Tour Date Updates
Posted at 09:47 AM | comments (81)

UPDATE - 3/15@8:20PM: Another show out west. This one just got listed on ticketmaster.com's Rush page. It's at the infamous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO on August 8th. It has a showtime of 8PM and lists tickets as going on sale on Saturday, March 31st at 10AM. Let's hope this one stays up for a while and doesn't get yanked down like the Cincinnati show. Thanks to reader Andy for the news. This post is really getting cluttered with updates... I'll probably have to start a new one.

UPDATE - 3/15@4:55PM: Another rumored date; Smirnoff Music Center in Dallas, TX on August 10th.

UPDATE - 3/15@9:29AM: Another one. These are coming in faster than I can keep up! Reader Redstar Rushnut has a source at Live Nation and he's been informed that Rush will play the Sleep Train Amphitheater in Marysville, CA on August 4th.

UPDATE - 3/14@10:56PM: They just keep coming. Now zidaneisabutthead over at Counterparts is claiming that they'll be playing the John Labatt Centre in London, ON on September 12th - which happens to be Neil Peart's 55th birthday!

UPDATE - 3/14@10:27PM: Finally some news on the opening date for the tour. In case you didn't know, the Starwood in Nashville where the tour was originally intended to open was bought and closed down recently. There was a lot of speculation as to whether the tour would still open in Nashville or somewhere else. Well, it won't be in Nashville. It'll still be on June 13th but in Atlanta instead. Atlanta was originally going to be on the 18th, so now the 18th is open. How this'll affect other June dates is unclear. I'd originally heard this earlier today but hadn't enough details to feel comfortable posting it. Then the ever-helpful and talented MitA confirmed the info on the Counterparts board.

UPDATE - 3/14@9:07PM: The waters are muddying a bit. I hear a rumor that Raleigh, NC is now on the board for a show at Walnut Creek in late June - possibly replacing the Charlotte show. And I finally have some news of the western leg; Las Vegas at the MGM Grand on Saturday, July 28th with more western US dates in August.

UPDATE - 3/14@7:59PM: I think I'm going to have to nix the Camden show at the Tweeter Center from the list for now. I've heard it from enough people that this one is bogus. It was announced on a Philly radio station and it looks like the DJ was misinformed somehow. The date of August 4th was the very same date that they played there on the R30 tour - so it's likely that there was some confusion related to that. If they play Camden it will most likely be in late June with the other East Coast dates.

UPDATE - 3/14@12:17PM: Reader Claudia pointed me to this site which lists 2 more dates in Germany; October 19th in Oberhausen at the Arena and October 21st in Mannheim at the SAP-Arena.

I've been getting a few more unconfirmed dates from people. I mentioned them all in my Tour Dates open thread post but I thought I'd bring them to the top of the fold. Some of the newer dates (since Monday) are the Montage Mountain in Scranton PA on June 29th (I got this from someone who works for one of the major sponsors of the venue); SECC Arena in Glasgow, UK on October 3rd; and Newcastle Metro Arena in the UK on October 5th. Here's my summary list so far. Please let us all know if you hear about any more. Hopefully Rush.com will have some dates for us by next week too.

FYI -

I suspect that Nashville is not going to happen as scheduled. Starwood Amp is done - closed - kaput.

The only real alternative is the Nashville Arena (former GEC) and I have a feeling they are leaving June open for the Stanley Cup playoffs since the Predators (Go Preds! - Pred Sector A - sorry Rushguy!) are probable for that.

Hopefully they will resched here for later in the tour. I'm going to the ATL show just to be safe.

I'll keep my eyes open for that Gorge show in Washington State. Let's hope they play that venue. What a place!

