Woo Hoo! First to Post!!!

Anyway.I'm wondering if they'd have a 3rd round of presales, as my Ottawa show isn't up there. The local radio station is giving away tickets, but Idon't seem to have much luck there...

Nothing good left in Tampa in the regular sale. All 200 section and above.

Still holding out hope for a single OR-level ticket, but glad I got the one I did at the presale.

OK, gang (& Ed):

I'll be in Section 33 at Blossom on Aug. 30 with my son and my friend. Not awesome tickets, but very respectable, especially for the price: $60 (face).

Section 33 is Geddy-side, 3rd of 4 sections under the roof. Got 2nd to last row for Steely Dan in 2000 and that was plenty good. No complaints.

Took all of five minutes.

Ed, my offer of a large beer still stands. (Made it under the name 'Greg'.)

26th Indianapolis IN Verizon Wireless Music Center
28th Detroit MI DTE Energy Music Theatre

I'm glad I got lucky with getting good seats through the pre-sale for the PNC show at Holmdel. I figured I would see if I could better seats the morning and so far, the only thing that came up available (only once) for the first level was Row U, "obstructed view" seats. After that, nothing available on the 1st level.
#6 - Posted 3/31/07 @10:33AM by Mad Immortal Man [contact]

Well, I now have two separate single seats for PNC. lol I was able to get a much closer single seat today (Row C of the second tier, Alex's side) than during the pre-sale.

The other seat's all right, I guess. In the 300 level, dead center, a few rows back from the sound board. Actually, that seat might have better sound, hmmm ...
#7 - Posted 3/31/07 @10:39AM by mrdriven [contact]

ticketmaster stinks!

tried to get tickets to a few shows and their system won't let you do that....also if you refresh the screen too many times they shut down your site access for a few minutes. I guess the ticket scalpers will continue to win at this game in getting good seats.

The presale for the 26th at Noblesville, Indiana is on the 10th I thought. Hmm time to go check it out.
#9 - Posted 3/31/07 @10:51AM by Vic [contact]

I know a lot of people had trouble with the presale, but thank god for the presale. Getting a decent ticket at Camden was impossible today. I'm going with friends to Blossom & Charlotte (got tix thru the presales), so tried to score just 1 in the pit or as close as i could get today at 10am- thought i had a ghost of a chance. Nothing doing. Luckily i rolled the bones and scored sec 104 row F (Lerxst's side) in yesterdays Camden radio presale. Whew!! Couldn't get close to that today. Buying tickets is so stressful..

Here's hoping everyone got at least decent seating (or pitting) to the cities they were trying for..

Salt Lake City, Utah, tickets also go on sale today at 10 AM, through Smith's Tix:

Got mine for Bristow VA. Add on fees $18 total I think is a ripoff.

Oh well, I'm going!

I spent alot of time at the computer this week looking for tickets to Phoenix and between the Rush pre-sale and the TicketBastard pre-sale I did not pull up even 1 set of tickets in any of the 100 sections at either time...It was a total pain in the ass and I am extremely disappointed...

I am going to try again at the general on sale but at this point I have to figure that I willl be paying out the ass to a broker or a scalper...The fact that I am planning on going to Vegas and San Diego as well leads me to believe thatI am either going to pay thru the nose or wind up with shitty seats barring a miracle...

I really think the whole pre-sale / Ticketmaster / Scalper situation is out of control and totally the fucks the hard core fans out of the best seats...

I really think the musicians need to get involved....If you were playing a gig who would you want in the first 20 rows? A bunch of corporate logo golf shirt wearing ex-fratboy fucksticks screaming ""Tom Sawyer" all night or the crazies that have followed you everywhere for 20+ years and bring the passion and the energy every night???

