S&A liveUPDATE - 4/24@11:24AM: Attendance/Capacity (Sales): 6,855/9,598 ($740,155).

UPDATE - 4/13@10:11AM: The guys over at The Rush Tour Forum have created a new RushTour.com Banner to haul along with them on the 2008 leg. They'd created one on the first leg and carried it to nearly every show and got 100s of fans to sign it. They got off to a good start for the 2008 leg and got Big Al Lifeson himself to autograph the banner! Pictures and details at this link. Thanks to Ray for the heads up.

UPDATE - 4/12@12:24AM: There are already a bunch of pics up on Rush.com in the Multimedia: Rush on the Road section from rehearsals and tonight's show. Thanks to Walter H for the heads up.

UPDATE - 4/11@11:20PM: Show's over and it followed the rehearsal setlist as reported by Hemisferios yesterday morning exactly. Details on the encore below the fold. That's it for tonight's updates. Many, many thanks to reader Justin for his up-to-the-minute reports from Puerto Rico. Good night!

UPDATE - 4/11@8:08PM: A couple of local guys (DJs?) came out at about 7:55 and said a few words, but as of 8:05 the show hadn't started yet. By the way, these up-to-the-minute updates are coming via text message from reader Justin.

UPDATE - 4/11@7:50PM: Looks like the scheduled 7:30 start time was delayed; people are still making their way into the venue.

UPDATE - 4/11@3:20PM: If anyone still doubts the rehearsal setlist (SPOILERS), go checkout the gallery page (SPOILER). There's a cellphone photo of tonight's setlist written on a piece of paper and attached to guitar pedals which was taken by a member of the stage crew and uploaded to Puerto Rican rock site Pulsorock. Thanks to yoninrush for the heads up. I guess we'll all know for certain in a few hours anyways though. :)

Rush will be kicking off the Snakes & Arrows Live tour tonight in San Juan, Puerto Rico at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico. Rush has never played Puerto Rico before so fans on the island are in for a real treat. The band arrived in San Juan earlier this week and conducted a full production rehearsal Wednesday evening. For details on the rehearsal setlist check out this post (SPOILER). Assuming my contacts come through for me I'll be posting tonight's setlist (with appropriate spoiler warnings) as it happens as well as any other interesting tidbits to this thread. I have no reason to believe it'll be any different than the rehearsal setlist, but you never know - maybe they'll surprise us.

Date/Time: Friday, April 11th @ 7:30PM

Sorry NWF, first time being first.. and it's my b-day! Boy, Rush really knows how to celebrate!!
#8 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:08PM by Fiat

Well, we're about to see whether or not Rush still has it in them to get through a US Recession tour. Should be some interesting conversations coming up here.
#9 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:08PM by New World Fan [contact]

What is being played in that little video.
#10 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:09PM by New World Fan [contact]

?

Damn it.
#11 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:14PM by SnowDoggy [contact]

If the setlist is what was posted here(which I believe it is), the very weak ticket sales thus far are going to hit a brick wall.

God I hope I'm wrong about the setlist.

The thought of them having gigs cancelled on them like Spinal Tap is depressing.
#12 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:21PM by Fiat

#11 I think there will be a real danger of this for them? We could be looking at Down the Tubes Tour 2008
#13 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:23PM by BajaJoe [contact]

Snowdoggy and any other people putting out bad vibes - please stop the negativity now. Or, if you can't help yourself, post some more in yesterday's blog's. I want to enjoy the "rush" of Rush and hear what people are liking. Tour starts tonight!!! Yeahh!!!

Thank you!
#14 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:28PM by SnowDoggy [contact]

me too Fiat.

It's not all their fault. I know for a fact that sales are drastically down across the board at Ticketmaster. Only the real mainstram supergroups can fill arenas in this economy.

I think Rush Nation is waiting for the setlist to be official before buying tickets. I know that's the case with me.

Opening Night isn't even near full. That should tell you something. This site has been sugarcoating the reality of how poor sales really are.

And everytime someone dares bring that up in here they are called names and labeled "not a real fan".

Rude Awakening could be on the way
#15 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:30PM by jbm009 [contact]

I really think that this set list was designed for Puerto Rico where they have never played live before. I think that once they are in the US, there maybe other changes. Not right away, but perhaps on a day off they may practice another song or two.

I haven't commented here yet but I'm not sure why they are keeping these songs:

Between The Wheels
Spindrift
Way The Wind Blows
Natural Science

These should be swapped out with album congruent tunes...

Enemy Within or even DEW
Faithless
We Hold On
Jacob's Ladder

Seems downright lazy to me, but hey just one man's opinion. Look I LOVE Natural Science, but sheesh we've now seen it on every tour but R30. BTW is getting old very quickly.

And if they love Snakes so much why not play more of the album? Trust me - they have had plenty of time to create new videos and lighting for those songs.

No Setlist will ever be perfect, but I think Rush should have made more changes since they are touring again within a year.
#16 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:32PM by SnowDoggy [contact]

ok Baja - we'll stop. I guess you are right. This site is for Rush Cheerleaders only. No logical or alternative viewppoints are tolerated.

Enjoy the Shows All. And believe me, nothing would make me happier than being dead wrong.
#17 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:33PM by driventotheedge [contact]

Snow mutt enough of the negativity we have got your message
#18 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:35PM by Broon

The setlist won't change. They didn't rehearse long enough to substantially change last year's - they only rehearsed for 2 weeks. Whether or not they get butts in seats this leg - well, they've already pocketed their guarantee. And yeah, they're going to some different markets and there are people who didn't get to see them last year and there are substantial walk-ups. Do you people really think they don't know their business this?????
#19 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:36PM by jbm009 [contact]

Another thought...

With ticket sales low, wouldn't this be a good time for Rush to test out some songs never played live before? So how the audience reacts? If I were them I would play...

Faithless
Vapor Trail
Nocturne
Freeze
Presto
Available Light
Red Tide
The Weapon
Marathon

Play some of the 82 - 2002 material that has never been played live, test it out, see how the audience reacts for the next tour. You know if Rush waits until 2011 or 12 to tour again ticket sales will be robust.

So why not play around a bit on this tour? Alternate songs, see what works... They have a great opportunity here to have some fun and not take the show so seriously.
#20 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:38PM by scottc [contact]

jbm009 - I was thinking that as well. Maybe they will slant this setlist for PR and then other previously unvisited cities. An 'A' and 'B' setlist if you will.

I don't have a problem with the S&A tunes, just wished they would have switched them up. If it still remains the case that they are playing the 5 in a row after intermission, I may not worry about hurrying back to my seat. -that's what's really grinding my gears..

Part of me wants to believe they are going to give us more

I would rather have the entirety of Snakes and cut Dreamline, BTW, even Natural Science.

I can't connect the dots on that Billboard interview with Alex. could be a bit of spin from the head office
#21 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:42PM by glortiz [contact]

Ok, let's put this set list to bed. The last time Rush toured for a live album was Exit Stage Left. Below is a link and the set list from the Moving Pictures and Exit Stage Left tours. I don't think they lost any ticket sales on the latter tour or on subsequent tours.

Let's put this subject to rest.

Exit...Stage Left Tour
October 30, 1981 - December 22, 1981
Album released: October 1981

Tourdates
Opening Band: Riot
Setlist
The setlist for this tour was virtually identical to the Moving Pictures tour, with the exception of adding an early version of "Subdivisions" while dropping "Natural Science". Although the setlist remained the same throughout most of this tour, "Hemispheres (Prelude)" and "Xanadu" were dropped from the setlist during the Germany dates. Precendent for shorter German shows was set during the Tour of the Hemsipheres when they dropped "Something for Nothing" and "Cygnus X-1", and it would later occur during the Signals New World Tour when "Chemistry" and "The Camera Eye" were dropped. Possibly a shorter setlist is required in Germany due to time constraints, but that is unconfirmed.

2112 (Overture/Temples of Syrinx)
Freewill
Limelight
Hemispheres (Prelude) (dropped during Germany dates)
Beneath, Between and Behind

The Way the Wind Blows isn't going anywhere. They've repeatedly introduced it by calling it "one of [their] faves" and for that reason I wouldn't expect to see it rotated out. Alex apparently really likes WTA, so that's not going anywhere either. (Thankfully, since it's one of my dad's favorite Rush songs)
#23 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:43PM by scottc [contact]

we thought we should maybe revisit some older songs we're not playing currently or haven't been in the last little while. So we changed out a few songs in the set. We're gonna keep it loose and maybe kind of bounce back and forth."

I want to believe. Really!

good day BajaJoe and Driventotheedge, great posts......anyway, today is a very exciting day, i'm excited and happy for the people down in PR, you guys and girls are in for something special tonight.....enjoy.........Love the new shirts, they really did a fine job on these, and the shirts for the ladies are really cool 2, i'm getting them for my girlfriend for sure.........NWF, are you really going to make it over???
#25 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:50PM by BajaJoe [contact]

Alternative viewpoints are tolerated just fine and even interesting in moderation. I just ask that you pick your spots and not infect every blog topic on what definitely is a mostly "cheerleader" web site. Worrying about the future of Rush on the opening night topic seems a bit defeatist. That's all.