Great pic, Bo. I saw them there for T4E and VT. It was incredible. I had row 6 Alex's side for VT. Unfortunately I now live in Michigan so my Gorge in George shows are only memories.
#6 - Posted 3/14/07 @10:17AM by Colin [contact]

Glasgow SECC! Yahoooooooooooooooooo! Thanks Ed, and thanks Rushguy, they must have listened to you. :)
#7 - Posted 3/14/07 @10:23AM by Scott_PA [contact]

I have never done a long-distance Rush trip (typically hit everything within 4 hours or so... which means I catch 4-6 shows a tour). I have seriously considered a trip to either the Gorge or to Red Rocks (if they play it again). Has anyone been to both? If so, do you have a recommendation? The Gorge looks positively spectacular... have wanted to go there ever since the Journey "Raised on Radio" vids showed it over and over and over on Mtv (back when it actually played vids). But, if I am going to do a long-distance (from the east coast) trip, is the Gorge the one?
#8 - Posted 3/14/07 @10:46AM by Rubinowits [contact]

Yes, Scott. Go to the Gorge. Everything is great there. For the R30 tour I went to the Gorge, Oregon, Chicago and Michigan. I never made it to Red Rocks but the pictures that were up on Rush.com a year or so ago, made it look like a fab place to see them. Rush tours are getting shorter and rarer so if you have the means do it now.

In 2004 I did London from Rome (because Milan was not sure in the beginning), this time I'll do Milan... if they'll decide to visit Rome, I'll the happiest guy around!!!

That whole Jews/Romans thing a few years back has got me thinking that he might not want that designation, lol.

Any of you guys know something about Toronto? Please let us all know. Thanks!!
#12 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:07AM by Jcrafty [contact]

That place looks sweet, prolly a long drive from Ohio. I'm still having trouble wrapping my mind around these dates. How they get from the Midwest (cincy) in Sept to Europe in Oct I cannot figure out. Where are all the texas, arizona, cali, washington dates. If the Nashville date falls through how about starting the tour in mid to late May, that would make this timeline a little bit more feasable.
#13 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:13AM by Brian [contact]

All of this speculation is probably the reason that these are "unconfirmed" dates. In other words, pointless to try to wrap your mind around them, I'm sure that it will all make sense in the end.

#14 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:39AM by jediyyz [contact]

Thanks for the pic of the Gorge Bo, looks like a cool destination...I wonder when the southwest part of the tour will be? Doesn't look like too much room based on these unconfirmed dates.
#15 - Posted 3/14/07 @12:04PM by C. Felix [contact]

July 9th-Aug 4th....???

DC area? Chicago?
#16 - Posted 3/14/07 @12:26PM by bosskat [contact]

Please, please, please - Play Red Rocks again! I don't see any dates yet in the middle of the U.S.
#17 - Posted 3/14/07 @12:34PM by Mark [contact]

They better play Blossom Music Center in Cleveland!
#18 - Posted 3/14/07 @12:36PM by Rodney Kolterman [contact]

Even though in his book "Roadshow", Neil appeared to express a rather indifferent impression as to the quality of their presentation at the Hollywood Bowl... There was something very golorious and majestic to seeing a Rush performance at such a scenic and historic landmark.

So I especially hope they're considering another show there!
#19 - Posted 3/14/07 @12:40PM by Ed [contact]

Mark- damn right they better play Blossom! :)
#20 - Posted 3/14/07 @1:16PM by Mark Wallace [contact]

Ed - Have you ever heard "If you build it they will come."? If you build a paypal spot on your web page I bet you can see Rush for FREE this year!!!! I know I will help!
#21 - Posted 3/14/07 @1:54PM by Tom [contact]

At least for sure we all know that they won´t play Bangkok :D
#22 - Posted 3/14/07 @1:55PM by scott c [contact]

I was doing a little scientific research on past tour dates. the R30 tour appears similar to what is being currently speculated.however VT came out May 14 2002, and tour began June 28, which if you shift every unconfirmed date back 2 weeks it looks like it could unfold in the same way.
#23 - Posted 3/14/07 @2:26PM by D- [contact]

Bo - Where about are you.. OR or WA?

The Gorge is awesome! Am hoping that I'll be able to hit both White River Ampt. then more then likely they'll head on down to the Gorge, like they've been doing.

You know what would be really kewl? If they started the tour in the western states then made their rounds. I cant remember the last time they did that! Anyone???