This sucks....
#13 - Posted 3/31/07 @11:50AM by aelon2112 [contact]

I was on ticketmaster at 10:00 on the dot and the best I got was section 6 row R!!!! (Verizon Amphitheater - Charlotte, NC) I agree with you, K.K. This sucks the big one. I didn't get paid until yesterday so I was pretty much screwed as far as the pre-sale crap. Oh well, Rush is Rush, and I guess seeing them from crappy seats is better than not seeing them at all!
#14 - Posted 3/31/07 @11:53AM by Kurt [contact]

Sometimes you're just better off when the regular sale date is. The Pre-sale doesn't mean the best seats get sold. Heck I think they do it to drum up more business, and to get a sense of how the regular sale will go. It's depressing, but its still better than camping out all night like I used to. I can bitch now from the comfy couch.

SLC show is NOT sold out. I just tried and got two tickets in sectioni 305, row C (seats 11-12). You might think that the most expensive seats are sold out, but even that is doubtful. Given my recent experience with the presale, and past experiences, keep trying and something will likely open up.

Still, I'm glad for the presale, since it *does* seem difficult to get better seats now. I am just checking to see if I can get an upgrade, but so far no dice.

I ordered tickets for Raleigh in the last 1/2 hour of the radio presale. (why I didn't do it during the fan presale I don't know) I got Section 6, Row L. Thats two rows back of the VIP boxes, and the seat numbers are nearly dead-center.

Hi guys & gals... this is Angel from Lima, Peru.

Absolutely no luck... neither in the Pre Sale nor in the Ticketmaster sale this morning... I agree with all who've said that the sales system SUCKS! Even though I have a T1 connection here, I kept getting tickets out in the sticks at each venue I tried...

I'm trying to get tickets to 4 shows: to Tampa & WPB (one plane ride, from Lima to Miami), and to Dallas & Houston (second plane ride, in August to Texas)

The interesting part is that I am afraid of flying... but I couldn't live with myself if I didn't see Rush live as much as possible. I'm a fan since 1982 (Subdivisions lured me in immediately), but since I live in Peru, I have only seen the band 3 times in the last 25 years... :(

So now, I guess I'll have to try some of the ticket sites. I've seen second/third row center stage tickets for $750 each... and am thinking of going the whole nine yards and getting those for 4 shows... which is about $3000 just in tickets, plus about $2000 more in airfare, lodging, etc.

My question to all: are 4 Rush shows worth over $5000?

Feedback will be most welcome...

ANGEL

Right there with you, KK. I just got on to purchase a single ticket for my cousin to the Houston show; btw, I still have 3 seats in Row Z (front section) and 2 seats in Row PP (second section) from my pre-sale freakout; I figured I had a better likelihood of selling mine if I didn't break them up into singles, and my cuz wanted to be nearer the center anyway.

I was on Ticketmaster for an hour and a half; not a good experience. At one point, the "best available" single was a lawn seat!!

Anyway, I filled out their little "How Are We Doing?" survey (with a bunch of crap information, of course - it's not their business how much $ I make a year, if I'm married or divorced, how many times a week I have sex, etc), but I did fill out the comments part truthfully:

"I don't know how many times I was hindered by typing the encrypted letters, which were often too encrypted to read, and there's nothing wrong with my eyesight. I understand the importance of this security feature, but there are much more user-friendly formats available (I see them all over other sites on the web) you could use that don't punish legitimate customers)

1 minute is not enough time to type in your name, address, etc. I lost my first ticket because my email address is long and I didn't make it in 1 minute.

Most importantly, why is it that the only way to score pit tickets is to pay an exorbitant amount for each one via an auction? Most normal people simply cannot afford $250 for a ticket, no matter how much they like a certain artist. And exactly who is benefitting from the proceeds of these auctions? If it's Ticketmaster, then you people should be ashamed of yourselves."

I wanted to be much meaner, but I was just too tired from throwing back piece of crap tickets for 90 minutes.

Keep Rushin' on anyway. . . Any Rush is good Rush.

LAHI LIHI (I think that's Hawaiian for "Screw Ticket Bastard")

Pat,

Glad you got tix. I was on hold for 15 minutes + trying online (got nothing)...when the call rep came on she said all 100,200 and 300 tix were gone. BUT looks like that was bad info...bully for you, bummer for me.
#25 - Posted 3/31/07 @12:58PM by viking [contact]

...and i just tried online, now getting 300 level seats. phone reps suck
#26 - Posted 3/31/07 @1:02PM by Vic [contact]

Yeah GeddyGirl, the verification code ticketbastard uses can be so hard to read sometimes I had to try two or 3 times to get past it- is that a 4 or a Y??

