Full transcript of Geddy Lee Revolver Magazine interview
Posted at 09:24 PM | comments (72)

Geddy LeeEarlier this week Blabbermouth published a blurb from a recent Revolver magazine interview with Geddy Lee. A couple days later some scans of pics from the article became available. Now, thanks to MitA, we have a complete transcript! Here it is:

"It's hard to describe," said Lee. "It's big, it's bold, and I think it's some of the best work we've done in years. I'm really pleased with the quality of the songs, and there's lots of playing on it."

The upcoming CD promises to be the most organic-sounding RUSH effort in decades, having been influenced by their experience of making "Feedback", the band's 2004 EP of classic-rock covers.

"Playing those songs that we loved and grew up on, I think it helped us remember how sometimes it's the simplicity or the directness of an arrangement that really makes a great song," said Lee. "And the other thing is, we played all together in the studio for a lot of the 'Feedback' stuff. That's something that a lot of producers had been pushing us to do for a while but which we hadn't done in years. It was great to turn off the click and just play - you know, not worry so much about being so, quote, metronomic - and that definitely carried over into this record."

"... We wanted the bed tracks to have that sort of live attitude to them, and that totally went with Nick's thinking, as well".

In Rasculinecz, the band found not only an enthusiastic collaborator but also a serious taskmaster who wasn't at all intimidated by the musician's formidable chops. "Nick really pushed us-he was constantly saying things like, 'Make it more complicated!' Lee laughs.

"There's no point in hiring a producer who's not going to speak his mind, but it's a tall order to find someone who can hear Neil's playing, amazing as it is, and still say, 'Maybe you should try going in this direction...' It was a pleasure to be challenged. That's really what a band like us needs."

Rush and Rasulinecz are currently mixing the new album at L.A.'s Ocean Way Studios, but most of the tracking was done at Allaire Studios in New York's Catskill Mountains.

"It's an old manor house that was originally built by the Pitcairn family, who owned the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company," Lee explains. "It's on the top of this mountain with just breathtaking views of the Hudson Valley. Our original intention was only to spend about 12 days there, doing drums. But it's so beautiful there, and the rooms sounded so great, and they didn't have anyone coming in after us, so Nick was like, 'Hey, let's keep goin'!'"

Though Rush recorded at a number of residential studios during the Seventies and Eighties, these were the first "sleepover sessions" for the band in nearly two decades, and Lee admits he initially wasn't entirely keen on the idea. In fact, "I approached it with great trepidation," he laughs. "I love those guys dearly, but 24 hours a day with anybody is a bit much. But to be honest, we had a blast. We got so much accomplished in our five and a half weeks there, and I have to say that I can't remember a recording session that's been as enjoyable and as refreshingly creative as these sessions. There was just a vibe with this record were everyone wanted to be there all the time."

-Dan Epstein

So ... more high praise of Nick Raskulinecz and more unbridled excitement. I can't wait! By the way, Snakes & Arrows is now available for pre-order!

how great is this f-ing site!?!

Okay - clearly they aren't going with the usual click track (i.e., metronome).

I'll rescind my previous conclusion that the record will necessarily sound "looser".

We'll just have to wait and see, I guess.

Groovy!
#5 - Posted 3/4/07 @10:55PM by Rushguy [contact]

loose, tight, what's the difference? :) Really, have they ever released a 'loose' sounding album? Not in my opinion and I doubt they will start now. If they do, then I say AWESOME - because there would be a reason for them doing so. The album will sound the way they want it to and since 1974, that's been good enough for me. :)

God this is great. Nick seems like he knows what hes doing. Its great that hes pushing them all in knew directions. I think this album is gonna be veryyyy progressive.
#7 - Posted 3/4/07 @11:39PM by AJ [contact]

I heard once that NEP was considered by the Guinness Book as the most "On Time" drummer in the world (Anyone ever hear this or can you discredit it? Just wondering). But if it is true, they will still be tight on tempo--not that I doubt they won't be... lol. Anyways, this is exciting. You CAN teach "old" dogs new tricks (I don't consider them old). This site does rock. Thanks Ed and MitA! Now to make us even crazy release another 5 seconds of "Far Cry"----lol

Off topic, but the original Not Fade Away single is available here; link Currently it is at a good price considering what it usually fetches. If you don't have one, and can afford so, a worthwhile investment in your library.