Most of us participate in this blog because we like Rush. Their music is a wonderful escape and being a fan is mostly about enjoying something with others who feel the same way.

I love Natural Science!!! Pound me into the seats with bass!!
#26 - Posted 4/11/08 @12:54PM by New World Fan [contact]

Hopefully dude.
HOPEFULLY!!!!!!

I need tickets very soon though so I'll say this again:

If anyone is so upset with the setlist that they decide to sell their tickets then PLEASE TELL ME!!!

Tickets are for the June 15th MA show.

Anyone going to the Atlantic City show on July 4th?
#31 - Posted 4/11/08 @1:17PM by Andrei [contact]

Ant ticket(just one) for Edmonton? I really don´t care if they play the same setlist, it´s just great to still having them playing for us and like in a post i read yesterday, maybe in 10 years from now we can regret and wished to have seen them in this tour for a few a times.

Cheers

My feeling is that Hemi was listening to someone playing the Snakes & Arrows 'LIVE' CD over the PA..Rush were off having a beer somewhere on the beach....oh bugger one can only hope!

Snowdoggy, Fiat, Sean, et al...

You are not true fans. A true fan is a mechanical device used to produce an airflow for the purpose of creature comfort, ventilation, exhaust, or any other gaseous transport.
#34 - Posted 4/11/08 @1:33PM by steve_M [contact]

Saying that...looking for FLOOR Austin seats. As somebody so eloquently said before "I'd pay to see Rush arm-fart YYZ" so setlist be damned!
#35 - Posted 4/11/08 @1:37PM by Snoscootr [contact]

Well tonights the night! Start of Part Deux of Snakes and Arrows Tour! Only 2 months till we see the boys in Mass. (Maybe I'll see you there NWF, sorry no extra tickets) Maybe if the crowds are smaller I can get closer to stage! :)Only four shows this tour (due to the economy :))was hoping to do 5 because that would make my 30th show in 30 years of seeing Rush and my teenage sons 10th show in 2 years, but alas he will have to settle for 9. Maybe on the next tour. It was really awesome to see his reaction at his 1st RUSH Concert, and 2nd, 3rd, and then last minute I said want to go to Cinncinatti and Columbus for labor day and see Rush, and he said when we leaving :)

As far as the setlist goes, I like they will change it up a bit, of course I have a dozen personal favorites I would love to hear, but I look at it this way. I have seen lots of groups in the past 30+ years, and seen some of them multiple times, but RUSH is one of only a few bands that still has original members, still plays their a$$ off in concert, and still puts out music worth listening to IMHO.
Every album has at least one song that seems to relate to something in my life at that particular time (weird I know)

To everyone going tonight Have a great time, and don't forget to post info up here so all of us going later in the tour can drool about what we are missing tonight!
#36 - Posted 4/11/08 @1:44PM by scottc [contact]

well put, Snoscootr

I think tonight I will sit by my computer listening to rush tunes and drinking puerto rican rum while waiting for updates of the show tonight.

Good call Red!

We should all be tipping one back in honor of tonight!
#40 - Posted 4/11/08 @1:58PM by New World Fan [contact]

Maybe you will Sno. Man after all the upset about NOT getting to go something has answered my... grumbles.
How cool would that be. I haven't even known about Rush for a full year yet and before I have I might have been to 2 shows, a tribute show, joined a Rush blog, bought all the albums(just got S&A Live to get), bought a whole lot of merchandise(totally want them boxer shorts), and a lot more.

Cooool!

I think so...

I HOPE SO!!!

A wife and a girlfriend huh? Lucky you. LOL

Cheers to RUSH tours, albums and similar-to-before setlists.
Joking.
#47 - Posted 4/11/08 @2:13PM by Snoscootr [contact]

Well NWF to quote Prime Mover "Anything Can Happen"!

It's funny, when we first went to see RUSH "Back in the old days", before the Internet (hehe) we found out what was playing by going. Maybe you would talk with someone who saw the last show. And we used to buy whatever seats we could and try and work our way to the floor, and then toward the front. Now as age sets on it is worth a higher premium to get seats closer and closer to the stage (Cant see as well ) :) Besides nothings better than 15th row or better!!

As far as the boxers go WTMI (though I was thinking that all the people who caomplain about everything and still end up going to show should be forced to wear them to the concert :)

SPOLUSEH-Canadian for Spoil Us?

i wish you great luck,NWF!! my heart goes out to those who havent had the pleasure of seeing this band!! wish i could be there with you just to see the look on your face!! lol

Not sure what to make of all this hub-bub. According to Alex himself, RUSH got to Puerto Rico early and were going to go through "a few days of production rehearsals". I find it unusual that they wouldn't rehearse THE NIGHT BEFORE OPENING NIGHT. Moreover, that they would hold only ONE production rehearsal, after being in PR almost a week. The equipment arrived on Sunday, April 6th. So, from the 6th to today they only had ONE rehearsal? Sounds fishy to me.

Also, Alex himself points out in the interview from PR with Geddy, that they've "dropped a few songs, switched out a few songs and added a few songs to the show." From what I'm reading from the other posts (I haven't seen the setlist yet), there isn't much of a change to the setlist from the first leg. Certainly not in length. This begs the question of who to believe. Alex or Hemispherios? I realize that the information on this blog is usually very, very, very accurate and the sources are reliable. However, much of the latest information does NOT jive with what the band themselves have said.

I would urge caution in putting too much emphasis in any "setlist". The only way to know for sure is to wait until tonight, or just go see them and be pleasantly surprised.

Just my .02 cents.
#50 - Posted 4/11/08 @2:28PM by New World Fan [contact]

WTMI? What's that mean?

I will be buying a pair if I get to go and will be going to the bathroom to put them on(if we get there on time).

Story to that-Getting There On Time: Traffic jams on the road to Glasgow... to cut a long story short, we got there, got the red Armor & Sword shirt and as I was paying the crowd cheered and it started. Took me 2.7 something seconds to make out the opening riff to Limelight and... well had the best night ever(so far). Ahh good memories

Anyway I'll be getting a pair or maybe even 2 pairs(one pair a bit larger in case I ever get phat.
Looking forward to it.

I too was under the impression you hadn't seen RUSH yet either. Well at least your cherrys popped! :)

Are you in the Mass area?

Oh yeah, a great night in the history of my life.

Will never forget it(until I'm like Geddy who can't even remember any songs after Big Money(see the press conference video)LOL).

Here RUSH fans, what up in here?

Just got back from a 6 hour car trip. Guess what rock band I listened to for 6 straight hours????

Hope to have a CONFIRMED setlist soon. I'm pretty stoked for the live CD to hit the streets soon.

Necromancer2112 -- yes, time will indeed tell. I'm seeing the boys the first U.S. gig (this Sunday). And I'm going in preparing to be pleasantly surprised.

You know, I'm getting upset now. I come on here every night around 3.45-4pm ish and the next time I look round it's dark.

It's happened every night this week.

Yup I'm Scottish... Have been all my 15 years of life. Will be for a while yet.

HI..my 1st post here.I live in Puerto Rico and of course i'm going to see Rush Tonite.I can say that the spoiler setlist posted yesterday here is confirmed.A guy who works with the stage crew at the Choliseo took a picture of the setlist with his cellphone. He Posted at the puertorican rock site Pulsorock.com..If you wanna go see it..go link and go to the music forum and look for the rush in puerto rico thread..It is the same setlis as posted yesterday..
#65 - Posted 4/11/08 @2:48PM by Snoscootr [contact]

Ahh Scotland a land that inspired "resist" sounds like an expensive venture to come all the way over, so I guess the others shouldn't be complaining about spending money for tickets and gas eh?

We will be on summer vacation for a week in Florida till June 14, then off to Mansfield the 15th, and a 2 hour drive home and back to work @ 7AM Monday for me. The price we have to pay.

Then 3 shows in July, and sadly I guess that will be it for a while :(

Hi everyone, I was poking around for tickets to the MA show and of course all of the section 2 tickets are running 400-800 dollars per ticket (scalper prices). I tried ticketmaster and section 5 and 8 came for 70.00 plus all of the fees. I sat in this section for the last tour and wanted to be closer, however I can't imagine paying 400-800 to sit (stand!) in the front. Does anyone else feel the same way? I just don't have that kind of cash to give it to a scalper knowing the true ticket prices. Rush has been my all time favorite band and I would really love to be up front as I never have. I have always settled for the middle or the back because of price.
PS: I could care less what they play, I just want to hear RUSH! Perhaps they could tap-dance a couple of tunes?

#15 Enemy within is one of my most fav rush tunes.
#86 - Posted 4/11/08 @3:26PM by sth2112 [contact]

anemonewithin, If you're short on money then don't do it man. Don't encourage them, they're getting the best seats, I just wonder what they do with the tickets if they have some left at showtime.