Speaking of tickethassler, they have a new group photo up I'd never seen before.
#27 - Posted 3/31/07 @1:38PM by jediyyz [contact]

Well I did learn something today...regular ticket sales stink too!!!! I wanted to get 2 tickets for Red Rocks for my brother(attempt to upgrade the ones I got him yesterday)...forget it! Right away as I got passed the ridiculous looking code letters(at least Eds looks like a letter!!)I had a 12 min. wait...this wait time kept going up and down until finally my answer was revealed..."no available tickets match your request"...I kept tying but did no better!!
I agree G.G. it's not fun at all!! Even tried an hour later to test that theory...nothing!!!
I mentioned my disgust with the ticketmaster auction seats as well...who profits?!

My new goal?...."trying to find the mode...crack the code"
#28 - Posted 3/31/07 @1:42PM by Spindrifter [contact]

Woke up bright and early then headed through the fog to Ticketmaster. Here in Washington, we havent had fog like it is today in a few years.

We were 2nd in line to only learn that our time wasted to picking numbers to order the line! Such 'Bullish'! Got to be the 3rd to get tickets!

Anyway and anyho... Who gives a rats a**!

I got tickets the good old fashion way! We are Sec 206 and row 29. Its just me and my oldest son going. To me, thats 'priceless' enough! And yet, of course, I am dead center of the stage once again!

PLS NOTE : That I asked the manager about doing the 'Upgrades' as mentioned earlier this week and she had no idea what I was talking about!

111 days till the White River Show!

And todays lucky number is 31. 31 days till 'S&A' my friends!
#29 - Posted 3/31/07 @1:50PM by Spindrifter [contact]

GG & JED.... Am sorry about the whole tix mess that you and everybody else are and have gone through.

After hearing all of these 'horror stories' of being locked out, the codes (Eds letters may be fun. But, they are easier to read) and the chances of either system crashing. It just sounded like way too much of a risk to me. Thats why I just went to 'TicketSlasher' myself!

Did you guys get tixs?

GG ~ You did say that you were taking your 2 year old son. Did you get the lawn tixs?
#30 - Posted 3/31/07 @1:56PM by jediyyz [contact]

I'm glad you're happy Spin...have a cold one and celebrate the moment!!! Your right, nothing like experiencing Rush with your own kids...passing on the legacy so to speak!! Especially when they appreciate not only the band, but your efforts as a parent! I for one salute you!!!
Try this beer if you can find it in the great northwest...Blue Moon...after all "some need to howl at the midwinter moon"

Saturday, 10am sharp - Miraculously scored 2 tix in section 102 Row 3 at White River in WA. Much better than I saw during the pre-sale. Reverse is true for Clark County (Portland show). Only got 200 section - but center, so that's okay. And I needed 5 to that show, but could only buy 4x online. Yet they say right on the page there is an 8 ticket limit per person. What's up with that? Wow, so much to look forward to. I have to go listen to Far Cry again!
#32 - Posted 3/31/07 @2:08PM by adlhaggis [contact]

Well got O.K. tickets to Raliegh,Pittsburgh,Cleveland. Tried to upgrade but I guess I am locked out. Ticketmaster.com will not load. I know I wasn't typing that fast!
#33 - Posted 3/31/07 @2:32PM by DazeChain [contact]

Longtime Rush head...that's me...