If the link doesn't work, go to eBay, and enter Not Fade Away.

Cheers.

Geddy's comments fully bolster my argument that this will not be a farewell tour.
#11 - Posted 3/5/07 @1:01AM by me [contact]

Can you imagine if one of the new songs actually pushes heavily into mainstream at Moving Picture levels? I would love to live through that wave just one more time. I think Counterparts is the last release that had a shot but Stick It Out was not the right single to release and it killed the pop impact momentum of that album.
#12 - Posted 3/5/07 @5:25AM by George Ford [contact]

You're right me, the Counterparts tune that had the necessary catchiness for radio -- and would've sent the record into a higher sales bracket -- was "Between Sun and Moon." (On T4E it was "Totem," on Vapor Trails it was "How it Is"). Some will argue that other tracks are more rifftastic, but BSAM and those other songs simply do not leave your head. That's what makes casual fans buy albums. Roll the Bones went platinum and the radio-friendly "Ghost of a Chance" was demanded as a single by rock radio outlets, according to the Billboard ad for the album when it hit one million in sales.

I would like to comment on this

"The Upcoming CD promises to be the most organic-sounding RUSH effort in decades"

Any speculation as to what that means?
#15 - Posted 3/5/07 @10:36AM by John 2 [contact]

I've been thinking about the "organic" comment too. If I had to guess, I think it refers to more of an emphasis of acoustic instruments (guitar and mandolin as examples.)

Perhaps they are referring to the writing and recording process. They have been known to do all of these things seperately in the past. E-mailing files and lyrics and recording a part here and there.

Apparently, Geddy and Alex jammed and wrote together and they all recorded most of the stuff together too.

I dunno...just guessing.
#16 - Posted 3/5/07 @10:41AM by E.R. [contact]

I think it means that it won't sound as heavily layered as some of their more recent work and more just the the three intsruments. That's probably where the comparisons to Hemispheres and Permanent Waves are coming from.

While I liked the songs on Vapor Trails and how cohesive they were, I certainly don't mind "complicated" as Geddy said in the interview.

Two weeks to Far Cry!!!!!

Regards,

E.R.
#17 - Posted 3/5/07 @10:41AM by Kurt [contact]

It probably refers more to a recording process than what the end user will hear. I am just confused how big, bold, heavy, and organic have in common. Need to hear more Far Cry.
#18 - Posted 3/5/07 @11:13AM by Manny [contact]

I personally hope they start using Analog Synthesizers again.

I can understand them turning to digital in the 80's since those old analog synths were hard to keep in tune and were not the most flexible in terms of live use. However, modern technology has taken care of all that. The new analog boxes stay in tune, are infinitely flexible via MIDI and more importantly have the real BALLS they need for certain sounds, especially the synth break in Tom Sawyer. I may be the only one out there who feels this way, but when they play that break on RIR or R30 or when I saw them live on those two tours, it was like somebody let the air out of the tires. That digital roland Synth just doesn't cut it both interms of the sound, or the balls.

Hopefully their new producer forced them to rethink this aspect of their sound. Rush with Analog synths was the most rocking I believe.
#19 - Posted 3/5/07 @11:41AM by Tony [contact]

I would speculate that they might be referring to a Neil's drums more than anything else. Maybe he will just be using the acoustic kit without the E-drums. I would love to have been a fly on the wall in that studio, during the recording of this record. I am so pumped up for this one!
#20 - Posted 3/5/07 @12:23PM by Chris [contact]

Tony,

In the aerial pic from Allaire on Neil's site, his electronic kit is set up directly to the right of his acoustic, FYI.

Can't wait to hear Red Sector B! :)
#21 - Posted 3/5/07 @12:51PM by Redlinedrummer [contact]

Well they did shoot a in studio DVD so I think we will get to be "Flys on the walls" for there intire recording time in the studio..........
#22 - Posted 3/5/07 @1:01PM by D- [contact]

Can anyone tell me any other band that makes their fans tinker and fiddle over anything with slight torture?