Anyway Necromancer just finished, what about you necro?
OK but when does the real thing start?
#94 - Posted 4/11/08 @3:38PM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT SONG,NWF!!
#95 - Posted 4/11/08 @3:39PM by vinnyd33401 [contact]

The Foo Fighters and Santana are for the U.S. shows... :)

Seriously, though. My point is that there's some discrepancy between the "setlist" posted and what Alex himself has said in the Puerto Rico interview. From what I've read in previous posts (I haven't seen the setlist), the setlist hasn't changed much, and the number of songs is the same. Alex clearly stated that the number of songs would be increased in the interview. He specifically said they've added songs TO THE SHOW, in addition to dropping a few songs and adding a few others.

Plus, as I posted previously, I find it hard to believe that Alex himself said they were going to have "a few days of production rehearsals", yet only one "rehearsal" was heard, and there was NO rehearsal the NIGHT BEFORE the opening show.

I guess we'll all have to wait and see. I wouldn't put too much stock in ANYTHING.
#96 - Posted 4/11/08 @3:40PM by sth2112 [contact]

My dads friends with a scalper (believe it or not hes a good guy!) They usually always get rid of there tickets. By the night before or even 15 minutes till show time.
Or they'll just take there tickets and go to the show.

Thats how i got my tix last year, 12th row in seattle, about halfway through the show my dads friend(the scalper) just came walkin in and watched about an hour of the show!
#97 - Posted 4/11/08 @3:40PM by anemonewithin [contact]

NWF, I always have wondered how "they" get the up-front seats and the fans get first-come-first-serve to the back of the venue.

Saw it. Don't believe it. Anybody can do that in Photoshop. Do you honestly think that anyone in Rush's "inner circle" would violate the trust Rush placed in them by posting this setlist? And, do you think that anyone working for the Puerto Rican stage crew would be able to snap this with a cell phone without someone from Rush's crew confiscating or deleting the photo?

I refer everyone to the video interview of Alex and Geddy in Puerto Rico. 1:20 seconds into the interview Alex discusses the setlist. Songs are added "TO THE SHOW". If the amount of songs is the same in the "setlist", there's a discrepancy. Always default to THE BAND when there's a question.
#106 - Posted 4/11/08 @4:00PM by New World Fan [contact]

VERY TRUE. I just have to wonder... would hermy really do something that cruel... uh, I don't know him very well.

Uh forget my post above.

I thought this was hermy's photo but now I've actually read the thing.
#108 - Posted 4/11/08 @4:11PM by SnowDoggy [contact]

#91 just sealed their fate.

Many of you will probably be very happy to know this will be my final post in here. I love Rush too much too hear about them playing to half-full ampitheatres all summer, and reading embarrassing reviews.

As childish as it sounds, I am just going to bury my head in the sand and pretend this tour is not happening.

Maybe this upcoming disaster will finally wake them up to the fact that they cannot get away with identical shows night after night anymore. The internet has changed the rules forever. Rush has to either retire or change with them.

I never meant to offend anyone in here, as "In The End" we are all wearing the same uniform of the Rush Army. It's just that in my real life I know very few Rush Fans. Every time I bring them up my family and frinds roll their eyes and say things to the effect of "they're still around?" It was either vent a little in here or to the four walls of my apartment.

Goodbye and goodluck to all of you. Maybe in a few years they will be back with some great new material and a new tour. And hopefully the tough "Lessons" they are about to learn will make them a better band, and not end their illusrious careers.
#109 - Posted 4/11/08 @4:12PM by scottc [contact]

looks lie Alex's Midi pedals to me.

link
#110 - Posted 4/11/08 @4:13PM by Denny Crane [contact]

I looked at the photo of Alex foot pedals.

Is it me, or does the right side of the setlist look completly different from the left? The lettering is different font and even different color. The two shadows from the small boom light are casting different angles that don't physically jive with each other. Also, notice the continuation of color smudge to the right of OLV, it continues off the paper and clearly suspect to photoshop work. And another thing, the lined paper magically stops being lined on the right half. Okay, enough is enough.

I don't believe it for a moment.

We'll know soon.

Your EGO is to big to just go away... types like you ALWAYS have to get the last word and always reincarnate themselves in one form or another. I don't believe you for one second... we would never get lucky enough to have all you negative personalities die away.

All doom and gloom, 1/2 filled venues? Where? When? I think your doom and gloom prediction will turn out to be 100% FALSE!

hey everyone--I'm one that wants to see the real set list for tonite, then i will make judgements on it....with that said,I've seen the band over 50 times since the PW and looking foward to seeing them again...I"m an older fan 45 so i guess I've seen the same songs over and over---so what....love to hear Red Barchetta again, would love to hear the pass but really is the best was my son saying man what a good show that was, those guys are really goodwhen i took him to the R30 tour and the S&a tour....don't get me wrong , he"s seen a few other shows, he's not brainwashed on Rush , actually makes fun of me on my love for the band but for him to say that to me,it means alot..so all you people that are putting the band down for this that and the other thing just be glad that there still touring, possibly putting out new material, and be thankful that there still happy to be together and give us music....

I remember when certain "sources" said they were gonna play Manhattan Project, Camera Eye, a complete version of Hemispheres and all sorts of sother pecial stuff during the R30 tour. Never happened. Why would it happen now for another routine tour supporting a studio album tour?

If they soundcheck stuff, they do it for fun and out of their curiosity. I think they're probably not confident playing those songs though for 40 straight dates with almost no break. I mean we're taking Rush here and they are skilled musicians but when age shows its ugly face, you can't ignore your own physicial limitations. And even Neil knows that every time he gets out and rides.

Poor Snowdoggy. So much pessimism.

I have had so much pain and darkness and suffering in my life, yet Rush has been such a "light" for me.

It's not Rush's fault that they exist in a mad mad world, and work in an industry that is full greed and corruption. They stand out from that as best they can (better than most) and they are doing so well under the circumstances.

Still doing this for 34 years; I can't see what is going wrong for them.

I hope Snowdoggy can learn to find some peace in his life somewhere (he seems to have trouble finding that).

And if anyone has the right to be this pessimistic; it's Neil Peart - yet his pessimism really isn't bad.

Blessings to you Snowdogg. Try some meditating and some soul searching, and be thankful if your life never gets as bad as Neil Pearts.

The evening however will be packed full of fun and goodies. I am sure the ratings will be high on the Late Night with Hemisferios Show!! I will be Krazy Glued to my office seat in anticipation!! Bring it on brother!

Sorry to hear about the Doggy of the Snowlands-I hear he has already been skinned and has made the special board in the local Thai restaurant:

Snow "Clown" Doggy-A medley of shitty comments, sauteed with julienne vegetables, chili sauce, fresh basil and misinformation. Served with a side of dip shit. $8.95
(Sorry thats all we could get for you dude).

Re: the setlist on the pedals

What I want to know is, how is Alex supposed to read that from 6 feet up? Obviously, the set will become like second nature (pun not intended) after awhile, but until that point, is he expected to crouch down and read it? Either way, it'll be an amazing, amazing show.

Snowdog2112-No offense, wrong dog
#144 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:03PM by RolandofGilead [contact]

Now that this setlist is pretty much confirmed, I've made up my mind (although a hard decision at that) to sell my tickets to 3 shows on this leg of the tour. I'm really dumbfounded that Rush thought that they could make this set-list pass without upsetting fans. Some of you who say going to see Rush is still worth it, I only have this to say. I've seen them every tour since Presto at least 3 times per tour and ever since R30, I've been less than satisfied with their regurgetated set list choices. It just becomes disappointing and not really worth it to see the same songs over and over again. It's like going on the same roller coaster ride again and again...eventually it's not enjoyable anymore. Hopefully someone will buy the tickets that havn't seen them on the past 3 tours and will then enjoy the setlist. I hope Rush gets their shit together with regards to this and hears the cry of fans to stop acting like machines and start playing music again.
#145 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:04PM by New World Fan [contact]

Yeah.
#153 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:24PM by eshine [contact]

Not sure of the inside source - but I can tell you that this photo of the setlist is completely fake.

I'm a graphic artist. It was photoshopped.

- heavy pixelated fonts literally running off the page
- the light above the page is crooked and looks layered over the setlist with shadows added to the sides
- the corners of the entire page are strangly pixelated and the page itself apears to have been manually rotated
#154 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:30PM by LanceTheShred [contact]

Thats killer news dude! Send me an e-mail and give me the scoop. If you can get south to the Hershey show, I will definitely help you with your expenses. Heading out with my three daughters for the evening. Looks like I'm in store for some Hannah Montana and some other surprises for the next three hours! It's all good though. E-mail me and I'm serious dude!
#155 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:30PM by New World Fan [contact]

Wow! You sure know your stuff eshine.
Thanks for the info.
I just hope the setlist really is slightly different at least.
#156 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:51PM by Snowdog2112 [contact]

Lance...no offense taken. There are many snowdog's out there, but only one Snowdog2112. :)
#157 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:55PM by limlight81 [contact]

What time the shows starts?
#158 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:55PM by New World Fan [contact]

I think because of my mum's job we won't be able to be gone long enough for 2 shows and we're also checking out property prices in and around Halifax Nova Scotia.(in a search for freedom and a better life on Canada's east coast)

What we're doing is flying to Halifax(50% discount on June flights with Zoom airlines) Then a ferry south and then we drive to the show.