Seen Rush for the first time on their Roll the Bones tour...miss'd the Counterparts tour...have seen every tour since...Test for Echo, Vapor Trails and 30th anniversary tour...on the Test n' Vapor tours...I was fortunate enuf to see them twice...Las Vegas n' Denver on the Test tour...and Denver and Ames, Iowa on the vapor tour...
Suffice to say...Rush indeed holds a special part of my existance hostage when I know they will be hittin' the
road again...so upon the news of this tour...I was all over stayin' on top of updates on tour itinerary and on-sale dates...
It seems like ticketmaster could certainly be alot more user-friendly without having to try much harder...there are some definite drawbacks to orderin' online...I despise the timed windows of opportunity to get your info typed in...I was lucky yesterday(friday) cuz' I had plan'd on waitin' to order tixs for Red Rocks performance 'til today...however, while at the library computer yesterday I realized that upon coming here to this blog page that farcry was the password to presales...I was like yes!...So I made tracks to tixmaster poste haste...and wound up with tixs in row 36...36 out of 69 possible rows...and our seats fall just a few seats off dead center in the row...so essentially I was pleased...had hoped for closer seats for the most expensive price level I had chosen which btw was 95.50 for the tix, and after the extra charges wound up being 'round 112.00 per tix...there were 3 price levels for this all reserved seats show...

So I get on ticketmaster today just to see how fast n' furiously they would be goin' out the window during this first day of on-sale to the general public...and by 10:30 a.m. mdt...the pickin's were gettin' slim...in fact...I could only get singles to come up in the middle price level...so I would imagine Red Rocks will post a sell-out for this Rush show...maybe a second night???...Keep in mind...Rush only play'd Red Rocks for the first time in their careers on the 30th anniv. tour in 2004...maybe they will add a night...we'll see...cheers rushheads...see ya' at Red Rocks!

p.s. I think Rush said it best in one of Neil's lyrics from the song "Big Money"

...big money got a mean streak...
...big money got no soul...

ticketmaster's theme song (note *deep sarcasm*)...ha!

Hi guys, new here, I got 6th row at Blossom Music Center using the pre-sale, I'm more than a little HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sec 14 row F!!!! Now I just need 5 Months to pass quickly....
#35 - Posted 3/31/07 @2:33PM by Fiat [contact]

Sad fact of the matter is that in order to even have a shot at getting a decent seat, you have to be willing to break up your posse and go solo. Sucks.

They need to make it first come first serve start in the center front row and work it out. But we all know what a pipe dream that is.
#36 - Posted 3/31/07 @2:33PM by GeddyGirl [contact]

Spin,

Still not sure if we're flying to the reunion so we can get back early enough for the other 2 shows. When we decide, we may just show up there the day of the show and buy lawn tickets; that's what we've done for the last two Selma shows with no trouble. I'd love to buy actual seats and then sit on the lawn if the kiddo gets "disruptive", but can't see spending all that $ to just end up in the grass.
PLUS, to top it all off, the hubby got laid off Wednesday, so the cash situation is something to consider, too (don't get me wrong - it always WAS a consideration, but moreso now.)

Here's to all those who got "COBROVUC"ked by Ticketmaster.
#37 - Posted 3/31/07 @2:48PM by nobodys hero [contact]

I thought the pre-sales sucked and I was pretty bummed but then I heard a contest for Rush tix thru a local radio station. I actuall WON. I NEVER win anything. I got 2nd row seats to Red Rocks. My birthday is in a few days and it is the best present ever! I've seen Rush since 2112 and the closest I've ever been is 7th row. I also got tix this morning for Utah in section 203. I'm not familiar with this venue at all but on the seating chart I printed the seats look ok.
I hope they do another show at Red Rocks. I know a lot of people who were disappointed in seat choices if they got seats at all.
#38 - Posted 3/31/07 @2:54PM by rushinwa07 [contact]

So I Went to a ticketmaster outlet near my house and was first in line...there was only one guy behind me and he got
section 202.
The best tickets I could score for White River were section 102 row 12. My wife was also trying for me on the web. 15-20 min couutes later she gets section 104 row 6. Go figure! So I have two extra rush tickets in section 102 row 12 to White River if anyone's interested. $210 with "convenience" charges.
Was anyone lucky enough to get sections 1-3 for White River during the presale or today?
My seats are a "far cry" from what I hoped they could be.