Am bummed to see these dates as we're over here on the other side of the states. And where they are with the dates, it looks like we'll welcome em here during the winter! Which would mean Key Arena and it sucks for sound!

But, then again... Till its official, I wont fill up with tears and whine just yet!

GUP was the last Western start. courtesy of Power Windows
#25 - Posted 3/14/07 @3:22PM by D- [contact]

Scott - U sure? Cuz, I saw em back in 84 for 3 days straight at the Cow Palace and I think it was like Dec or Jan.

God, I'd do anything to be 14 all over again, going to my first Rush concert, having my first beer and learning what the big deal was all about with 'pot', duh! But, no 'pot' this time around!

#26 - Posted 3/14/07 @4:24PM by Dave [contact]

I'm sure Rush will have decent ticket prices as usual. I just saw on ticketmaster that Genesis will be charging $277, $152, and $77 to play in Toronto. That's nuts.
#27 - Posted 3/14/07 @4:31PM by frank Oude Weernink [contact]

for me Oberhausen is a 90 minutes drive just as Rotterdam.
Then i'l take Mannheim for a two hours drive. And I will see 4 concerts in 6 days JJJJJJJOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
#28 - Posted 3/14/07 @4:50PM by Mark Wallace [contact]

frank, you are making me jealous!!

Enjoy the shows!
#29 - Posted 3/14/07 @5:09PM by Ted [contact]

I've heard 90 bucks (USD) for the best seats at Saratoga Perfoming Arts Center for the 6/30 show. In the scheme of things, not bad. Even at the current CAD/USD exchange rate, 277 CAD for Genesis is insanity.
#30 - Posted 3/14/07 @5:13PM by jessica [contact]

i'm with you bosskat (post #16)... i'm holding out for red rocks also. this will be my first rush show after being a huge fan for... 10 years or so? i can't think of a better place to see them. i will be shocked if they don't come somewhere near the denver area, but then again, you never know. here's hoping...
#31 - Posted 3/14/07 @5:23PM by Dan [contact]

MINNEAPOLIS
OMAHA
KANSAS CITY

C'mon, throw me a bone here!!!
#32 - Posted 3/14/07 @5:36PM by Jcrafty [contact]

Bob Segar played here the other night...$65.00 per ticket no matter the seat. There's no reason to gauge long time fans for money. Rush usually does right by the fans.
#33 - Posted 3/14/07 @6:22PM by Rush ist Krieg [contact]

Ohh my god.. I think I'm going to Rotterdam all the way from Denmark.. Then I might have to fly, but I will capture two shows in just a few days! It might be it! But it would be nice with a date in south-sweden or north-east germany.
#34 - Posted 3/14/07 @6:24PM by Tony [contact]

I would love to see Rush at Red Rocks. That would be awesome.
Though the Cricket arena (or whatever its called now) is pretty nice. Unfortunately, they seem to always come here in July and August when its like 115 degrees, in the shade! In fact, last time, there was a Monsoon blowing through during the concert, which was actually kinda cool, cuz at the peak of the storm, they were jamming out Earthshine! It was cooooel.
Thunder, Lightning, gusting wind and a light rain... very nice! :-)
#35 - Posted 3/14/07 @6:27PM by keith [contact]

looks like there're going to play pnc in jerseyfor sure(garden state arts center for us older people but for you jersey/phila fans did not like camden at all...show was great but the venue sucks....if your not in the middle three sections or on the middle of the "lawn" dirt seats you cant see the screens in the back....i moved from my seat and went to the lawn until it started pouring so i'd guess i'm only going to see 1 show this year unless the play in radio city.jeeeeze was that great there.......
#36 - Posted 3/14/07 @7:04PM by Shane [contact]

Yeah I heard that Red Rocks is a wesome place to see a concert. Back in 1983 U2 played there and filmed it for a video release later that year. And When I saw that performance on MTV I was blown away. As for RUSH to be play there should awesome for this tour. I just hope they near by me of Southern California (South Orange County). Another good place to see is Hollywood Bowl and RUSH played there on the last tour R30. I was at the Bowl last Nov. to see Motley Crue and Aerosmith. But I miss Motley Crue set. I was surely pissed about that. Never see a double header show. It Cause a distraction from my experince. RUSH forever ladies and gentlemen.