However we're mostly in it for the concert, house prices is just something we decided to do on the way.
We have intended to go for a looong time now(2001)but have never had the ability to do anything about it.

We've been to Canada 3 times before and are serious about getting over there. Just gotta get my dad's shop sold which has been for sale waayy too long now(2 years).

I'll end this post by saying that I would LOVE to go to the show with you and maybe some day I will live only a long car journey away but for now I'm not sure we can manage it.

One day... one day.(2012 perhaps)
That's a promise I don't intend to break!
#159 - Posted 4/11/08 @6:57PM by New World Fan [contact]

Good question limlight. I asked that earlier as well but never got an answer.
#160 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:01PM by New World Fan [contact]

OOPS did you say an E-mail?

Anyway, have a great night out with your daughters.
What ages are your daughters?
#161 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:11PM by TMMB [contact]

Regarding if the pic is fake I'm no expert. However, I have a picture of the last tour of Geddy's pedal from the front and it appears much bigger than the one posted in this forum. Also, it sits on a pedal board and the one in question looks like it is directly on the floor. I guess we will find out tonight.
#162 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:13PM by Broon

To all you babies stamping your feet and crying about how you're gonna go sell your tickets: what in the Sam Hill did you think you were going to get from *another leg* of the *same tour*??? What Rush has done is give *more people* in *more markets* the chance - no, the opportunity! - to come out and see their live show - they haven't "screwed over their fans." Rush loves the new album they poured their heart into and want to keep playing it. And the promoter obviously had good reason to think they'd sell enough tickets on more S&A dates to give the guys enough coin to roust them out of vacation. Win-win-win! Nobody promised you a new setlist. So respect the music or stay home!! And STFU, for good measure.
#163 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:16PM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

15 mins to go! can you imagine the buzz in puerto rico right now?
#164 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:22PM by Bravest Face

Based upon what I have seen and read so far, and honestly I have not been on here as much as some of you, but I would be surprised if the setlist is not what it is reported to be. Well, at least surprised if it was much different anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if a song or two were different. If they decided to throw in oh, let's say Working Man or something it wouldn't disappoint me any! :)

I'd be curious to see if fans of other bands complain as much about the setlist, I would bet not! I think it is a given that ticket sales won't be as solid as they were last year for obvious reasons, but I also wouldn't prescribe to the gloom and doom theories, there are still plenty of bands that tour and don't have near the audience that Rush does! Not that I want Rush to turn into one of those bands, but my point is that they won't be strapped for cash anytime soon, that I think they will continue to make music for some time even if the venues aren't sold out!

Point being as long as Rush is making good music, I'm happy and will make the show!
#165 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:25PM by Vagner Rush [contact]

Hi guys... My name is Vagner, I'm a Brazilian fan and I need to get news from this concert... We have a lot of Brazilian fan connected on Rush Fã-Clube Brasil website...

LET'S GET READY FOR RUSH IN 08!
#167 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:29PM by Vagner Rush [contact]

Marathon
Ghost Of A Chance
Everyday Glory

Any chance?
#168 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:29PM by Islander67 [contact]

We'll Know the setlist sometime Tonight!!!!! For sure~~~~
but I Still think We are Gonna see a Curve Ball - Trick & The Guys play some Suprises to Everyone & They were leaking Supposed setlists & said printed one, To Suprise everyone Tonight......

am I Wrong??? Probably but I'd still like to think the Guys are doing this to Us - If the setlist IS What it is listed, Then I'm Fine with it & Look foward to it a Lot..

By the way, Is it me or is the NO Drum Solo Listed??? Alex's Hope is but Not Perts Solo????? -- OOps yeah the Solo is next to MaNar - So here's to suprises OR Not, I''m cool with it & unless anything happens to me - Jinx Off - i'll pick Up My Front row Red Rocks seats on June 5th :)
#169 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:30PM by TMMB [contact]

Wow "Broon"...that's a little harsh. You have some anger in your voice. I see both sides of the argument. Yes, Rush does love their latest work and enjoys playing it live. And it IS still the S&A tour. I personally don't care for the album much but I agree they should play as many songs from it as they want. However, I think the people that are pissed about the setlist (may not even be real) are not expecting a total revamp. They understand this is still the S&A tour. They were just hoping for some rarer gems to pulled out of the vault for this 2nd leg. We have heard NS and 2112 to death. How hard would it be to insert JL or TCE there instead. And to drop EN and Circumstances??? Both of those were such a treat. It does appear to be somewhat lazy on their part....or out of touch anyway.
I guess tho' the bottom line is they are the ones that have to play it night after night. So whatever gets them thru a tour is a determining factor I suppose.
#170 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:33PM by Bravest Face

Vagner, there have already been rumors on this site, and I don't want to give too much away, but based upon the rumors, there is a good chance you will hear one of those songs, but not the other four. We will know for certain later on tonight.

TMMB, I see what you are saying, but they could play Natural Science live every day of my live and I wouldn't get tired of it! lol!!

You're an angel with your wings broken,
wearing sandals that I tripped in.
You're a holiday already taken,
a cocktail that's stirred never shaken.

Your heads in overload.
You've reached your threshold
and you're about to explode.

Open your eyes. Just say what you want to say?
Open your eyes, you see yours isn't the only way .
Open your eyes. To you everyone is blind.
Open your eyes and your mind.

You're like a hand gun that's fully loaded
making idle threats of violence.

Your heads in overload.
You've reached your threshold
and you're about to explode.

Open your eyes. You take what you want for free,
Open your eyes. and you see what you want to see.
Open your eyes. To you everyone is blind.
Open your eyes and your mind.

Open your eyes. Just say what you want to say?
Open your eyes, you see yours isn't the only way .
Open your eyes. Do you really think I'm blind?
Open your eyes and your mind.
Open your mind.

Open your mind.

the show is under way
the tour has begun, what a glorious night
#173 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:36PM by TMMB [contact]

Bravest Face

I agree..:) NS DOES Rock!!!
#174 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:41PM by mrwal [contact]

The pedals are Ged's. Notice the base of the mic stand to the left. Also notice how worn the reflective tape is on the high 'C' note. That's his primary and 'first' trigger pedal for sequences and the like.

This setlist is believable. Doesn't surprise me for Rush to drop the deeper songs you really want to hear as a fan as has been history (i.e. Time & Motion, Between Sun & Moon, Circumstances, TCE, Territories, Jacob's Ladder, etc.) But it's their show and their effort to play songs they want to do aside from the current album they tour for.

I will be surprised if the show tonight is any different than what's been reported and photographed. I'm disappointed Entre Nous is no longer in the set. Thank you for keeping Between the Wheels, Digital Man. Glad to see they really believe in the new material. I think that's what this tour is all about anyway.

Hope everyone enjoys the shows.
#175 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:41PM by Vagner Rush [contact]

Did the show start?
#176 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:43PM by Snoscootr [contact]

The show never starts on time :)
#177 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:46PM by Bravest Face

There are definitely some songs I would like to see them play that they aren't, but it could be worse, imagine this:

opening act 7:45-8:30
wait 45 minutes for stage crew to tear down and set up
9:15, band is supposed to come on but is nowhere to be seen
9:35, band finally comes on stage
9:50, fist fight breaks out in front of you
10:15, band takes a long drinking break
10:40, band returns to stage
11:15, band wraps up concert

okay, so this is a combinations of various other shows I have been to, but how many others can relate to some non Rush shows!

I think we have it pretty good but knowing what we are getting, a damn good show, when we see the guys, unless you like certain surprises! lol!!
#178 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:47PM by Vagner Rush [contact]

:-) Yep. Rush In Rio take about 2, 3 hours to start... I saw Lorne to prepare the Neil's kit...
:-)
#179 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:47PM by Bravest Face

It's probably at least getting very close though!
#180 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:49PM by Bravest Face

Vagner, yeah, I heard they didn't get started down in Brazil until about 10pm, man, I bet a lot of people were good and drunk by then! lol!! Hopefully not too drunk though so they can remember the show! I was amazed by how young the crowd was in Rush in Rio, about half the age of the Rush crowd in the U.S! lol!!
#181 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:50PM by glortiz [contact]

It looks like the start time for all the shows on this leg is 7:30. And Rush is pretty prompt.
#182 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:52PM by Snoscootr [contact]

It seems like most of the shows we attended last year were 10-20 minutes late in starting mostly because people were still arriving
#183 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:54PM by Snoscootr [contact]

Ed just posted an update,

UPDATE - 4/11@7:50PM: Looks like the scheduled 7:30 start time was delayed; people are still making their way into the venue.
#184 - Posted 4/11/08 @7:55PM by Vagner Rush [contact]

Wow... I arrived there about 6 pm, taking almost 4 hours to see the guys. It was awesome when they arrived on stage... I remember clear these moments...

Rush rulles!!!

They are probably making last minute set changes...throwing in Camera Eye, Jacobs ladder, Xanadu, Hemispheres, and all the GOOD songs.

I found all of my RUSH CD's today...I thought they were lost or stolen as I have not been able to find them for the past 6 months...but I found them today...that's a good sign...the bad sign is that they are all scratched to hell and vitually unlistenable anyway.
#190 - Posted 4/11/08 @8:06PM by Bravest Face

Drummerdad, that is very true!