It's as if they are feeing us kibble n bits and we slowly chew on it. Once done, they feed us more!

"Big, bold, heavy" and then add "organic" along with "Make it more complicated" How in the heck can they make it more complicated? Come on, we're talking about RUSH here!

I will put it like this... The boys are b-a-a-a-c-c-c-k!

Is it May 1st yet?

D~
#23 - Posted 3/5/07 @1:39PM by Chris [contact]

Slightly off topic. Does anyone remember the feeling they got when they first heard that intro to One Little Victory? I literally felt chills. That was an awesome, awesome feeling, considering all of the various circumstances. This band has been very good to us.
#24 - Posted 3/5/07 @2:14PM by C. Felix [contact]

I'm assuming that organic means less processing of the sound. Lets filters, distortion, whatnot, on Alex's guitar...less chours on the bass.

Remember Alex's Andromeda theme? If I remember correctly, it was all guitars. Something like 20,000 overdubs. It was around that time that I remember Alex using the word "organic" quite a bit.
#25 - Posted 3/5/07 @2:30PM by Broonskey [contact]

Regarding CP, I remember it being pretty damn popular when it came out and I was in highschool (mostly due to the generic factor I've mentioned before). So was RTB. Both had many songs that were played either a lot or at least a fair amount on the radio (KSHE 95) like: Dreamline, Bravado, RTB, Ghost of a Chance, Animate, Stick it Out, Nobody's Hero, Between Sun and Moon, Double Agent, and Cold Fire. In my highschool the collective consciousness recognized Dreamline, RTB, and Stick it Out when they were heard, even among those who didn't even really know who Rush was.

I even remember CP being KSHE'S new "album of the week" for I think 2 weeks in a row, and it was up against Pearl Jam's Versus at the time. It did quite well for a album from a 20 year old band competing with a lot of great recent and hugely popular albums by new grunge/alternative bands in the early/mid-90s like Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, STP, Nirvana, RHCP...etc, as well as older very popular band releases by Van Halen, Aerosmith, U2, AC/DC, Tom Petty, Metallica...etc.

And remember that this was when cd's were $15+ and mp3's were unheard of or not easily d/l on a 56k modem, lol. So people didn't have the access they do now to music, and they had to pick and choose and make sacrifices as to what they wanted to buy. I spent many hours working to pay for my high school Rush cd collection (as well as cd's of other bands)!
#26 - Posted 3/5/07 @3:04PM by yaddayadda [contact]

About the NEP drummer "most in time" comment...
I have a ton of "non-label release" recordings spanning the years, and have attended over 60 Rush shows, to quantifiably say, NO, NEP is not as metronomic as everyone says he is. That Guiness Book qoute sounds kinda far fetched, but there have been much WORSE quotes about him before, like having a PhD in Drumming, English, Physics, etc. LOL. BUT...he is an awesome drummer, solid, precise, deliberate, just not PERFECT. Well, as close as they come, but still...
#27 - Posted 3/5/07 @3:16PM by Kurt [contact]

I love Alien Shore... I live in Chicago area, WLUP will play Far Cry, but once the album comes out, I would be shocked if more than one other song ever is heard. And no other station will play any Rush. I will be happy to have new just so that non fans know they made music after 1981.

Our local ESPN Radio show each Friday does a roadshow and picks a feature artist for its bumper music. Friday was Rush...and shockingly they played nothing but pre-GUP stuff. I was screaming...play One Little Victory, or something in the last 20 years.

In regards to S&A I am hoping that the $18.99 charge is reflective of an additional making of cd or DVD. However look at any newer release, they all start at $18.99 and then the price drops.