I guess with no Vancouver BC show and a presale and a ticketmaster auction, and the radio stations taking their share... pickings were slim this time! For R30 I was in the 13th row. I've been in the 1st row twice at the Rose Garden in Portland for T4E and Vapor Trails. It's a different game now that it was even 5-10 years ago.

I had better luck with the musicnow presale for the Clark County show. Got Row M on Alex's side for that one.

-I'll also be going to Marysville and maybe Concord.
Hoping for some luck tomorrow am.

Rush On!

Section 3, Orcehstra Alex side.

I took whatever came up knowing fully well I wouldn't be seeing Orchestra tickets for regular price this show again on line.

such luck, last seat in the aisle pinned to the end.

Man getting of this aisle to the bathroom is gonna be a bitch!

Listen up, Rush fans. This is my first post to this site, and it's an important one. I have been a fan of this band for 25 years this year (half my life, actually). I am absolutely irate about TicketBastard and its practices. As has been mentioned on this site already, the whole process of getting tickets to concerts has gotten completely out of control with scalpers, brokers, and God-knows-who-else trying to make a buck at the expense of fans. It's time to make a stand, people. Pure and simple. This is a SERIOUS inquiry. I am contemplating filing a class action lawsuit against Ticketmaster and the so-called broker firms. I think there is absolute strength in numbers. The more people who are willing to see this thing through to the end, the more likely we can find an attorney who will take on TicketBastard and the organized scalpers.

I am also going to contact the major television networks and beg them to investigate the current state of concert ticket sales, and I'm going to call Anthem this coming week to make them aware of what's going on (if they don't already know). A previous poster said it well that the musicians must get involved in this issue.

If you are interested in being a member to a class action suit, please let me know either on this blog or at my email address: rushcuckoo@msn.com. Serious inquiries only! Also, send the word out to friends who are also Rush fans. Post to other blog sites, letting the fans know that this lawsuit is in the works.

We need to put an end to TicketBastard's monopoly and unfair business practices! TAKE A STAND NOW!!!
#42 - Posted 3/31/07 @4:12PM by Aldebaran [contact]

1st time poster and I'm glad to be a part of this community(finally!). Ed- all I gotta say is thanks for your dedication to this site and all the great information you've provided. I check the site several times daily and enjoy it greatly. Been a totally absorbed fan since getting turned on to Hemispheres in 1978 @ 12yrs old. I went with great trepidation to a Ticketmaster location this morning and was delighted to find out that I was able to snatch up Row H section 101 (Gedster) tix for the 6/22 VB show. I hate to admit it but it's been 22 years since my last show and I will not allow myself a chance to get despondent for all those great shows lost. I'm just damned excited about the upcoming show. I am so greatful that our favorite band has put together such a great discography and put the live shows out for future appreciation that they have. I'll offer the same to you as many others have, if you happen to find yourself in my neck of the woods there will always be a cold beer in the fridge and a steak on the grill for ya !

Aldebaran,

Good to have you on board, I first posted a few days ago myself. I have not been as fortunate as you to have been a Rush fan for so long, I was only 2 in 1978! I just became a fan in 1994 when I heard "Working Man" on the radio and got entranced, I have been a huge Rush fan ever since, that is still my favorite Rush song.

On another note to everyone, I really feel bad for what everyone has had to go through to get tickets. It is a shame that it has to be so difficult to get good tickets to see your favorite band. I did mention in a previous post that I was hoping my connections would pan out and good news is that they have. I was reluctant to brag with all of the problems everyone else has had, but I just cannot hold my enthusiasm in. It seems my aunt, who has connections in Cincinnati will be able to get me extremely good seats for the Riverbend show on Sept. 1st, so I am really excited. This will be my 4th show, my 1st was also really good seats at Riverbend for Test for Echo tour and then saw them in Noblesville, Ind for Vapor Trails and the 30th anniversary tour.

Unfortunately, as much as I would like to go to multiple shows I just can't afford it this year, so I will have to wait for 5 months, it will be well worth the wait though! After all, I do have a new cd and dvd album to tide me over until the show. Also, I will take one show with good seats as opposed to two or three with crappy seats I suppose. I hope to god this is not the last tour!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and Aldebaran, if you tell me where your neck of the woods is I will gladly take you up on your offer of cold beer and steak on the grill!

