New album, tour rumors: single March 13th, tour kickoff June 13th
Posted at 09:49 AM | comments (77)

UPDATE - 2/8@11:08AM: I put these in the comments but I thought they were important enough to stick up here too. Power Windows via his mysterious contact has heard of several more rumored dates. They are as follows:

Jun. 13 - Nashville, TN @ Starwood Amphitheater
Jun. 15 - West Palm Beach, FL @ Sound Advice Amphitheater
Jun. 16 - Tampa, FL @ Ford Amphitheater @ Florida State Fairgrounds
Jun. 18 - Atlanta, GA @ HiFi Buys Amphitheater
Jun. 19 - Charlotte, NC @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Jun. 27 - Mansfield, MA @ Tweeter Center
Jul. 02 - Wantaugh, NY @ Jones Beach Amphitheater
Jul. 04 - Darien Lake, NY @ Six Flags
Jul. 07 - Homdel, NJ @ PNC Arts Center

... and there's a possibility that they'll play in Maine for the first time in 20 years. Thanks PW!

-- snip --

The latest album and tour rumors hit the web yesterday evening. Apparently this comes from a source at Atlantic Records but I'm unclear on the exact origin at this time. The album title will be Snakes and Arrows with the first single titled Far Cry (possibly Farcry) to be released on March 13th. This would mean that the album will likely be released a few weeks later in early/mid April, which is consistent with what's been reported so far. As far as the tour goes, Power Windows is reporting that the tour will kickoff on Wednesday June 13th at the Starwood Amphitheater in Nashville. I'll keep you posted as I learn more.

There is a www.snakeandarrows.com that maybe could be rushesque... and I read rumours about a Rush/Gary Moore tour.

If the June 13th Tennessee date is correct, I hope to be seeing RUSH in Virginia Beach on the 15th or 16th. That would follow the R-30 tour schedule!!

Cant wait!!
#4 - Posted 02/06/2007 12:08 PM by Bob [contact]

Wonderful news. March 13 isn't that far off. I wonder if it'll be released on iTunes?

Also, funny story about titles... When Presto was in its pre-release rumor phase, I heard "on good authority" that the first single was called "Show Hotel." To this day, whenever I hear that song, I sing, "Shooowww... Hotel..."
#5 - Posted 02/06/2007 12:31 PM by D- [contact]

Waaaaaaaaa-Hooooooooo!!!

March 13th, eh? Thats 35 days away! So, tell that darn dragon to dust off the party stuff and let the countdown begin!

My memory is a little tilted this am. But, didnt Gary Moore open for em during the G/P tour? Saw him open on 2 nights at the Cow Palace in Ca. and he was kinda lame. I think that it'd be hella kewl if Vertical Horizon opened since Matt and Peart are pals.

Hope that they dont follow the R30 sch. as we are here in WA. And it takes em a while to get here. But, if its gonna be at the Gorge and White River Amp, it's worth the wait!

I know that Peart had mentioned something a while back that the lyrics were based on the Middle East and how what takes place there happens here in the US. I wonder if 'Far Cry' is a piece of that. Any thoughts?

Bob, I was busting up when I read your post. When the dj for KSJO in San Jose, Ca announced 'Dreamline' a few of us thought that it was kinda odd that Rush would be putting out a song called, 'Creamline' and we thought that it was a tune for the chicks or something. But, we knew that it was 'Dreamline'

Counterparts was rumored to be called 'Critical Mass.'