Shane
#37 - Posted 3/14/07 @8:50PM by kevin [contact]

R30 should have filmed the Red Rocks Show. Germany was cool, but from what I have heard from attendees that place was on fire. They looked tired and R30 lacked energy. What doesnt compared to RIO.
#38 - Posted 3/14/07 @8:54PM by Botcherby [contact]

I hope i will get to see my first Rush show this summer,
looks like there are a few months open for them to come to utah, a bunch of fans from my high school are planning on going together (rush fans are so few, but they kind of gravitate to each other), we cant wait!
#39 - Posted 3/14/07 @10:17PM by eaglesinnc [contact]

I heard Raleigh as well - which makes me happy since I live there! My step-daughter was signinig up for some primo season passes for Walnut Creek and they listed Rush as one of the bands coming this summer. They didn't list any dates though.
#40 - Posted 3/14/07 @10:23PM by James B. [contact]

Oklahoma City has the new Ford Center which is great, but who am I kidding? Rush has'nt been to Oklahoma since the late 80's or early 90's. Dallas or Kansas City will do just fine!!!!
#41 - Posted 3/14/07 @10:52PM by Paul D. [contact]

When they come to Wisconsin I hope they would play at Alpine Valley and NOT the Marcus Amp. Alpine is one of the greatest places to see a show!!
#42 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:03PM by Wayne [contact]

Waiting for news on a Michigan show!
#43 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:20PM by Serguei [contact]

Any date for Montreal or Toronto? I really hope so....
#44 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:21PM by Pat [contact]

After growing up in NJ, where I could catch 3 or 4 shows every tour, I've been quite disappointed living in Utah, where I can usually only catch 1, but this year I'll go to Las Vegas (glad to see that date) as well as SLC (which just HAS to be on the tour, right? please?).
#45 - Posted 3/14/07 @11:37PM by Scott [contact]

Any news on Milwaukee and Chicago???
#46 - Posted 3/15/07 @12:30AM by Brian [contact]

Yeah, that's too bad about the closing of the Starwood in Nashville ... we made the 800 mile trek down there for Vapor Trails in '02 - and it was absolutely one of the finest RUSH shows I've ever seen out of my 23 times dating way back to Signals. Our plans this time around are to hit Scranton, Saratoga Springs, Darian Lake and hopefully Blossom Music Center ... maybe more?? Would absolutely love to venture out and experience the awesomeness of Red Rocks or the Gorge ... but that's a bit much to pull off. Have fun this summer rockin' to RUSH everyone!!!
#47 - Posted 3/15/07 @12:51AM by me [contact]

Scranton venue at Montage caved in this winter. I have to wonder about that one but I hope so. I thought they played particularly well there for both VT and R30.
#48 - Posted 3/15/07 @12:56AM by me [contact]

Can anybody from the mid west fill me in one what to expect as far as attendance at a Minneapolis show? Thanks
#49 - Posted 3/15/07 @1:28AM by scott c [contact]

around 9000 ...i will be there. right now just hoping for an actual date to be announced
#50 - Posted 3/15/07 @3:29AM by frank Oude Weernink [contact]

Thanks Mark Wallace I"M sure iwill enjoy the shows
#51 - Posted 3/15/07 @3:36AM by tygr [contact]

I hope that the Atlanta date on June 13th is bogus. The original rumored date is much better for me. If the boys hit Tampa on a Friday or Saturday and then Atlanta two days later I can catch both shows and only miss two days at the office. Atlanta on a Wednesday is a huge problem. PLEASE SAY IT AIN'T SO!!! (o;}
#52 - Posted 3/15/07 @4:38AM by CJ [contact]