Can anybody fill me on what to expect from a St. Paul crowd? I think this Excel show is going to be sweet. What was the turnout for Vapor Trails in 02 at the Target? I heard it was near packed.

#38 - RUSHINWA---- U willing to trade for 2 in 206 row 29 and will throw in more $ to cover what you paid???

My wife made a mistake with alotting $ for the show and other expense's (go figure as thats my run of luck) So, I had to get what I could! And am just trying to get my boy a little closer!

If not, thats cool... Will just hold a grudge and set the trolls on ya! ~ (just kidding)

Hey 'GG'... Am sorry to hear about the hubby! Keep your heads up and your pride intact and dont let the frustrations (of $$$ and little crap) come between the both of you! I know how hard it can get sometimes!

My wife and I share the same struggles as the 'average family' And I keep telling her when we hit the low times that one day we are gonna look back and laugh!

Jed, I woulda posted sooner. But, I was ready to put my pjs back on and climb back into bed just when my wife declares that she wants us to go to the mall!

Uggh!

I've heard of Blue Moon and havent tried it yet! Heres a few more for ya... Try any of the Red Hook (my favs ESB and Winter Brew), Killigans Red Irish Ale(I am not a fan of dark beers. But, I like it!) and Smithwicks! Really-really good!

Anyway ~ Any day is a great day to be a Rush fan. But, today just sums it up a little better!

I sprang into action quickly with the presale and got decent-ish tickets for one night at wembley. I was hoping in the general sale to get one on another night if it was a better location. No luck - it seems that the prime tickets get snapped up instantaneously. It does make me wonder, I tried getting Police tickets and they instantaneously dissappeared. I do believe ticket******* etc make it easy for scalpers. I did think initially conspiracy however it is probably just scalpers pretending to be 'fans' as anyone can sign up to Rush.com.

Hey GG,
Sorry to hear about hubby. Hopefully it will be very short lived.

I'm going to Marysville too! Section 206 (3rd section, but in the center at least--I hate being to the sides at a Rush show--I was 4th row on Alex's side one time [CP tour] and all I heard was Alex. Being a guitarist, that wasn't so bad, but still...) Drop me a line at edisonbaggins@gmail.com and maybe we can hook up for a tail gate or something! Also, I'm going to be on the lawn with many members of my family at Concord. I hope to see you both places!
#49 - Posted 3/31/07 @9:00PM by Spindrifter [contact]

I know that with the pre-sales through Music Today, our little on going debate with 'Ticketshackers', the whole 'Bullish' with scalpers & Ebay... (How I'd like to grind their a**es through chesse grater's) and everyone's nightmarish stories behind getting their tickets on-line!

Aside from all of that. I really do have to say that it's cool to see that tixs are selling like crazy for our boys! In other words, its great to see more Rush fans than I expected to 'still' be around!

My tiny little piece of advice to anyone and everyone getting tixs! Go directly to the ticket outlet and just get it over with the old fashion way! With my lesson learned this am... Try it!

1) Call ahead to see if they are handing out #'s to order the line! If not, get there early! If they are. Find out what time they are! Trust me on this, I was 2nd in line at 7:30, they came out for us to draw #'s and a chick who showed up at 9:30 ended up first (she was pretty much last to arrive)! Ugh!

2) Make sure that its just cash or debt/credit cards! Most places do not take checks! (3rd guy after me got doped as he didnt know ahead of time) Thank God for the plastic!

3) Take another person with you to purchase more than you are allotted to or if you are seeking for another show!

4) I was stumped to have been talking to total Rushheads who have caught them on the 2nd tour or the MP tour and they had no FREAKING clue as to 'Far Cry'! Some dont listen to the radio and are just catching it on TV or really just heard about em coming back around!

With that said.... As talk turns to talk in the lines. Ask if anyone has heard it.... It might help it in sales and radio play will bring it up and closer to the top spot!