Great news...however, here's one vote for no opening act! Why?...more of what we the fans pay to here...Rush...
#9 - Posted 02/06/2007 1:00 PM by Mark Wallace [contact]

I agree with you, jetiyyz. If I am going to spend $100 for a ticket (or near that probably) I want ALL Rush!!

sorry about the name goof, jediyyz

Nashville is about and 8 hour drive for me-looks like it is time for another Rush roadtrip!!
#13 - Posted 02/06/2007 1:37 PM by Scott_In_Tampa [contact]

Since my birthday is March 12th, the single would be a great birthday present. I don't see an opening act for this. Why don't they have it listed on Amazon yet?
#14 - Posted 02/06/2007 2:14 PM by Broonskey [contact]

March 13 is one day before my (gulp) 30th birthday! Well, it will be a good way to celebrate, although I plan to be sitting at home in my old recliner with a blanket over my legs crying into my soup. :P

Good news (if it's true) about the early/mid April release instead of May, but screw gary moore, give me 3 hours of Rush! Or, if that's too strenous for them, 2 hours! I don't want to see someone that isn't even a has been because he never was anything. :P

PS: My god I don't want that album name to be right, I remember VT was rumored to be called "Humans". That was cheesy and not true, hopefully the same with this one.
#15 - Posted 02/06/2007 2:17 PM by Chris [contact]

Hopefully, it's a bit of skilled disinformation. I'm wondering if these different sources are all amplifying (as opposed to confirming) each other's information. If not, it seems reasonable that we have the correct album name.

As Dubya likes to say, "Bring it on!"
#16 - Posted 02/06/2007 2:44 PM by C. Felix [contact]

Any more tour dates anywhere on the web?
#17 - Posted 02/06/2007 2:46 PM by C. Felix [contact]

Halfcan...where you live? (I'm 8 hours or so from Nashville...but...many places are 8 hours from Nashville!)
#18 - Posted 02/06/2007 3:45 PM by Pat [contact]

Jon Anderson (of Yes) sang a song (on an album called "Requiem for the Americas") called "Far Far Cry." Now I can't get that chorus out of my head. (I like Yes, but here's hoping the Rush "Far Cry" is better.)

p.s. I really like "Snakes and Arrows" for an album title. It seems intelligent and allusive, which is a requirement for Rush.
#19 - Posted 02/06/2007 3:49 PM by Bob [contact]

Broonsky -- What's wrong with SNAKES & ARROWS as an album title? Remember that this is the same band who released albums called POWER WINDOWS, PRESTO, FLY BY NIGHT and songs called WHERE'S MY THING? and I THINK I'M GOING BALD. SNAKES & ARROWS fits nicely into the litany of previous Rush titles -- and it's way over on the 'dramatic subtext' side of the list.

I could understand your opinion if the title were MONKEYS & NUMCHUCKS. But snakes? Wicked, biblical and mysterious. Arrows? Deadly, historical, elegant, artistic. Mash them together and that pretty much sums up what we've heard about the concept of the songs.
#20 - Posted 02/06/2007 4:05 PM by Keith [contact]

Can't wait, but please no opening act, just an evening with.... I've missed 1 tour since '81 {RTB) and 2 and half hours with a 2o min break inbetween would be just fine with me..... with a warm up it might cut back some songs that they would think of doing that older Rush fans like me haven't heard in a bit like In The End...full version..... anyway great link keep up the great work............
#21 - Posted 02/06/2007 4:18 PM by Jaybird [contact]

Wonder if Far Cry will show up somewhere on the Web before the official release?
#22 - Posted 02/06/2007 4:22 PM by D- [contact]

Guess that I had my tongue backwards and hanging out somewhere for a bit there. Didnt think about, but, I was only adding that if theres an opening act that they should have Ver. Hor.

I agree with everyone that it should just be us and the guys as 'An Evening With...' It's been worth it the last few years to have the 20 min pee break and a chance to grab another brewsky.

'Snakes and Arrows' RTB's, G/P, AF2K's.... It all fits!

#23 - Posted 02/06/2007 4:40 PM by Ed [contact]

[Power Windows] also mentioned that some other sketchy dates he has heard are June 15 in West Palm, June 16 in Tampa, June 27 in Mansfield, MA; July 2nd in Jones Beach, July 4th at Darien Lake and July 7th is PNC Arts in NJ. Like I said, these are not confirmed at this point.
#24 - Posted 02/06/2007 4:40 PM by Dave [contact]

Well, we know Vertical Horizon won't be opening, seeing as Neil mentioned in Roadshow that they broke up.