I think audiences expect any more that the show will not start on time, it's almost anticipated that the show will begin at least 15-20 minutes from the scheduled start, if it began on time, many people would be pissed because they would have missed the first part of the show! lol!!

Vagner, it's too bad you guys have only had the one shot so far to see them, with the crowd as it was, I would be really surprised if they don't at least make one trip to Brazil, maybe not this time around, but some day I am sure!
#191 - Posted 4/11/08 @8:06PM by limlight81 [contact]

Who cares about the set list just bloody enjoy the show and watch the guys in action and tearing it up of each songs. These people are bunch of nutsballs I tell ya. Get a bloody grip. JUST ENJOY THE SHOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hell prince, i'd would have purchased them new by now...

#194 - Posted 4/11/08 @8:07PM by sholmes2112 [contact]

Put Camera Eye and Jacob's Ladder in the set, and I'll buy tickets. Or choose 5 relatively obscure tunes from Caress, FbN, Grace, Presto or the debut, and I'm in! Otherwise, I'll be happyy having seen basically the same identical show last year in Atlanta. I won't complain, just simply stating a fact about what I choose to do with my hard-earned money.
I'm looking forward to the DVD and the next studio album!

Amen to your 191 comment Limelight..seems some people can never be pleased, they will always have something to complain about. What miserable lives they must have...
Personally I'd have just as much of a good time if they didn't change one song from the first leg. For goodness sake it's RUSH!!! 6 days to go for my first of several shows in '08

I like all their albums, I don't complain about repetitive set lists, I still get excited for their shows, and they're older than me. Life is good!!! I can't wait for Charlotte...July OMG!!!!! #247 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:10PM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

it will be great to actually get the full effects of the visuals at the beginning of the concert! lol
#248 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:13PM by glortiz [contact]

Not to mention the transitions - a lot of that is lost during the first half of the outdoor show.
#249 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:15PM by david [contact]

DOES THIS MAKE SENSE ????

Rush is playing in PR. for the first time ever right...
therefore they will most likely play the same songs from the s+a cd that they played on the first leg because those ARE the popular songs and they want to sell more s+a cd's to the fans down there.

Then they come back to the states and play some new songs off s+a that they didn't play on the first leg hoping to generate even MORE cd sales in th U.S.

If I was their manager that's what I'd tell them to do!!!

I will be at the sunday show in FT.Lauderdale and I will post my obsevation to everyone.
#250 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:16PM by exit...stage left [contact]

Rush is playing live again, phillies and flyers are winning...what could be better???
#251 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:18PM by sully_digs [contact]

What could be better? Cubs 2008 World Series Champs.
#252 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:19PM by joerock213 [contact]

My first show was at the Nutter center in Dayton. The sound that night was like being in an airplane hangar. Thats the bad thing about indoor.
#253 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:19PM by david [contact]

It makes sense to stick to the original set and add 2 popular songs (Red Barchetta and Trees) for the fans down there who have NEVER seen a Rush show before.

Then I would come back to the states with the new material for the american fans who HAVE seen Rush a dozen or so times....

This makes sense to me....

God I hope I'm right!!!!!!!!!
#254 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:19PM by sully_digs [contact]

The three best things in life outside of family are:

Coors Light
Chicago Cubs
RUSH
#255 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:21PM by sully_digs [contact]

I can't believe that Closer To The Heart is not being played in a city RUSH has never visited before.
#256 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:26PM by joerock213 [contact]

That is surprising, sully_digs, especially since CTH was such a big hit in South America.
#257 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:28PM by sully_digs [contact]

I'm watching RUSH in RIO, that is where the idea came from. Maybe there will be a suprise after all.

Cubs in '08 (:

I see the boys are in the House!! Sitting around like a bunch of 4th of July partyers in front of the campfire waiting for the fireworks to go off..........I love it! Killer evening with my daughters-Brings ya back down to reality.

Spindrift-Can't imagine not having access to Ed's worldly info daily. Welcome back mister!

Hey Sully-Did you ever do your research on internal marketing from your cleaver little air post #22 on the Press Conference thread? You either found out that we are both on the same side or you are still riding the unicyle around the track next to the little purple poodle....

Can't wait for our island brothers to start posting the exclamation points! Tonight, these PR folks might just make the Necro GDF Mancer look like a mellow blogger!!
No freakin way dude!!
#259 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:34PM by sully_digs [contact]

Lance we are both on the same side. You were right, I fell off my chair. Great comment about the "air" instrument on post #22. And I cant ride a unicycle.
#260 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:35PM by Astroboy [contact]

my bro who lives in Puerto Rico told me that the colieo sold close to 1,000 tickets today and that the place looks quite crowded about 10,000 ppl or so he says! So its not as bad as some thought attendance wise.
#261 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:37PM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

i just got out of the 10 posts an hour jail!! lol

joe- sounding like it was being played in an airplane hanger might be what you get in dayton, but we have state of the art arenas up north here!! why dont you take a drive up to joe louis arena in detroit or the palace of auburn hills? i'm sure it would be a better indoor experience for you!
#262 - Posted 4/11/08 @9:40PM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

so,they sold a bunch of tickets on the day of the show? they have a crowd of around 10,000?imagine that! lol

I love how you mixed in RUSH about eighty times in you listing.

Sully you've blown my cover dude! Besides the fact I am 46 year old rock and roller and currently the Baltimore/DC Air Guitar Champion, I will verify that I listen to a little Neil (The non-professor) and Elton John on occasion.

Okay here we go.......

March 10th, 2008
BILLBOARD.com:

March 10, 2008, 5:25 PM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

After postponing a handful of dates last week in order for guitarist Eddie Van Halen to undergo tests for an unspecified medical condition, Van Halen is postponing all tour activity until April 19.

Seventeen shows are affected, beginning tomorrow night (March 11) in Charlottesville, Va., and running through April 15 in Baltimore.

According to organizers, Van Halen, who has battled cancer and substance abuse, "is currently under doctors' care" and will "continue medical tests to define a course of treatment." No further details were made available.

Fans are being asked to keep their tickets, which will be honored at makeup dates to be announced.

Van Halen returned to the road last fall with original lead singer David Lee Roth for the first time in 20-plus years. The tour, which features Eddie Van Halen's teenage son Wolfgang on bass, has routinely sold out North American arenas.

Just about a week or so after the Atlanta show on Feb 10th the tour came to a halt. Here is the youtube link to the last show. You can see Eddie slam down his guitar and then walks off stage and shoves over a stack of amps that almost hit Diamond Dave.

#278 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:06PM by sully_digs [contact]

Necromancer - The Van Halen show just happened to stop after ex-vife Valerie appeared on the Oprah show on a Monday and ripped their marriage promoting her new book.

I think Eddie went off the deep end...........

But every VH show I have seen have been great.

#288 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:19PM by emajor7th [contact]

Going to Orlando in a few days to catch Rush with my best friend for the (what?) seventh time since the 1985 Spring Training Tour. Saw them in Raleigh during the 2007 leg, and I have to say that the new stuff was the best stuff in the show, especially Armor & Sword. They really played the new stuff with passion. That's what I'm looking forward to. The opening of the second set was the best part of the show. OK, the South Park kids were pretty good, too. Hope everyone has a great time!
#289 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:22PM by sully_digs [contact]

well my hour is up so I am back.

Hey shredder, can you tell me where I can buy myself an air guitar? Something in the $100-$200 price range will work. I look into air drum sets later this summer. .

You told me to do my research twice, little did I know it was just a click away......
#290 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:25PM by LanceTheShred [contact]

Prime-Can't wait! Thats a spoiler in itself man. Get all the info to Ed after the FULL STORY. That will have Rush fans drooling!! Envious aint the word my friend!

#292 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:30PM by rocinante5m [contact]

you know what's really strange, the one part of the show that "the casual fan" goes for and everyone there anticipates has never really been discussed.......it's about that time in the show, i wonder what magic the Professor will come with this time or if he will feel comfortable with his last masterpiece with the occasional improv bits thrown in??????

#294 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:44PM by sully_digs [contact]

AIR mail will work for me. Shredder you and I would rock out big time at a RUSH or VH show together. Last August in Indy, I was with the guy who threw the beer cups, some which still had beer in them, toward the end of the show. Read all about it in the tour updates for Indy..

Right now!

#298 - Posted 4/11/08 @10:55PM by sully_digs [contact]

Yea I remember you telling me that before. It was a little embarassing, expecially since we missed YYZ. We heard it fine. We we just to the side of the stage on Geddy's side outside a security booth. But that is all in the past and I am waiting for June 25th. No beer throwing from my posse I can grant you that.

But when the boys dive into 2112 I am going to do my LanceTheShredder impersonation!!!!!!!!!

One other thing. I didnt know he had thrown about 3 or 4 beer cups before that last one. I saw the last beer get tossed. Shit it was about full...

He got all those beers from my neighbor. He just kept bringing them. We had fun but I dont want to do that again.

BTW - the security man at the backstage entrance area was about 7'6" tall. Looked like Lurch from the Adams Family. I was glad everyone bit their tounge.