Just listening to Far Cry clip, it is reflective of the Garrison guitar comment as it has the acoustic riff, and has lots of playing, is heavier, bold, but organic? That is still got be baffled. Must mean something to Geddy about the recording process which being a non-musician I am out of that loop.
#28 - Posted 3/5/07 @3:23PM by me [contact]

I'm having a hard time focusing on just about anything. This is pathetic. I just keep hitting refresh for this site and staring at the page in the hope time will somehow go faster. Ridiculous.
#29 - Posted 3/5/07 @3:28PM by Chris [contact]

Me,

You're not the only one! :)

My band's CD comes out March 31! Anyone in Indy should come check out our show/release party. We don't have quite the buzz on us that Rush does, though. :)
#30 - Posted 3/5/07 @3:42PM by Robillard [contact]

I'm assuming that organic means that the new songs were allowed to evolve (relatively) spontaneously in the studio. It's well known that a lot of Rush songs came about as a result of sound check jams. Once something usable came up - a verse or chorus riff, for example - the iterative process of organization and refinement would begin. (I recall Neil mentioning in a past interview that he liked 'organized' music, at least as far as Rush was concerned.) There's a good possibility that once something acceptable was recorded in the S&A sessions, it was allowed to form the basis for the next idea or track.

This approach wouldn't necessarily preclude the use of various effects or electronics, though it is a bit more difficult to overproduce something on the fly.

Great site Ed!

When VT came out, I was still living in Dayton, OH. WTUE FM did play "One Little Victory" a few times. Now I'm living in Tampa Bay, and I'm hoping I can get The Bone FM to play "Far Cry" during their request lunch hour.

I have a question for all of you musician/producer types. What is a "bed track?"
#34 - Posted 3/5/07 @5:39PM by Vic [contact]

Man, hearing Ged's glowing comments about the process and album to go along with Alex & Neil's previously stated glowing comments about the process and album- it's just so great.

This is the first time I've been so involved in any pre-release on the web, and it's a pretty wild and cool ride. Many kudos to The Working Man for such a great and easy to use site. Thanks for fixing Time Stand Still's location by the way- it's pretty cool. Anyway, I'm really not afraid of all this unprecidented buildup setting me up for a letdown with the new album because of high expectations. Rush has never let me down with anything they have ever put out, let alone new studio releases. Neil talked about how certain tour dates are magical shows (although every show I've seen was). But as he means it, perhaps this will be one of those magical Rush albums.
#35 - Posted 3/5/07 @5:48PM by Vic [contact]

Um, yo D-man, teachers help children. That's a good thing.

"Quick to judge/quick to anger/slow to understand
Ignorance and prejudice/and fear/walk hand in hand"
#36 - Posted 3/5/07 @5:55PM by Botcherby [contact]

Oh shut up D squigle
im in high school and we give teachers a lot of crap,
it would be the coolest thing in the world if i had a teacher who was a rush fan

Anyway, I think that "organic" means less layering and obviously better production, because sometimes on VT Geddy's voice is doing 5 different things and the guitar is just blasting its crappily tinkered sound, so I'm pumped that they decided to go with more of a live feeling this time around
#37 - Posted 3/5/07 @6:08PM by Tony [contact]

I second that, Vic. I have a ton of respect for teachers. Rest assured, they put in more than your average 8 hour day. The quality of teaching in our schools today weighs heavy on the state of the world in the near future. So Kudos to the Teach! :) Now back to Rush.
#38 - Posted 3/5/07 @6:08PM by Rob [contact]

I doubt WEBN in Cincinnati will play the new single. They seem to only play Tom Sawyer and Fly by night maybe twice a day. The classic rock station in town, The Fox... doesnt play Rush at all! Guess I'll have to try WTUE in Dayton... They havent changed their format in 25 years!
#39 - Posted 3/5/07 @6:54PM by C. Felix [contact]

D--
I put in about 10 hour days.
I put in about 7-8 hour day on Saturday. You gotta grade your stuff and plan for the next week!

For the amount of hours I put in, I could get paid more at McDonald's.

FYI...My summer break is about 4 weeks long.

FYI...I busted my hump in college. 2 jobs, 18 credit hours, being a dad. Is that enough to qualify as "working for a living?"

By your post its obvious that you can read & write.
You're welcome.
#40 - Posted 3/5/07 @7:11PM by Mt. Rushmore [contact]

What's really cool about all of this...Is that everyone sounds so freaking geeked about the new album.

NEP is charged, Ged is jazzed...Sounds like the producer pushed all the right buttons for the band...and everyone talking about the project is waiting with baited breath and ears.

Even more importantly, I think the "Faith" message is exactly what the world needs to hear. It's going to turn some heads (both old and new!).