Sounds like great news though. The "title" is sort of growing on me now, and hopefully Far Cry will be as kick-ass as all of us are expecting it to be!

Here is to a 2007 full of Rush!
#25 - Posted 02/06/2007 4:55 PM by Keith [contact]

PNC in jersey {still known as the garden state arts center for us locals} sounds great to me......i know its a reach but Radio City in NY was great.....was there 20 some odd years ago when the first were there and went back with my wif and son when they plated again.accoustics are great there but then again though its just a memory............

thats why i can hit phila nj and the city in 1 tour...if i cant hit that venue i can hit another etc......and by the way i made a mistake it was 1 tour i missed since 80....was at the Palladium in NYC on the Permanent Waves tour....dont think that place exists any more...remember Geddy hitting bass notes and paint chips falling off the ceiling......was anyone else there......jeez i'm getting old ........
#30 - Posted 02/06/2007 5:34 PM by Broonskey [contact]

Bob:

I don't know, I just don't like it (yet). I told my sister, for one, the rumored title name of this album and her reaction was to open her eyes wide with a look of incredulity and say: "Oh...my...god...that's retarded." And she loves Rush. I said something like: "I know, it's like they are a cheesy 80's hair band trying to sound like they are hard core, "Snakes and Arrows man, yea! Rock on! Killer! That's bad ass!" It sounds like the name of a white trash motorcycle gang, not the title of a sophisticated and intellectual progressive rock group's album.

As for their other album titles, I really only have a problem with Power Windows (Moving Pictures and T4E are kind of stupid as well). All of the others (mostly) either fit the time context of the band (FBN being a young and immature, but not corny title, dealing with the "restless dreams of youth" and being "only at home when we're on the run" and Presto reflecting a fresh and new sound as they emerged from their synth-laden 80's work) or are intelligent and well thought out titles that cohere well with the meaning of the album overall.

And regarding this title and the possible subject matter it deals with, I understand how it could tie in, but I think they could have chosen a more sophisticated title. I suggested, in another thread here, that even "Serpents and Skyhooks" would be better than "Snakes and Ladders" (if you are familiar with the philosopher Daniel Dennett you will understand the skyhook meaning in place of ladders). As for a replacement of this title, how about "Serpents and Swords"? At least that has more symbolic meaning than arrows and it goes together better.

But if it were me titling this album, I would change it to something completely different, like, off the top of my head: "Ominous Omens" or "Stirring Demons" or "Flames/Swords of Faith". Not that good, I know, but then I haven't been thinking of a title for months or even years, now have I? :P And any of those are just as good (or better) than the cheese ball title we may end up with.

Just my opinion. Perhaps, if this is truly the title, it will grow on me. I hope.

Broonskey, is there any truth in the rumour that one of the tracks on this new "Rush Go Hair Metal" album, will be called "Lick My Love Pump"?
#32 - Posted 02/06/2007 6:36 PM by Broonskey [contact]

Stfu reed you idiot. I did not say the sound will be like a hair metal band, I said the title is what I'd expect from one. Next time, learn to read before you comment, thanks. :)

As for your Rush homoerotic fantasies, that's your own issue, we don't really need to know about it, so stfu. :)

Btw, just how did my post invite insult? Take your own silly issues with me out on your bf ass, not here. Thanks again. :)
#33 - Posted 02/06/2007 7:00 PM by Reed Lover [contact]

I thought I was empathising by making a joke...

..."Lick My Love Pump" is a reference to the movie "Spinal Tap"

[Nigel is playing a soft piece on the piano]
Marty DiBergi: It's very pretty.
Nigel Tufnel: Yeah, I've been fooling around with it for a few months.
Marty DiBergi: It's a bit of a departure from what you normally play.
Nigel Tufnel: It's part of a trilogy, a musical trilogy I'm working on in D minor which is the saddest of all keys, I find. People weep instantly when they hear it, and I don't know why.
Marty DiBergi: It's very nice.
Nigel Tufnel: You know, just simple lines intertwining, you know, very much like - I'm really influenced by Mozart and Bach, and it's sort of in between those, really. It's like a Mach piece, really. It's sort of...
Marty DiBergi: What do you call this?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, this piece is called "Lick My Love Pump".