Can I just say the windy city girl is a very polite posting Rush Fan!!

Sully-you are one crazy SOB Man!! Yeah, that's what I call grrrrrrrrrrrr rocking. When you are just freakin crushing the air and grrrrrrin out loud at a Rush concert to the point where folks will question your sanity....I am normally seated next to the dipshit that only knows Tom Sawyer so you know the dude needed a few doses of Demeral being next to me...............Something about those Rush concert tunes......kinda possess you a bit!

#321 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:24PM by garyg7133 [contact]

I gotta say,the few changes that popped up are interesting ones. I always liked Ghost of a chance. It's kind of an odd place to put it though I think. 3 songs I wish they'd ditch: spindrift, witch hunt and between the wheels. Other than that, I'm all in.
#322 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:27PM by Yx2Z

Spirit of radio had the 'trainwreck'' ** my bad :)

Have they played the encore yet? Did they play "Killing Me Softly" yet? Did the crowd go wild? The suspense is killing me.....
#324 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:30PM by Bravest Face

Of course we have some who believe Rush will change it up dramatically when they get to the mainland, well, I don't buy it! I think the setlist is pretty much what it is, they may change up a song here or two, but overall, I think they will pretty much stick with this, I think history has taught us that much! And, I have no problem with it!!

RUSH ON!!!

Ok - hoping for a something obscure, but Summerfest will still be nuts... looks like a sell out.

#334 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:47PM by Bravest Face

That is the one song I cannot wait to hear live, Ghost Of A Chance, the song out of the bunch I have never heard live!! I didn't start seeing Rush live until the T4E tour, so I missed out on that one, that will be a special treat for me!!
#335 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:49PM by coolphantom190

Lance, post some new vids on youtube!

Put some of you doing some Rush AIR GUITAR!!!

That would rock!

Thanks!
#336 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:52PM by scoffing at the wise [contact]

Brav - what sucks is where it is in the setlist unless you're seeing it indoors. The "in a state of grace" line was supported by an amazing display of extremely low lighting and lasers
#337 - Posted 4/11/08 @11:53PM by LanceTheShred [contact]

Bravest Face-Ghost of a Chance is a great song and will be a big treat. Money post#324-Rush on!!

Jodeo - thanks for confirming my memory from Atlanta 1992.

Not to bitch, but they should have moved a less need of "lighting" S&A tune to the first set and put this in the second.
#343 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:03AM by Bravest Face

Scoffing, well that is a shame in a way, but I will still be glad to hear it live! It's difficult to say that is my favorite song from RTB when there are so many very good ones, but most: Dreamline, RTB, Bravado, I have heard live, whereas Ghost of A Chance I have not!

I am also very glad they still have as many songs from S&A along with Witch Hunt, Natural Science, Freewill, and A Passage to Bangkok!

I have another incentive that some of you may not have, I will be attending one Rush show this year with someone who has never seen Rush live, so I think this is a good representation of their work to really blow this guy away!! I think he will be tremendously impressed with their live show, of course, that wouldn't really matter what they played live if it was your first time seeing the band!! lol!!
#344 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:06AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

they played ghost of a chance during the RTB tour, but they added it after i had already seen them,so i have never seen them do that one either!
#345 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:07AM by sully_digs [contact]

Well tonight has been fun. Got way off topic (Van Halen) discovered stars in their own (Lance The Shredder) sounds like a name from the old NWA wrestling days. Discussed last years tour, and the sport of beer tossing! WoW that was too much. Made some new contacts and created once again more memories that will include RUSH, as should always be.

I want some AIR guitar to Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and Wham! That would be uh, funny.
#346 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:08AM by unktehila [contact]

prime.. as Lance said, i'm drooling thinking about those vintage percussion treats... definitely keep us posted on it all when you're back in studio.

BF-There is no other way to lose your Rush virginity than LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where the hell is redbar, double-0-Hemi and the Pelican Chopper? Damn Boys, the encore has to be over......

I See RUSH
Don't make me blush
I guess it must be something in the BUBBA KUSH!
#350 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:10AM by scoffing at the wise [contact]

Brav - I have 4 brothers which takes up 5 of 8 seats I normally get. Then, I always make it a point to turn on friends. When we go now, we have a group of 20+ people (sitting all over the place) because they get hooked (at least to seeing them in concert). You can't lose.

They kept Digital Man.. good. Circumstance gone.. bad... But I've pissed in my beer cup to get through the Trees.
#351 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:11AM by perfect sphere [contact]

Well this 45 year old has been going to Rush concerts since the Permanent Waves tour (Chicago Ampitheater, 1980), and to this day they have NEVER EVER EVER FAILED to thrill me. Seeing Rush live has always been a high point of any particular year... and my friends and I still look forward to these shows with the same anticipation as when we were 17 year old little hooligan!

HEY NOW, regarding SETLISTS... you are going to be entertained for 3 hours... it's not like buying a stock or mutual fund... just go see the nearest Rush show(s) you can, and ENJOY!!!!! ...even you gloomy deconstructionist types!!-- Just chill and thank the heavens that our rock gods Rush haven't died in a plane crash, drowned in their own vomit, committed suicide, or just faded away like so many other great artists. Rush is ALIVE AND WELL and will be rocking a metropolis near YOU!!!

(Looking on the BRIGHT SIDE OF LIFE: Even some of the cheap seats up in the stratosphere can be fun... the venues I've been to allow binoculars, and you get to see the full effect of the light show.)

and thank you for tolerating this unabashed fit of cheerleading.
#352 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:12AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

bf- i am really glad they are doing 2112,barchetta,and the trees for your friends sake(as well as ours lol)! i forget, did he listen to them back in the day?
#353 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:13AM by Bravest Face

Lance, damn staight! I remember my first time for the T4E show, and I got lucky with 11th row, center stage tickets back in 97! An amazing show!!

Jodeo, forgot to thank you. Very interesting live video. I do have "Ghost of A Chance" on a bootleg copy from the RTB tour, of course audio only, but seeing it live will be something else entirely.

I will never forget the guy, a loser to be honest, I knew in college who when I told him I liked Rush told me he didn't care for their music, but only liked one song of theirs, and that was "Ghost of A Chance" lol!!

Lance, give them time to get their partying over and get to a computer!! lol!!

WCG - very nice. Could tell you many a story of going to a Rush show full-baked, 3/4 baked, 1/2 baked, and zero baked. (Who am I fooling I was always baked). Most involved trying to hurd the "Cats" (my brothers) and keeping them from getting kicked out of the parking lot.
#377 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:47AM by LanceTheShred [contact]

That a boy Roc Man!! This is insanity waiting for some news. Maybe it's Puerto Rico tradition to keep you in suspense till the next day......Break the tradition tonight damn it!!!!!!!!

windycitygirl- i know exactly what you mean!! rush's music has always helped me get thru certain periods in my life! in fact, vapor trails helped get me thru my painful divorce!! this band has always done that for me!

windycitygirl- i assume that you will be going to the chicago show? i will be seeing them the very next night in detroit!!
#384 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:55AM by windycitygirl [contact]

i'm on 22nd year Rush Fan. saw my first show in 1986, i was 12. me and my uncle had to be chaperoned (spelling bad sorry) by my grandfather.....

BF - kids, no worries, my girl is 4, she loves Rush. has a crush on Geddy and saw the S&A 07 show in tinley park with me. (she loved Witch Hunt) - we're off to moline in may!!
#385 - Posted 4/12/08 @12:59AM by scoffing at the wise [contact]

WCG - the delay in responses is screwing everything up, but then again, I'm in the dark ages.

I thought you should know, however, that the most important Rush albumns/cds in my life were the ones when I was going through tough times (divorce, death, etc.) What is goofy, is that I don't consider them anywhere near the best Rush tunes. It's just that they captured what it was like at the time. (ie - carve away the stone, half the world, the color of right.) I really don't listen to them anymore (old school), but I appreciate what they did for me. Probably because when I listen to them it all comes back. All this said, the beauty of Rush is that they create songs that the average person would see as "negative", and we see as positive.
#386 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:00AM by windycitygirl [contact]

moline and chicago both shows. chicago will be Mom's night out.....i have a hubby "NONE-INTERESTED" in Rush.
complete opposite here of you Fellas.
me and and old classmate from grade school are gonna hit up chicago's show!!

When they turn the pages of history
When these days have passed long ago
Will they read of us with sadness
For the seeds that we let grow
We turned our gaze
From the castles in the distance
Eyes cast down
On the path of least resistance

Cities full of hatred
Fear and lies
Withered hearts
And cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons
Dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude
And scoffing at the wise

The hypocrites are slandering
The sacred halls of Truth
Ancient nobles showering
Their bitterness on youth
Can't we find
The minds that made us strong
Can't we learn
To feel what's right and wrong

Cities full of hatred
Fear and lies
Withered hearts
And cruel, tormented eyes
Scheming demons
Dressed in kingly guise
Beating down the multitude
And scoffing at the wise
Can't we raise our eyes
And make a start
Can't we find the minds
To lead us closer to the Heart

The dancer slows her frantic pace
In pain and desperation,
Her aching limbs and downcast face
Aglow with perspiration

Stiff as wire, her lungs on fire,
With just the briefest pause -
The flooding through her memory,
The echoes of old applause.

