangkok. I loved the pyro stuff during the beginning of Witch Hunt.
My two buddies and I brought our lawn chairs and and sat in front of the gate where the band came in. We just missed Neil who came in on motor cycle. We also saw Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater go back stage. The band came in about two hours after Neil had already arrived and we got to see Geddy and Alex get out of their cars and grab stuff from the trunk.

The performance last night (Camden) was spot on! Geddy hit notes that I did not know he was capable of still hitting. Alexs solos were just note for note perfect. Do I really need to tell you the drum solo was fantastic? You know it was! The sound could have been better but this is my constant complaint about Tweeter in Camden. In 22 Rush shows, I have never encountered a rude audience member, but I did last night and I was surprised. A few folks made it very hard to see the stage and in spite of our pleads, they would not oblige us. Ah well. We were thrilled to be there and I really think it was the best show I have (sort of) seen in a long time. It great to see Geddy get the Rick out for Bangkok. Nice touch!

Being a Rickenbacker owner (just like Geddy) it was awesome that he used it again, albeit for 1 song! They were great as usual and the old stuff (Circumstances, Freewill) was a great touch. I would have preferred to hear Cinderella Man over Circumstances, but guess that is for the next show. Going to PNC tomorrow to see them again, making it the 37 show...and it's my birthday tomorrow!

I really enjoyed this performance. Everything about the show was excellent. Snakes And Arrows is a great release and having them supporting it with so many songs live was super. A+++ to this show!

Great show all around!!! Had front row on Alex's side with my main man boneroller. It was my 37th show and DEFINITELY one for the ages!!! Security was tight but in a good way and this show blew away Jones Beach (which was no sleeper either!)Yeah, I wish they'd ditch Summertime Blues but they did look like they enjoyed that one and Neil made a very rare screw up during OLV. I'm still pumped up about the show and it's 24 hours later! I hope tomorrow at PNC is just as good!!! See you all there!!!

Yes, an absolutely fantastic show on a beautiful night, one of my top two favorites in 25 years of seeing my favorite band ever (tied with my first experience in the early 80's)! I was struck by how many more women and children were in the audience this time -- that was great to see. Rush played extremely well, extremely tight. Neil seemed even more focused than usual -- almost like he was putting on a clinic -- and my wife, attending her first-ever Rush show, was impressed. Maybe it was just how close we were, but I was stunned by Geddy's full-contact bass attack, as well as Alex's oft-overlooked technical brilliance. Geddy's cheery and funny stage presence is always delightful, too.
I could really tell the real Rush fans from the also-rans -- the in-crowd was characteristically cheery and spoke the language. The jerk behind me was definitely a non-real fan: braying like a mule through some of the most beautiful guitar passages so I could barely hear. Then, when my brother caught the t-shirt Geddy threw out, (woo-hoo!) the meathead offered to buy it, and when my bro (understandably) refused, he became abusive and wouldn't back off. (To paraphrase Budweiser: "Hey goofball, why buy a souvenir when you could fight for one?!") Anyway, he was unsuccessful in ruining an unbelievable Evening With Rush! Can't wait (and fervently hope for) another Big Tour when the boys are ready! All you who have shows coming up -- you're in for an amazing treat!

To use Neil's terms, it was a 'Magic' show!!
I'm still glowing. Son slept with the sticks :) he's still so excited!
Thanks for all the kind words folks, Rush fans rock!

Went to the Camden show on a whim. I just cant get enough. Witch Hunt and Circumstances are my top 2. Geddys voice sounds amazing and his bass playing is off the hook. Alex is having a blast and Neil is, as always, flawless and focused. Can't wait for the two shows out in the midwest with my brother! Ive only seen east coast shows. Chicago and St. Paul should be wild. Then wrapping it all up with MSG! I hope for the second leg we get Territories or Chemistry for substitutions. But I aint complanin! They could play Hot Cross Buns and Id still lose it! Subdivisions has been super strong and Between the Wheels is always a favorite. Mal Nar and TMMB were out of control!! Really highlights each of their musicianship, then again, so does every note they play! Im loving Spindrift personally, I think its a great tune. The Larger Bowl was really tight last night too. I just love the entire experience of a Rush show. You get to meet cool people and listen to and watch the greatest musicians/performers of all time. Im making some beautiful memories!

One more comment. Bassnyc1 and I were discussing the setlist on the way to the show and I had mentioned that I could've done w/o Natural Science this time since the novelty had worn off. It had been on my wish forever and when it was finally played on T4E I was so happy. Then they did it again on VT and now again. Well, after last night's show, I leaned over and said, "Okay, I take that back." It friggin' rocked!!

Boneroller, dude upload some of the pics you got, any of them.
I agree with you on NS. Just wish they'd cut the 2nd 'wheels within wheels...' part and put back in the part they did cut. Don't understand that.

Great show as usual. I'm really impressed and amazed that these guys never show signs of aging in terms of their musical chops. Really amazing and very enjoyable stuff.
Before the show, my wife (always a reluctant, but loyal companion for Rush shows) and I were in the parking lot tail-gaiting. Watching the parade of people heading for the venue, I was struck by how nerdy and eccentric-looking the crowd was. I mean, I know we Rush fanatics are different, but I didn't realize how strange we look. Some of us are real freaks, people. At any rate, when Geddy first addressed the crowd, he mentioned that it was a large and energetic crowd and he was grateful for that, but then he added "and a very attractive looking group as well!", which was obviously sarcastic. But then coming from him...
So for the show, we sat right at the front of section 202 immediately next to the sound and lighting crew's control boards. Needless to say, the mix was ideal from that vantage point. I could very clearly make out all the critical bass lines and riffs as well as all of the details of the guitar solos. It doesn't get any better than than. And needless to say, not matter how long it lasts, Neil's solos alone are worth the price of admission.
But the absolute highlight of the night for me came just after the show ended and the lights came up. I leaned over towards some of the crew people and I asked them if they could point out any crew members whose name a long-time Rush fan should know. The guy who heard my request was a younger guy, who probably was an employee of the Tweeter Center, not a Rush crewmember. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders and said "I don't know."
So then I said, "come on, there must be either a Liam Birt or a Howard Ungerleider around here somewhere!". At that, one of the other guys in the booth pointed up toward the back of the control area and said "that's Howard in the black shirt right there."
I ran around the back (my kind wife waiting patiently) and I met Howard friggin' Ungerleider!! I told him how great it was being a Rush fan and how much I've enjoyed all the tours since Grace Under Pressure (my first rock concert ever). I shook his hand and thanked him for all the great work he's done with the band, and his face just lit up with the biggest smile. He was so happy to hear from an appreciative fan. My wife may have actually gotten a picture of us talking; I'll have to check. BUt I just wanted to share this with others here, who may be just as much of a Rush-nerd as I. Only a true Rush freak would appreciate the beauty of meeting and personally thanking HU.