Broonskey, I really do not understand why you reacted like that but I will make damn certain it doesnt happen again.

Tony, Broonskey was apparently only about 6 or 7 when Spinal Tap came out so he may have missed the reference for what it was. However an oldie (48 this year) like me got it straight away...and I'm still laughing - both at your joke and for Broonskey's apparent misunderstanding of it. But you're quite right; regardless of all of that, personal insults are really not necessary, and they seem to be popping up more and more here, which is a shame. That said, I'm sure Broonskey will (hopefully) apologise when he sees the error.

I'm totally Losing It hearing all the new news about the new album/tour....

I WANT IT NOW!!! LOL

Thanks for all the updates!!
#38 - Posted 02/06/2007 7:52 PM by Rob [contact]

Broonskey, I may not agree with you on certain subjects but you seem like a pretty intelligent guy who seems to put thought into what you say, but not everyone(maybe the guy who impersonates you) is trying to insult you. I've never seen Spinal tap so the reference went right over my head. Please do not let the comment I'm leaving be taken in a negative light but please chill a little okay?.............Hell! we got new Rush to talk about!
#39 - Posted 02/06/2007 7:54 PM by Steve [contact]

I hear you, LakesideMaiden! As I posted in another thread, I'm like an excited kid waiting for the Candy Store to open! I suppose at my age some may say that's a little tragic...but not Rush fans...right? ;)
#41 - Posted 02/06/2007 8:47 PM by Kurt Smith [contact]

Oh, Geddy, Alex and Neil, PLEASE play The Camera Eye this tour! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!

I am not bothered by the title. I thought Presto and Power Windows were silly titles and I love both of those albums. Can't wait for the new one.
#42 - Posted 02/06/2007 9:31 PM by Jordan [contact]

Hey has anyone heard about a date in Pittsburg,PA? I know it's kinda early but I was just wondering. I can't wait for the cd to come out and the tour to start.
#43 - Posted 02/06/2007 10:24 PM by Samuel Scott [contact]

I am mystified by the concerns regarding the title of the new Rush album, especially with respect to the comments of Broonskey.

In my opinion, every one of Rush's album titles makes sense, and they have all become intriguing at least retrospectively. In fact, Moving Pictures and Power Windows were especially strong titles. My opinion.

"Snakes and Arrows" may not run off the tongue easily. However, I think we shall conclude later that the title is not only apporpriate but inclined artistically. I've read a bit about the origin of the title and find it to be very interesting. I also like the fact that this putative title falls into the line of plural nouns (e.g., permanent waves).
#44 - Posted 02/06/2007 10:34 PM by Dino [contact]

Reed;

Hilarious!

Broonskey, if you get a chance, rent the movie. It's cheesy in an 80's style, but Rob Reiner did a great job. Easier to laugh at if you grew up in the 80's but you'll likely appreciate what Reed was saying.

As for the title... I've seen worse, and really I don't mind it. To be honest, once it's in my player, I'm more interested in the music.

I think Reed made a good observation. In Spinal Tap, they REALLY had a field day with playing on titles.
#45 - Posted 02/06/2007 11:06 PM by Broonskey [contact]

Ok, so I came back after being out and see all of this.

Reed, I don't buy the innocent act. Bullshit. If you were just making a light joke or movie reference, you wouldn't have addressed me personally, or at least put a smiley such as: :) :P or ;) behind your post so I would've known you were only kidding.

Instead your post reads like I am insulting Rush by implying that they are now a "hair metal band" (I did not and first insult towards me) and you are thus defending Rush by insulting me back via making a gay song title reference as if I would know or be interested in such a title because I myself am gay (second insult, not that there's anything wrong with being homosexual, but I'm not).