Leave it to Pratt to put some sense into what seems to be a non-sensical issue these days.

Snakes and Arrows...can't wait to play!
#41 - Posted 3/5/07 @7:13PM by yaddayadda [contact]

Tell ya what, "teacher-basher..."

We all have choices in life. Even if 9 out of 10 choices are bad, there is always that ONE choice left. It's a bit late (and kinda futile now) to complain about not taking it. You made YOUR choices, we teachers made OURS. How DARE you make such a nit-witted statement about ANY profession? Dude, WTF...how old are you, 12???

I have a suggestion for you: If you already have a college degree, go for alternative certification, and teach for ONE year. THEN come back and reflect about "how great the teachers' have it."

Felix was rather light on you...but I am P.O.'d right now, and you're lucky this is a family-friendly forum.

That had to be one of the most ridiculous things I've read on this blog EVER. God, I hope you were kidding.
#42 - Posted 3/5/07 @7:48PM by Kurt [contact]

I am sure you will all feel better knowing I am good now with the organic comment:) Ha...I get it..organic approach to recording and writing. Ed, ban D. Anybody that stupid shouldn't be allowed to post.
#43 - Posted 3/5/07 @7:50PM by chet [contact]

In all my years of being a certified rush geek, I've never really heard Geddy in an interview (when talking about a new release) say the words.. "it's hard to descibe". Could this be a good sign of things to come, or a bad one!?! I really get the feeling that he is holding back in this interview, but most likely it is because this is so far in advance of the release date... What do ya think? Could the new cd be so completely great that Geddy is at a loss for words?? Or could it be that he just doesn't have a strong opinion of it? Just some food for thought as we wait patiently for the new stuff!!
#44 - Posted 3/5/07 @7:55PM by jeanette [contact]

I'm another teacher, and another rush fan. We work hard, and we don't slouch during summers. I'm usually taking classes, and I have a master's degree.
As for RUSH, I can't wait for the new album, or for the tour!

Hey D,

Ease up. I wish I could take you on a Dickensian ghost- journey through some of my past experiences as a NYC public school teacher. You would reconsider your position.
Rush on, baby. Rush on.

I love using Rush in my classroom.

Time to talk about WW2? Lets break out "The Manhattan Project" or "Territories"

Cold War? "Heresy" Maybe even "Freeze"

And to everyone else...thanks for backing me up.

Do we actually have a female poster here? Jeanette? WOW!
#48 - Posted 3/5/07 @8:10PM by Broonskey [contact]

D is an ignorant ass not worth the time to refute.

That is all.

Oh, except I'm not so sure he can read and write, at least above a 3rd grade level that is.

I've had many great teachers over the years, and some in college that I still email and/or remember conversations and their quotes about things that changed my thinking forever. (Especially my philosophy teachers who taught me to value independent skeptical thinking and the primacy of logic, evidence, reason, and argument over psychological emotionalism, noncognitivism, and irrationalism.)

Perhaps D should read Emile by Rousseau or Dewey's Democracy and Education to try to understand what he insults? Nah, he couldn't comprehend them. The fact is that some "people" like D are just about worthless and discredit what they everyday reap the benefits from. Hey Dumb D, do you like electricity you use to power your stereo to play your Rush on? Well that exists only because of education and the dissemination of information, otherwise known as teaching. If we had it your way we'd be cracking rocks together and grunting in lieu of language. Go back to 250,000 B.C.E. to be with your kin.

P.S. I had a biology teacher in highschool who WAS a BIG Rush fan and went to the CP concert. He was great. In his room he had a fake human skeleton and a sign over it that said "Why are we here? Because we're here. Roll the bones." I kid you not. I also had a psych teacher who once commented on a Rush shirt I had on (I wore them all the time of course). He said something like "Rush. I remember them, great band." And I even had a music appreciation teacher who let us bring in our own music to play once a week and when I first brought in Rush he said that I had good taste in music and that they were a very talented group and "the most musical" of rock bands.