I hope the atlanta date is for real. I live in the atl and i can hit the show on wednesday hop on a plane the next morning and see the w. palm show on sat and hang out at the beach to boot. Im wanting to see the vegas show again but im considering nixing that show to see redrocks if that happens ahhh decisions decisions.
#53 - Posted 3/15/07 @7:36AM by kevin [contact]

Walnut Creek is a sweet venue. Only an a hour from my casa =)

I predict they will drop Tom Sawyer from the setlist.
#54 - Posted 3/15/07 @7:56AM by scott c [contact]

and, like we are all dreaming, add The Camera Eye!
#55 - Posted 3/15/07 @8:10AM by C. Felix [contact]

Walnut Creek!

Only 20 minutes from where I live!

Where do you live Kevin? Fayettville?
#56 - Posted 3/15/07 @8:45AM by Redstar_Rushnut [contact]

I have a reliable source at Live Nation - Sleep Train Amphitheater, Marysville, Ca. on August 4th. Confirmed - for now.
#57 - Posted 3/15/07 @8:49AM by Colin [contact]

Can't see them playing London on the 12th September then Glasgow 3 weeks later. It's only a days drive. Maybe London then some European dates then back to UK, but going back to Holland after? I think they would do Europe in one run.
#58 - Posted 3/15/07 @8:59AM by scott c [contact]

thats
London, ON, Canada
#59 - Posted 3/15/07 @9:48AM by RUSHnATL [contact]

I've got my fingers crossed for ATLANTA opening night. That would be fun and cool.

Then wait a few days for the road trip up to Charlotte. That's extra nice.

Ed - great site! Glad to see you getting so many responses these days.
#60 - Posted 3/15/07 @10:39AM by C. Felix [contact]

ED!

I think you should follow Neil's lead from Roadshow and call the venues by their generic names.
"Cell Phone Company Ampitheatre"
"Hotel Chain Ampitheatre"
"Male Impotence Drug Ampitheatre"
#61 - Posted 3/15/07 @10:47AM by Ed [contact]

#60 - CF,
So true man. :)
#62 - Posted 3/15/07 @11:25AM by Colin [contact]

Scott C,
Thanks for the correction. I'm getting so excited I can hardly see straight! I'll pay attention next time (well I'll try!)
#63 - Posted 3/15/07 @11:29AM by TorontoWriter [contact]

I seriously doubt they'll play London, ON. It's too small a market to be so close to Toronto. If anything, they'd play 2 shows in Toronto like they used to up until last tour.
#64 - Posted 3/15/07 @12:04PM by D- [contact]

For those that want to catch the Gorge/Washington/Oregon shows. I am willing to bet that they'll be here somewhere between Jul 15th - Jul 25th! Am just basing that between the CT Jul 09th and NV July July 28th shows.

God, just DONT let any of the Washington/Ore shows happen on Aug 1st. My wife and daughter both share the same b-days! And that would make me a complete mess!

D~
#65 - Posted 3/15/07 @12:43PM by jediyyz [contact]

You could be right D~,...and I wish you well... I'm starting to doubt some of these dates, even some wishful thinking...when will the Texas leg of the tour be?...what about the possible return to NM?...Denver?...Phoenix...not enough openings in the current possible schedule...I may need a shot of a certain single malt whiskey!!!
#66 - Posted 3/15/07 @12:49PM by K.K. [contact]

According to Ticketmaster, it appears Rush will be playing at the Post Gazette Pavilion in Pittsburgh....No date posted.
#67 - Posted 3/15/07 @1:42PM by Jon [contact]

Indy?
St. Louis?