That's how I read it, and that's what it says. You may have fooled less intelligent posters here you meant no malintent, but not me. And don't dare go on to pretend to be holy than thou and complain about this "bs" when you deliberately tried to start something. STFU hypocrite.

Btw, I do know about Spinal Tap but never watched the movie as I thought it just looked stupid. But even if that was a mere reference to that movie, it still stands as directed entirely at me right behind a caricature of what I really said about the album title (being what a hair band would name on of their albums, not that they are turning into one) and implying I'm gay. It thus stands as clear insult, regardless of it's origin. The end.

Neil: Yes ad hominems are unnecessary, but tell that to Reed. I will defend myself when warranted.

Rob: Thanks and noted. But I still maintain that it was a deliberate insult, and given the number of attacks I get here when I have posted nothing myself in a thread that would give rise to them, I will remain wary.

Steve: Not even worth a comment...opps.

Ed: Just delete the offending posts. This childish drama is insufferable.

/ends posting in this thread.

PS: "Far Cry" is a excellent song title, if it is indeed one on this next album.
#46 - Posted 02/06/2007 11:36 PM by Dino [contact]

Broons,

Yes, the movie has it's low points, but with McKean, Shearer and Guest doing some of the writing (ad libbing) it's a pretty good spoof of the 80's metal era.
#47 - Posted 02/06/2007 11:40 PM by Halfcan [contact]

Wow I stumbled onto the Drama Queen thread-lol

We need some new Rush music to calm everyones nerves.

I like Snakes and Arrows and will buy several copies.
#48 - Posted 02/07/2007 2:46 AM by tygr [contact]

Here's another vote for no opening act. I don't think there's much chance of that happening, though. How would they pare down the set list enough to fit in an opening act? (o;} I imagine the boys are already agonizing over getting it down to less than three hours.

Ok, things I'd like to see/hear:

Jack Black on the intro video.

A reprise of "Heart Full Of Soul" unplugged.

Bigger dryers for Geddy's backline. tee hee

Tour stops in Tampa (or Orlando), Atlanta, and Dallas. If they hit DFW I'm gonna take my sister to her first REAL rock and roll show!

Songs we haven't heard live in a while. If they don't have time to program a light/video sequence, I'd rather see 'em play under simple lights than get RTB with the same vid, for example.

Of course, bottom line is that this tour is gonna ROCK no matter what. It is RUSH, after all! (o;}
#49 - Posted 02/07/2007 5:23 AM by Ryan [contact]

Listen guys, all I know is that I don't care what the title is, bring on the tunes!
#50 - Posted 02/07/2007 6:19 AM by Jaybird [contact]

If memory serves me, RUSH has not played in Orlando in a while. They've been going to Tampa/St Pete.

Given that Orlando is a fairly large populated metro area, why are they not able to get RUSH there? If they don't have a 10,000 or so concert pavilion that most big cities/areas do, why not?

Thanks.
#51 - Posted 02/07/2007 8:08 AM by Bob [contact]

Jaybird -- Based on ROADSHOW and Alex being attacked by the Naples police, it seems like Rush isn't too keen on Florida. So I'd imagine they'd limit the tour stops there to the bare essentials.
#52 - Posted 02/07/2007 8:32 AM by Rubinowits [contact]

Dear Dirk, Lerxst and Pratt: Please no more covers and no more acoustic softies. I go to Rash shows for full band assault and Rash songs only. OY!