I should go visit my highschool and see if any of them are still there.
#49 - Posted 3/5/07 @9:09PM by Samuel Scott [contact]

BTW I have been a university professor for 13 years, have taught hundreds of grad students, my mother was a professor, I have nothing but respect for all teachers... most significantly , however, I am amzed by how absurdly sidetracked these threads can get on RIAB (D). It gets rather petty and even childish, quite frankly. Okay, I'll get off my horse now.

:)

"I think it's some of the best work we've done in years..."

What a classic understatement from Geddy. "Some" of their best work in "years". Hmm.

Anyway I believe he's just being characteristically modest. He might actually think it's the best stuff they've ever done (which Lifeson is reported to have opined), but he'd rather let history dictate that. (He's been in this predicament before.)

Cheers,

Sam

Well "D" I tried to extend the peace branch...but your last post was way out of line!!! Hey ED, if you do indeed know this guy, why allow his language??! I have two children who look to this cite for Rush info. and should not be subjected to this lack of class. "D" you baffle me and others who enjoy this cite...sometimes you make good Rush related comments and other times you sound ridiculous...will the real "D" stand up? I teach and your insult is not appreciated...I work hard and get chances on a daily basis to make an impact on people! I have used the following Rush songs to back up themes in my Literature classes:Lock and Key(with Lord of the Flies),One Little Victory(with Beowulf),2112 and Anthem(with Anthem),Countdown(poetic devices), Marathon(I give to all the runners I teach)and the list goes on...one time on the first day of school, a former student arrived to my class(10 years removed)and asked me if I wanted to meet the band(they were in town that night)...to make a long story short he had arranged for me to get a meet and greet pass(Vapor Trails) stating "you gave me the gift of Rush, now I want to give this you", what a gesture!!! It was a moment I won't forget. Rush has taught all of us many lessons and to teach another is an honor...you yourself can read their lyrics and Neil's books and this blog because of a teacher...that gift should be remembered!

My wife is in her 9th year of teaching and I will be the first to tell you she works her a** off. In her 40 week school year, she definitely works as many hours as I do all year.(I work 50 to 55 hours a week)

Comment to "D" ...As a clinical instructor for future Surgical Assistants I often used to reference "Grace Under Pressure" to remind my students how to remain calm in a hectic work environment. I would even use Natural Science references in my classes. Teachers Rock and you should be more appreciative!

I'm not a teacher, but I do have an ENORMOUS amount of respect for them. My son has ADHD, and I can testify he can be demanding at times. The amount of patience and consideration, not to mention attention, that his teacher has provided is astounding. He goes above and beyond with my son and all his students. His contribution (as with most other teachers) to society can NOT be taken so lightly.

I'm certain there are below average teachers out there, as with any profession. To paint them all with one brush stroke is unjust.

P.S. I find it amazing how many teachers are RUSH fans. Testament to the music.

First thing first... I just pulled this up and I have u guys bashing me. Or, should I say, who is trying to be me!

I have no idea as to what the hell is going on and Ed should know from the email address login that it wasnt me!

I wasnt home, nor around a computer!

I have no idea what was said as it was deleted and btw, I would never under my tongue say anything about teachers and more importantly about kids as I have 6!

Ed, am just getting ready to sit down for dinner and will try to e you tonight or 1st thing in the morning to clear this up!

Everybody, you have my word written in RUSH blood that I didnt post whatever was posted!

D~ The real D!

Suuure D. You went on a little rant like you have several times before and now you want to try to act like it wasn't you. Isn't that convenient?
#57 - Posted 3/6/07 @8:14AM by C. Felix [contact]

So...let me get this straight.

There's an imposter here. He/she has been trolling these boards, choosing someone to imitate and he/she choose you.

Then...while posing as you, he/she made the disparaging comments about teachers.

That makes about as much sense as Geddy and Alex firing Neil before the tour starts and getting John back.
#58 - Posted 3/6/07 @8:41AM by Ed [contact]

Guys,
Regarding D's deleted comment. I'm fairly certain (based on my log files) that the comment in question was *not* posted by the "real" D who regularly posts here and also emails me often. So let's please give him a break. The offending commentor just decided to pick "D" as their name but did post under a different email address and ip than the other D. The comment was also not at all consistent with the other comments/emails that D has posted in the past. This kind of thing happens sometimes when anonymous/open commenting is allowed- just the nature of things.
Carry on!
:)

Actually C, it is quite believable. There have been several instances here where posts are rude and totally off the wall. It has happened to several posters. So, yes it actually does make sense. Why someone would troll the site and try to make others look stupid is beyond me, but someone does.