She limps across the floor
And closes her bedroom door...

The writer stares with glassy eyes -
Defies the empty page
His beard is white, his face is lined
And streaked with tears of rage.

Thirty years ago, how the words would flow
With passion and precision,
But now his mind is dark and dulled
By sickness and indecision

And he stares out the kitchen door
Where the sun will rise no more...

Some are born to move the world -
To live their fantasies
But most of us just dream about
The things we'd like to be

Sadder still to watch it die
Than never to have known it
For you - the blind who once could see -
The bell tolls for thee...

Damn-I think they might have crashed the Pelican Chopper. Probably way to happy, suckin down cervezas and swaying back and forth with their lighters up in the air singing The Way the Wind Blows.....and the concert ended well over an hour ago!

Hemi and the gang are Rush punch drunk, hit the salad bar multiple times and they are totally hammered! I can see him now in the bar screamin "Did you see Neilio tearing it upio to Mal Nario!! Unf**king Realio!"

Lucky bastards! Roc-I will e-mail you manana

Sir Lance a Lot the AIR solo is dedicated to you....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pack up all those phantoms
Shoulder that invisible load
Keep on riding north and west
Haunting that wilderness road
Like a ghost rider

Carry all those phantoms
Through bitter wind and stormy skies
From the desert to the mountain
From the lowest low to the highest high
Like a ghost rider

Keep on riding North and West
Then circle South and East
Show me beauty, but there is no peace
For the ghost rider

Shadows on the road behind
Shadows on the road ahead
Nothing can stop you now

There's a shadow on the road behind
There's a shadow on the road ahead
Nothing can stop you now

Sunrise in the mirror
Lightens that invisible load
Riding on a nameless quest
Haunting that wilderness road
Like a ghost rider

Just an escape artist
Racing against the night
A wandering hermit
Racing toward the light

From the White Sands
To the Canyonlands
To the redwood stands
To the Barren Lands

Sunrise on the road behind
Sunset on the road ahead
There's nothing to stop you now
Nothing can stop you now

snakes and arrows just shows me how far in the healing process neil really is. the place he comes from to write some of that stuff -- i want to be able to see things those same ways.
and then Alex adds "Hope" theres not a word in it. but it speaks volumes to me.
#392 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:07AM by Bravest Face

Windycitygirl, good that you have someone from your past into Rush! None of my old friends are into Rush, I had one friend, but he is so wishy washy, I gave him the opportunity at 12th row seats last year in Cincy, he was supposed to get me the money and never delivered! So, consider yourself very lucky!!

Windycitygirl, you are only a couple of years older than I, but got into Rush at a much younger age than me, it took me until I was 18 in 1994 and a senior in high school and heard "Working Man" on the radio! That sold me right there! My first semester of college was spent listening and getting familiar with "Chronicles"!!

Are there any P.R. reviews up yet?
#393 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:11AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

no lie,the first couple times i listened to "hope",it brought a tear to my eye! it is beautiful!
#394 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:12AM by Lynn-2112 [contact]

I am 44. In high school I would drive 30 minutes to work in Park City Utah and back. I would always listen to Permanent Waves on my cassette Walkman to and from work. I was at work today listening to PW on my iPod thinking about driving to Park City. Good memories!
I love having Rush on my iPod.
I regret not going with my friends to see the Signals concert. I could have come up with $25 somewhere.

some of his best.......what's funny is how long ago he wrote that and it's more fitting now then before......or maybe he knew, dododododododo......

hey scoffingathewise, ditto here on the T4E tunes, but mine was more recent.....i always loved Bravado, for some reason it hit me right when i heard it and it's my favorite Rush song along with Hemispheres...i always thought the music was beautiful and equally powerful and when I first heard it live and found out how much they loved playing that song it just made it that much better.....after my divorce i finally understood the song......Rush is my therapy, escape and inspiration........

CRAMELOT- Where SirLance is from.....
#397 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:16AM by Bravest Face

Lynn, one of my best memories is from my rough first semester at college listening to "Chronicles" on my CD walkman. I still associate certain classic Rush songs with some of the buildings and features of the campus I left behind after my first semester before I transferred.
#398 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:17AM by windycitygirl [contact]

lynn 2112, are you still in ut? i lived there 14 yrs. saw the s&a show in 07 at the Usana!!
#399 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:18AM by scoffing at the wise [contact]

Brav - Don't worry about the reviews. If you love Rush you will again have the experience of your life. They rarely cheat the fans. It depends on where you sit and the people around you.

WSG - still thinking about the Moline show..... the closer it gets, the more tempting it becomes. I've seen them at the UC and just won't do it again. GO TO SUMMERFEST!

Just arrived from the concert here in Puerto Rico...I am so glad I didn't peek at the huge spoiler (the picture of the setlist) even though I saw the link before leaving.

These guys are amazing, saw the in Boston for Vapor Trails and now tonight...these guys have so much energy and have so much fun playing. The sound was incredible, the stage was amazing and the lights...wow! the lights and pyrotechnics were like something I had never seen here before.

True that the show was not sold out, there was one section on the back that could be seen empty, but there was a decent amount of people considering the prices.

#406 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:21AM by rocinante5m [contact]

That would be awesome if he did Broon's Bane
#408 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:23AM by Bravest Face

Scoffing, I know, I just enjoy seeing what people say sometimes, that usually wanes later in the tour, but it can be intriquing early on!

I don't think there is much doubt we will get to 500, that has been some time ago since a thread got to that many and I believe the thread shuts down if I remember correctly! lol!!
#409 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:24AM by rocinante5m [contact]

Thanks rocinante5m.

Not sure if the videos between songs are the same from the last leg of the tour, but they were hilarious...SPOILER AHEAD!!!

Geddy dressed as the Irish guy and the intro to Tom Sawyer by the "kids" from Southpark were hilarious.

Hey Roci - the generalization I made left out Bravado and many others.... especially Presto, Animate, etc. Bravado is awesome for it's simplicty. Unlike any other band, Rush came from a point of great complexity to one of more simplicity. Yet, they have still found their voice.... and we respect them for it. Many critics have always critized them for being followers. I like to think of them as expanders in a semi-brilliant way.

#415 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:44AM by TARKUS [contact]

Scoffer: "I like to think of them as expanders in a semi-brilliant way."

They have always been changing - and on some of the albums they have picked up on some of the music trends. No doubt they like some of the new stuff they hear, and it gets incoporated into their riffs, then songs, etc. I don't see them being heavily influenced though into thinking "hey, think "hey, rap is huge and making money, lets do rap and make lots of money". (Unlike ELP's "Love Beach" album!!??)

Although I'm not sure what style of music S&A was influenced by.

SPUwRUMO: What all the PR folks are doing (rather than posting!).

#417 - Posted 4/12/08 @1:57AM by Bravest Face

Driven, us positive folks have taken over!! lol!!

Tarkus, I think S&A was influenced by the style of music of "we don't give a shit, we will write what feels good to us!"

Just my thoughts!!

I have to throw my .02 worth in.

I am 44 and saw my first RUSH show in 1978. Hemispheres tour.
I got turned onto RUSH by a classmate in the 7th grade and never looked back. I was 15 at the 1st show and my friend played bass. When MP came out, here picked up YYZ in about 3 days. He was amazing.
Last summer my 12 year old son went, had a blast and is going again this summer. BTW, he has seen the new Van Halen tour twice and is the envy of 2 of his middle school teachers. They grew up on RUSH and VH as well. His math teacher could not believe he actually went to see VH when he wore his tour t-shirt to school after the Atlanta show.

My first RUSH ticket cost $7.50 (Thats a beer now) and shirts were always less than the cost of a ticket.

I have every concert ticket stub I have been to. I have a seperate RUSH scrapbook with stubs, pics etc...but never a guitar pick. There was a time when Alex threw them out like everyone else. I cant say that I have ever seen Neil throw a drum stick, I dont know if he has ever thrown drumsticks into the crowd. But I do remember the shock when they hit the stage for the PW tour with short hair. I was freaked out. Neil looked like my HS Biology teacher.

I have been to see RUSH now 23 times, and I too can say that there are down times in my life where a RUSH song fits right in.

RUSH is the soundtrack of my life of 44 years.
#421 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:07AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

yes,i love that they didnt do the delay at the beginning of limelight!! that is already an improvement over the last leg!! to me,that is one of the best and most recognizable opening riffs in rock and i was a lirttle disappointed that they messed with it a little!! cool!!
#422 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:07AM by sully_digs [contact]

sean - thanks for the heads up on the vid. AMAZING todays technology.
#423 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:11AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

they also played limelight at its correct tempo, not slowed down like last leg!! another improvement!!
#424 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:12AM by sully_digs [contact]

necromancer- you are dead on with the riff comment.