And we as RUSH fans NEED to see a #1 tune!!!!!!

5) Some of the folks just stick with Rush.com and a few other sites. This morning, I was passing the word around of Eds site and how much up-to-date news we've gotten in the last month! They were stumped and will be checking it out!

Ed, get me an old car salesman suit, grease my hair to the side and I'll sell ya any day for a bumpersticker!

BTW, I think that Vanna has really screwed up on her letters today! (hint below)

Gunning for tix on radio right now! I have two phones--a cell and a land line on redial... anyone know the tricks to winning if the contest is to be the first caller when a Rush song is played? I could try pre-mature dialing at the end of each song? They said the Rush song would be within the hour...

procrost...

Whew, I logged onto Ticketmasher and, at exactly 10:00 am
leftcoast time, clicked on "select best seat" for the Portland, Or. show, and bought the first seat that popped up, which is way up close on the Alex side.
I would have preferred the Gedster side but, anyway, does it effing matter?
I am totally STOKED about going to my first live Rush!!!
Forget about keeping me in my seat, because I am going to be pogoing the whole effing show!!!
I am also exited about the pre-buzz over Snakes and Arrows.
I'll have fries with my shakes and marrows!!!!
Time for some all guitar-meat, no-bullshit prog!
See ya there! And please, Pentagonal God, make them play Subdivisions!

Edison,

You're doing it the way I did this past week, though my radio station was asking for caller #10. I just kept hanging up and redialing with both cell and office phones, then finally got a ring (be careful not to just hang up out of habit!), and won. It's a lot of luck, but double-fisting the redials helps, too. If it's caller #1, I'd just be doing what you're doing: start at the end of every song. Good luck.

Signed,

HA! Way to go ALG. Like your attitude. And I bet you'll leave the show thinking you were damn glad and lucky you got up close on Alex's side. Rock on..

Hey Rush fans! I'm liking this site. It's been a great source of info. these past two weeks. I like the comments, too. With the exception of Mr. Red Barchetta II, everyone seems pretty grounded.

I'm going to Concord, Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. I managed to get great single seats for SA and Houston from Ticketmaster. The SA seat is center orchestra! I scored it at 10:15 A.M. Go figure. The Houston seat is lower-right.

I know resellers are the scourge of concert goers everywhere so I won't mention further my tickets for Concord and Dallas.

I learned from the R30 tour that most presale tickets are bogus. I confirmed that today. The best I could have done presale for SA or Houston was second tier. The R30 presale landed me way back in 207 at Concord. Man was I pissed. The radio presales are even worse.

First Rush concerts in Texas. Gonna be hot.

Best Rush concert I've ever seen was VT at Shoreline. Worst was RTB in Reno. Two-thirds of the crowd left during the encore. They were just there for the Bud Light, I guess. Worst set was PW (sorry PW fans). First Rush concert was GUP in SLC and the last was R30 in Marysville, CA.

R30 Concord was weird. I know we're getting old but the crowd was either really stoned/drunk or tired. I'm not one for three hours of jumping, screaming, singing along, etc. but I'd say the crowd was less than welcoming considering the context of a rock concert. Of course, I was in section 207!

Good luck to those buying tix tomorrow. Get on at 10, hit "best available" and don't look back.

Thanks, guys, for the kind comments. My husband's an electrician and trying to start a company that build ponds and aquariums, so hopefully he'll find soemthing serious soon.

Things tend to have a way of working out if you think positive.

Keep Rushin' on!

Woohoo! I actually was caller #25 on Q104.3 earlier today and won two tickets for the Holmdel show! I've never won any sort of contest, raffle, etc. before.

I have no idea how good they will be, but tomorrow morning they will pick one winner for the front row upgrade. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Regardless of how these seats, turn out, I'll probably have a couple extra seats for PNC when all is said and done.

GeddyGirl, Let me get this straight....You are a schoolteacher and your husband is an electrician? Same career paths with my wife and I.