Okay okay.

Its totally dropped.

So...uh...

Organic music. Made without pesticides.

To the board members,
Like you, I check the website on a daily basis for any juicy news on our boys. And I only post in here for my little fill of fun! Not with harsh words or in spite.

I am old enough to have already played my fair share of games when I was younger. But, I am old enough to not have the time to play those games such as the childish acts of stuipidity that one had choosen to play using my name!

As for what was written, I still have no clue. But, I will say this. On a daily basis, I am always dealing with 3 high school teachers and a kindergarten teacher for my children, with constant praise for their effort, choice of a job and their patience in dealing with my kids. As a father of 6 kids, I would never say anything or do anything to children!

If one wishes to be me, then I am more than happy to give you my bills and my dog. But the wife and kids stay with me!

For those that assumed that it was me, thanks for the un-needed a$$ kicking. It's still a little sore!

As to what Mark Wallace wrote, 'Why someone would troll the site and try to make others look stupid is beyond me, but someone does.' Yes, it is true. We've seen a few of them here and there and we pretty much know who they are.

But, it's just a lame act of stupidity at its best!

well...you all just gave me a reason why not to participate in a blog.

Not only sickening but disheartening.

"...get on with the fascination, ther real relation, the underlying theme...

Out.

Idle minds and idle hands...I guess that's the only explaination for posting as another...thanks for clearing this up ED...six kids "D"...a new generation of Rush fans? I think organic means a more direct approach to recording...less layering...recording the band as a whole playing together...at least that's my impression...didn't take as long to put together, will be great!!
#64 - Posted 3/6/07 @1:22PM by D- [contact]

My 10 year old went to the R30 show. (She's 10 now, so, she was 8 or so.)

I wore a Y on my shirt.
The wife had a Y.
The kid had a Z.

Maybe I'll take the WHOLE family to this S&A show. The son if 4 years old now.

I'll have a R
Wife will have a U
Daughter will have a S
Son will have a H

D:

If that wasn't you, then I for one apoligize. I know first hand what it is like for others to steal your name and post inflammatory remarks under it to make you look bad. This happened to me several times starting a few months ago and has only recently ceased (it will probably start again now that I mention it, not that I really care).

In sum: we've had a troll on this board for quite awhile that has nothing better to do than play silly 12 year old games out of spite to amuse him/herself. So we must all be wary of posts that are nothing but insulting rants written under the name of a regular from the board as they are most likely not him/her and instead this imposter(s).

Now back to your regularly scheduled Rush program. :)
#68 - Posted 3/6/07 @3:51PM by jediyyz [contact]

C. that sounds awesome!!...took my son to his first Rush concert when he was in the 5th grade(T4E)...he's been hooked ever since...now 21 and the guitarist in our band "Vital Signs"...my daughter(18) plays the bass in the band...they share vocal duties...her influence??...you guessed it...Geddy Lee...I attempt the drums...so our shared love for Rush has led us into some creativity of our own...new meaning to "the family that plays together stays together"...working on our songs and our well selected Rush covers,i.e. what we can manage to pull off, has brought us closer... it's clear Rush has given all of us a great deal!
#69 - Posted 3/6/07 @4:57PM by C. Felix [contact]

I got the idea for the shirts from Rush In Rio.
#70 - Posted 3/6/07 @6:16PM by Rob [contact]

Bought my six month old a Rush onesie a while back from the backstage club I guess its something only a Rush fan would appreciate!
#71 - Posted 3/6/07 @6:36PM by Botcherby [contact]

I wish I had a dad like "D"
my dad was a big rush fan in the 70s and early 80s but has since turned his back on them, a couple years ago i found his old MP tape and gave it a listen (been a fan ever since), he threw away the tape when he saw it :(
oh well, i still love him

Too bad Mt. Rush left the board. He missed some nice kid stories. Did anyone notice he posted at 12:21?
