Alex Lifeson at the 24th annual Gemini Awards

UPDATE - 11/17@4:56PM: Reader UltimoGuitarist watched Alex present and had this to report:

Alex was pretty nervous in front of all those people without a guitar in hand from what I could tell. He stumbled on his words a little bit, and his voice was pretty shaky, and it looked really obvious that his speech was being read on a screen. He also made a joke and paused for laughter and you could hear crickets chirp. Felt bad for him, but it's good that he would attempt to do something outside of his comfort zone like that.

There's still no video of this available as far as I know.

The 24th annual Gemini Awards took place yesterday evening at the Stampede Corral in Alberta, Canada and was broadcast live on Global and Showcase. As we learned this past Tuesday, Alex Lifeson was in attendance to present an award to the Trailer Park Boys and was photographed with them on the red carpet preceding the ceremony as shown in the above photos (click on the thumbnails). Several news stories came out today covering the event and make mention of Alex including this Sun Media story:

... Grey-haired Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson paid tribute to the Trailer Park Boys, who got a standing ovation -- and a freaked-out Bubbles wet his pants. ...

As far as I know there is no video of Alex's presentation online. As I discover any video and/or photos I will add them to this post.