Early last week when driving to work, I was listening to the local talk radio station(WLW Cincy) They have small news snippits at the quarter hour. That day it was about Rush coming to Cincinnati Sept 1. They called them a "Headbangers band from the seventies" and mentioned they were STILL around! Of course if we had a radio station in Cincinnati that actually played ANY Rush, I would not have to listen to talk radio in the morning. All you folks out there that live in cities that have radio stations that play Rush....I envy you!......The irony is, when Rush comes...Clear channel will sponsor the concert, and they are the owners of the rock station in town(WEBN)...that wont play Rush!!

Has anyone been to Red Rocks? A friend of mine has a chance to get second or third row tickets for the show. The seats are located near the aisle. I see that there are 90 seats in the row and not sure if you can see at this angle. Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
#63 - Posted 4/2/07 @1:28PM by jediyyz [contact]

I was at Red Rocks for R30 "Sportsnut", take the tickets man!! I was in row 5 seat 95 for the show...it was great!! I could see just fine...the only thing I recall was not seeing the back screen so great, but that was minor in compared to how close I was...especially to Alex. Also, being on the slight angle, actually allowed me a better view to watch Neil work! Hey, if you don't want the seats let me know and I'll gladly trade you for mine!!
Hoped this helped!!

Hello jediyyz. I was just looking at the Red Rocks website at the view of row 2 seats 1 and 2 and it looks like you can't see the stage well. I am just concerned that you will just have a view of the speakers. Don't want to drop a lot of money for a limited view. Have not been to a show there. It looks like you were on the aisle and could see great. This would be on Geddys side. Thanks for your info.
#66 - Posted 4/3/07 @1:18PM by jediyyz [contact]

No problem Sportsnut...you won't be sorry! No speakers blocked the stage for R30...don't pass up a chance to be so close!...I was on Geddy's side and could see fine...let me know if you end up with the seats and I'll say hello!!(The speakers are hung up high and did not block my view at all)

Re: Red Rocks

I have attend'd many a show at the stellar venue we know as Red Rocks...

There is generally not a chance of an obstruct'd view anywhere in the joint...however, as Sportsnut asks...will the seats towards the end of the front rows create vision problems...perhaps...here's why...

Most artist/band setups rig the speakers up above the stage now...but not always the case...different bands and artists obviously have different stage props n' setups...watt I have noticed is that if there are p.a. speakers or stage monitor speakers over by the sides of the stage that does in fact create an obstruct'd view...in fact I remember seein' Neil Young there on his Greendale tour on 2004...I remember sittin' up in like row 50 or 51...I comment'd to some folks next to me that those people sittin' in the first say 5 rows were goin' to have a bit of a problem seein' the entire band all the time from their perspectives at the aisle seats and in say 10-15 seats...so it is really dependent upon in my eyes (as to how severe the obstruct'd views will be from the closer rows at the end of row seats on those aforemention'd rows) how the stage winds up being laid out...

I'd say 75% or more of the shows that I have seen there at Red Rocks have had the speaker rigs suspend's from the stage's ceiling...

I am a huge Red Rocks fan...just simply love the venue...if I had my druthers...it would be the only venue I would see my favorite artists perform at...however, there is one slight drawback to this outdoor venue...if you are seat'd say more than halfway up the 69 rows...say from like row 40ish on...if the wind happens to be an issue on a concert night...it can manipulate the sound waves...and how they travel on up to the back rows...I witness'd that scenario myself when I caught The Dave Matthews Band there on 9/11 2005...I was in the "GA" section from row 60-69...my friend and I decided to sit in the last row dead center...a coupla times that night I noticed the volume of the concert's sound being shift'd and manipulated by the wind...so like one guy sez' on his item description for rush tixs at Ebay..."Red Rocks has got to be one of the few venues in the country where 'unauthorized seat upgrades' take place quite often...so if row invaders upset you...be prepared to ask for a ticket to prove one's validity to being in said spot...cuz' they will try it...happens every show I go to there...and if the row invader does not like you askin' for their ticket to prove they belong there...offer to go contact security...that always works best right after the row invader sparks up his drug of choice...lmao...

...cheer's y'all...Rush at Red Rocks...gunna be a great time for one and all...