Any rumours on these...?????
#68 - Posted 3/15/07 @1:57PM by crazyrunner [contact]

I knew that Camden date had to be wrong!
#69 - Posted 3/15/07 @1:57PM by jediyyz [contact]

ED. where are these rumored dates coming from?...example; Las Vegas on July 28th?...it looks like(if these dates pan out) there is little room in June, a small window in July, and some time in Aug. before Rush departs for Europe...lots of area to cover in a limited time...possible return to the states after Europe?...its been done before but seems unlikely...also a return to Brazil has been a long standing rumor...by the way has anyone had a good experience with Ticketmaster(very tricky and hit and miss for good seats)...and I get mad every tour at the ticket brokers who get most of the good seats and sell them at inflated prices...I'm getting steamed up just thinking about it!!!...wait a minute, I'm not allowed to feel anger...must learn control!!
#70 - Posted 3/15/07 @2:09PM by D- [contact]

Am a little 50/50 on 'zidaneisabutthead' claims of the guys being over in London on Sept. 12th. With it being Neils b-day and he does have a little handful of friends over there!

There would be time for them to finish the CA leg around the August 4th date, throw in Sacra. the Bay Area then down to Southern CA. But, it doesnt make sense to round up to Ohio then off to London. As we all know that they go from CA then over-seas.

I think that the GPS's 'Doofus, Dingus and Dork' are screwing with Michael and Neil again!

D~
#71 - Posted 3/15/07 @2:15PM by scott c [contact]

d,
i made the same double take...it's actually London Ontario, not England.. Anyway when have the played that London lately?
#72 - Posted 3/15/07 @2:54PM by D- [contact]

Scott - Thanks for the heads up... Didnt catch that!

Whats in London, ON... Anyone???

D~
#73 - Posted 3/15/07 @2:59PM by Mark Wallace [contact]

Rush is on September 12th!!

At least if the rumored dates are right.
#74 - Posted 3/15/07 @3:27PM by scott c [contact]

All I want is a Minneapolis date somewhere in between Sep 1-30!! or whenever!
#75 - Posted 3/15/07 @3:28PM by PW [contact]

Where are Toronto dates?!? London, Ontario's Labatt Centre is smaller venue, saw Peter Gabriel there in 2003. Would love to see Rush in smaller venue such as this, would be great change from big boring Air Canada Centre (Toronto) and Molson Amphitheatre (also Toronto).
#76 - Posted 3/15/07 @4:08PM by eye [contact]

OBERHAUSEN!!??!! You know where that is, don't you? ESSEN!!! Rush are playing Essen during the biggest boardgame show in the world. 4 days of playing excelelnt german games, and a Rush concert on the Friday night.

Oh joy!
#77 - Posted 3/15/07 @5:13PM by C.Felix [contact]

Gimmie a date in mid July in Baltimore area!

My brother works at Rock98! I know I could get tix through him...maybe even backstage passes!

(I had backstage passes for Counterparts. Ran around MSG, but didn't find anybody or anything interesting.)
#78 - Posted 3/15/07 @6:24PM by jediyyz [contact]

How believable are any of these dates?...it looks like they are criss-crossing the country...getting confusing...remember the "farewell" tour rumor?...how reliable are these "sources"...these ticketmaster and live nation people are the same ones who sell all the good seats to the ticket brokers who gouge us, the real fans...yeah, frustration is setting in...confirmed dates please!!!

WTF? I can't see RUSH playing in ho-dunk Sac/Marysville without a stop at Shoreline or Concord in the Bay Area. Never once have they only played the smaller market- Sacramento venue without a stop in the Bay Area. They sell out in the Bay Area while they only get a few hundred on the grass in Sac/Marysville. Doesn't make any sense....

Bruce - It's great to finally see someone from the Bay Area in here! Many memories at the Cow Palace, Shoreline and Cal-Expo!

These are just rumor dates.... Nothing's been hissed from the s-s-s-nakes just yet!

Yer with the rest of us, waiting for the 'official datessss' to be s-s-s-pitted out at us!

I now live in Washington state since '97'. So, do me a favor and have Togo's for lunch. A large #16, white with everything on it, no pickles!

Togo's is the best! I prefer the 26 but the 16 is good too! It's all about the large!

Wow... Cal-Expo. the good ol' days. Remember the Presto Tour? Mr. Big opened up, good times! I was like 13 then, wow... how the time fly's!

I hope they play in Washington for you! I'm sure they will!

Take care D! Heading to Togo's now!