Yarmouth (yär'məth) , city (1991 pop. 7,781), SW N.S., Canada, on the Atlantic Ocean. It is a port, with exports of lumber, fish, berries, and Irish moss. Manufactures include wood products, iron castings, and textiles. Yarmouth, a summer resort and tourist center, has two ferry connections with Maine. The region was visited (1604) by Champlain, who named it Cap Fourchu, and it became a French fishing settlement. In 1759 a few settlers came to the site of the city from Yarmouth, Mass., and called it after their former home. The city was founded in 1761, when a larger group of settlers came from Sandwich, Mass. They were followed by Acadians (1767) from the Grand Pré district and by United Empire Loyalists (1785).
#54 - Posted 02/07/2007 9:55 AM by Jaybird [contact]

Good point Bob but I think it's more about Orlando not having a 8-10,000 seat pavilion. And that's puzzling.
#55 - Posted 02/07/2007 10:10 AM by Lamb Saag [contact]

I hope Alex, Geddy, and Neil do not bother to read most of these posts, because they would surely roll their eyes in disgust at the immature ranting of know-it-all pseudo-intellectuals like this Broonsky.

What an insult to the band you profess to love to say that their newest album title doesn't suit your tastes. And then to have the gall to offer something "off the top of your head" and admitting that even yours aren't than good, well, that's just shameful.

But the most contemptible statement Broonsky offers is "...but then I haven't been thinking of a title for months or even years, now have I?"

No, Broonsky, but Alex, Geddy, and Neil have been. We assume they have a well-informed rationale for how to express themselves creatively, and they don't need to consult the judgments of the masses in hopes of pleasing them/us. It's pointless (and inconsiderate) to second-guess or critique creative decisions that we don't fully understand.

Broonsky, I have not intentionally insulted you (even though I would really like to). Rise above your pettiness, and for your own good watch Spinal Tap, and read Aesop's "The Fox and The Grapes"

Flame on.
#56 - Posted 02/07/2007 11:00 AM by Bob [contact]

Hey Jaybird -- That's very true. And perhaps Orlando, with all of its theme parks, is too high a risk for a marquee reading: "Puppet Show and Rush." (Sorry. Another SPINAL TAP reference. Couldn't resist.)

And Rubinowits -- The acoustic pieces are important in terms of dynamics and texture within the concert. The acoustic version of RESIST is one of the most moving compositions Rush has ever assembled. But I'm sure they'd be happy to dump it because you want to be assaulted. Heh. Wink-wink and all that.
#57 - Posted 02/07/2007 11:24 AM by Kurt [contact]

As I have stated in the past a video of Sam Jackson saying, "Snakes...get these mother&^^$^ snakes off my album!" would be priceless.

Lamb, your right Rush doesn't have to explain themselves. And as I have read from here before Chutes and Ladders originated from a game called Snakes and Arrows and dealt with "life, and faith".

Broonsky: Your initial reaction was mine as well. Wow that title sounds a bit cheesy, but for the most part I don't care. I think the overall point is that for the diehards they could call it "lick my love pump" and we would buy it and like it, but for the masses Snakes and Arrows might come across as a old hair metal act, the masses would not understand the full meaning of the title within the context of the material. I realize Rush isn't all that concerned with the masses, but trust me they want to keep getting new fans. Hopefully people are more interested in the music not the titles.

All in all I am bubbling with excitement at some new and hopefull well produced material. Do I listen to leaks before the 13th or not...hmmm.....(of course I will!)

All I know for sure is that I have NEVER bought (or not bought) a Rush Album, 8-Track, Cassett, CD, or DVD based on the Title, cover art, or individual track titles.

I buy them because it is Rush and I LIKE Rush!

Bring it on, whatever the title.

Jaybird. I understand it had to be done to satisfy themselves and that's fine. I'm not saying it sucked. It just seemed unfamiliar and perhaps unnecessary to me. I appreciate that it gave time for Neil to take a break and that's good. There's plenty of texture and dynamics without the acoustic pieces. Either way I'm sure we'll both dig the upcoming shows.

Damn, it's been busy in here, love pumps, Broonsky, blah, blah and blah then back to Broonsky. Gotten kinda old! Come on guys, stick with the subject and ignore the lame rants!

Anyway, I wonder what Hugh has done for the cover.

Any dates yet for Washington state?

Lets hope Hugh is more creative than a Snake wrapped around an arrow.

Broonskey, how you can arrive at your conclusions based on my post is beyond me. I was going to add "LOL" at the end of my post or ";-)" but didnt, my bad obviously. Maybe I was kinda busy, maybe my wife called me to the dinner table, maybe a knock at the door...whatever c'mon man why react like that to an innocent remark?

In the words of another 80's great movie...

Broonskey, lighten up

If you know the movie great and if not who cares???

I am of the ilk that whatever the title, the artwork or the schedule just bring on the tunes!
#64 - Posted 02/07/2007 5:15 PM by D- [contact]

Heres a quote from the 90's that touched us all, so to speak... 'Why cant we all just git along?'

Kurt - Hugh can be creative with a snake around an arrow and it'll look freakingly awesome. When the rest of us'll (me incl) make it look like fingerpainting... LOL!!!

Bob, am with you... Bring on the tunes! I'm ready for a new one to rawk to!!!

He did a hell of a job on Vapor Trails, I am quite excited to see it. I am glad they stick to their guns and do what they like to do as artists. I remember hearing One Little Victory for the first time... how sweet was that!? I hope Far Cry will be as powerful!

Didn't know that Orlando is without a suitable venue. Interesting, if true. I'm in the panhandle, and Tampa is good, as is Atlanta. They hit both for R30 and I caught 'em twice in three days. SWEET!

Orlando doesn't have an amphitheatre and Rush has a stated preference for them. Besides, the Orlando Arena (Amway Arena) is a barn that's showing its age.

Thanks, EW! I would prefer a cooler time of year for an outdoor tour, but whenever and wherever...sign me up! (o;}

Hey Lads and Ladies! Everyone hating the rumored album title(s) do me a favor. Suggest a better one. You know, what do you think it should be called? Obviously if you think its a bad title you must know more then a few details like the names of the songs, the number of songs, the lyrics/sound/vibe/style of the songs, whether there are instrumentals or not, whether it is a 'concept' album or not, which songs were born to play live and which we will never see/hear live. Share your knowledge because I KNOW none of us would ever judge a book by its cover. Now I know what you are thinking "we aren't judging the album, just the name!" But that's kinda my point. My guess it whatever name they pick will be perfect and will serve the album, just like every other album title. Respectfully disagreeing with some of you, how the bleepity bleep can anyone dislike Moving Pictures or Power Windows as album names? My goodness that's so wacky to me it makes my dizzy. Oh well, I guess that's why God invented Coke AND Pepsi. I supposse all of this is just us rabid fans sinking our teeth and brain cells into any tidbit we get in anticipation of what is bound to be another Rush miracle. I just cringe when I see people dismiss (or love for that matter) an album based on a rumored title.

I gotta better album title!

Arrows and Snakes!

(sorry...couldn't resist [anything but temptation])

Wow. I think this breaks the Rushisaband.com record for number of comments. Anyhoo.. [Power Windows] posted a couple more rumored dates on [Counterparts]. He must have some good contacts! Here's what he said- "June 18 is Atlanta , June 19 is Charlotte and a possibility of playing in Maine for the first time in over 20 years!"

Ed,

Just wait till the first snippet of a new song is out....good lord we may hit 200.

I acquiesce just me new material I don't care what its called. Still love the "lick my love pump" reference. I wonder if Alex's guitars go to 11?

The West Palm Beach tour stop is interesting. Knowing what took place in Naples, I think many of us figured RUSH would never play in the southern part of the state again.

Kind of their way of saying, we're not going to let it bother us or keep us from playing for our fans down there. Naples and West Palm Beach are on opposite sides of the state but close enough in Alex's mind I would imagine.

Well . . . . nothing's a worse, more obtuse title than "Test For Echo", but somehow we all got used to it and some even LIKE it (not sure how that can be but it's true ;) )

Looking foreward to a GREAT record !!! - MitA

Sure would be nice if Rush would take I Mother Earth along as an opening act. Heck I'd pay double to see that :)