You have:

Smoke on the Water
Whole Lotta Love
Limelight
Rock You Like A Hurricane

Everyone knows those riffs.
#425 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:14AM by sully_digs [contact]

This is funny. I just received an email reminging me that the 2008 S&A tour starts in San Juan tonight. Received the email and 12:57 am 4/12/08

Better late than never.
#426 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:14AM by driventotheedge [contact]

Well done Sean. Great video sound and picture were great.
#427 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:18AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

sully post #424-agreed!!!
#428 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:21AM by sully_digs [contact]

And STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN, but that is so played it is pathetic. The radio has killed stairway to heaven IMO.

But that is not in the same book as the other songs.
#429 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:26AM by driventotheedge [contact]

I hope I don't offend anyone but am I the only one who feels the solo in Limelight is almost orgasmic.
#430 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:29AM by sully_digs [contact]

Limelight is orgasmic man! Hell RUSH live is one giant orgasm to those who love RUSH.
#431 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:31AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

driven- no,i am with you on that!! very elastic and emotional solo!! the solo in limelight is one of my favs!!
#432 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:33AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

sully,i love the fact that they played it at its correct tempo!! it doesnt sound as good slow and heavy, imho!
#433 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:36AM by sully_digs [contact]

I agree necromance. I didnt really care for the pause, even though it was funny. But I was ready to rock! and the pause put a damper on that. Maybe that pause caused my buddy to later throw beer! LMAO

I love this site. Ed is the greatest!
#434 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:40AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

the pause would have been okay if it hadnt been done during limelight of all songs!! they should have done it with DEW or something!! lol
#435 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:42AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

limelight takes me back to high school and my first concert, moving pictures tour!!

i am really looking forward to seeing barchetta and the trees again also!!
#436 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:46AM by sully_digs [contact]

the trees without closer to the heart seems unreal.
I was hoping they would have added Farewell to Kings, but you cant have everything. Really wish they had not dropped Entre Nous.....

Has everyone else gone to bed, or to work?
#437 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:46AM by windycitygirl [contact]

you could hear my heart pounding straight out of my chest and me screaming during that pause !! slc show S&A 07

TROWATRE - what to do next time they pause during a cool song!!!
#438 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:48AM by windycitygirl [contact]

denny crane's gonna wake up tomorrow and spend hours reading this opening night frenzy!!! :) ha ha ha ha ha
#439 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:51AM by windycitygirl [contact]

fly by night would be cool to hear!!
#440 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:52AM by sully_digs [contact]

denny and alan are flamingos you know. so they are tucked away asleep right now. LOL

WCG you really took your 4year old to see RUSH?
#441 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:52AM by driventotheedge [contact]

I personaly missed the first 2 songs of last years tour due to a traffic nightmare at the White Rive show in Seattle. This year I arrive 1 day early and stay at The Mandalay Bay Hotel. Price of airfare, tickets and hotel 1200 for 2, seeing Rush in concert priceless
#442 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:54AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

fly by night would be awesome to see live!! so would the necromancer!! there, now the 2008 leg is official!! i made my necromancer request!! lol
#443 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:56AM by windycitygirl [contact]

she was 3 1/2 when s&a toured last year. shes 4 now....!! she has plugs, so do i. we make signs. get lots of high fives!

she's done alot -- hockey games, arena football, concerts, several disney on ice shows.....!! pretty lucky actually.

plus me, i'm total cool mom.....ha ha ha
#444 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:56AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

driven-cool!! looks like limelight is going to be even better this time and this time you will be able to see digital man!! i thought that was cool to see live again!!
#445 - Posted 4/12/08 @2:57AM by Denny Crane [contact]

People...

What are you guys doing still awake???

I wake up and there is 440 posts, damn that is a lot.

Sounds like we got a good setlist full of good music. Not so much the surprises we all wished for, but solid tunes nonetheless.

My highlights would be...

2112
The Trees
Red Barchetta
Ghost of a Chance

The thing about Ghost of a Chance is Neil said years ago this song contains one of the most beautiful guitar solos. Neil said that Alex plays one of his greatest solos on this tune.

Go to sleep people.

Denny Crane

#448 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:00AM by driventotheedge [contact]

If Rush could play for 4 hours I would also love to hear Cold Fire, Stick it out, Driven, Earthshine and one from Geddy"s solo album Grace to Grace
#449 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:01AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

sulley-that was my first concert(well, moving pictures tour but same thing) man, they were so young!! man,i was so young!!(15) lol
#450 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:02AM by windycitygirl [contact]

#451 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:04AM by Denny Crane [contact]

What up sully, windycity???

The rain has finally stopped here in Germany...

and light streams down in bright unbroken beams.

Today is going to be a great day. No work, lots of German beer and bratwursts.

Que up my entire RUSH catalog on the iPod (shuffle mode) and simply sit outside enjoying listening to my boys.

Denny
#452 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:07AM by driventotheedge [contact]

Highlight of current setlist for me is The Trees must have something to do with the carbon taxes we now pay. Would not be at all surprised if they changed songs in the encore for the North American audience. Remember this is the first time they have played in PR. Imagine if it ended in Closer To The Heart.
#453 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:08AM by sully_digs [contact]

FInally, I had to wait 4 minutes to post again.

WCG you do sound like a cool mom. Ear plugs are cool.

Necromancer I was 15 at my first RUSH show as well. Cool :)

Denny - go back to bed and tell Shirley to "leave that thing alone" LMAO

Denny Crane is my favorite screen name on here. Love the show.

WCG if you liked Geddy's hair you will love this. If you havent already seen it.

Denny - iPods were made for RUSH fans.....

#456 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:12AM by sully_digs [contact]

Do you think Geddy and Alex look at this and just laugh? Hey alex we sure looked goofy. How the hell did we get so successful with clothes like those? LOL

link

Looks like they shooting a VO5 spot after the show with that hair.

It is now 2:11 am

But I am hanging in till post 500
#457 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:14AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

I have laughed so hard at this kid. WindyCityGirl is this your son? If not you need to get him and your daughter together in a few years.
For 3 years old he is really good.
#460 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:21AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

actually,i live in detroit so i'm just nuts!! lol

i just got out of 10 posts jail!

we all know how alex hurt his finger in that video right? lol
#461 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:23AM by windycitygirl [contact]

ha ha ha! the questions they may ponder.

it took all that to get them where they are now....
now they are perfect, wouldn't change a thing.
alex looks great, short hair, muscles. geddy tshirt and jeans, hair under control. neil....short hair, stubborn face. perfect.

everything is under control.
#462 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:24AM by Denny Crane [contact]

Come on 500 aint that far off.

Just got done cutting up some bread for the birds. But these damn German Nazi birds keep chasing away the smaller ones. Damn, even the animals here are ruthless.

Anyway, I am so overly stoked for the live CD and DVD. All the can do is read the reviews from this leg becuase the boys ain't coming back to Europe. Nevertheless, the live CD and DVD will both be on constant rotation in Denny's House.

God Damn Nazi Birds..

Denny
#463 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:24AM by sully_digs [contact]

OK this is my last video post. But this has got to be the WORST version of Freewill I have ever heard. Someone should have stopped this from ever happening.

#464 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:28AM by driventotheedge [contact]

I took your word for it and while it was loading I came back to this site.

#459 sully....come on ha ha ha ha!
no thats not my kid. i have a girl. currently she does not play an instrument.
i dont know if i could handle a prodigy of that sort.
although, i have had thoughts of putting her on skates to play ice hockey....which is worse.
sticks for skins or pucks.
#466 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:30AM by sully_digs [contact]

God Damn Nazi Birds..
I just spit beer on my screen laughing at you post Denny. That was too funny....cutting up bread? Shit, just was it up and toss it out.

Windycitygirl I agree that RUSH are perfect. Always have been for each time era. Cant say that I got into the late 80's hair and stage show. But I was still there!!!!!
How did alex hurt his finger necromancer?
10 post jail is funny. I believe I have had one too many coors lights tonight.
#467 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:31AM by Denny Crane [contact]

sully,

That video clip ain't all "that bad". Surly not the greatest edition but I'll give these kids a small thumbs up. Kudo's to them for even trying. Freewill ain't exactly the easiest song to play.

Okay, I am off to kill some fu@king birds, and now there is somekind of strange squirrel animal chasing the Nazi Birds away. WTF this wrong with these creatures here in Germany? Years of oppression I guess...

Denny Crane
#468 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:32AM by sully_digs [contact]

I knew that wasnt your kid. Just the same age. I found that video by just scrolling through pages of videos. The 3 year old part caught my eye. Skates are fine. We need another tonya harding. just kidding... female hockey league sounds great to me. better than the WNBA..
#469 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:33AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

alex and his wife had wild sex the night before and he split it open!! i dont have anymore details than that!! lol
#470 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:37AM by Denny Crane [contact]

Just 30 away from 500.

Don't get weak in the knees on me now sully, windycity.

Necro, what up superfreak? How is your neck of the woods?
#471 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:38AM by sully_digs [contact]

Lets petition Ed to drop the posting limits on the night of shows. I was in jail there for a few minutes and lost my thoughts. I did get a laugh out of Denny and his demon possed birds. Need a shotgun?
#472 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:39AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

doing good, denny! pumped about my 3 shows this summer!
#473 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:41AM by windycitygirl [contact]

i wish alex and geddy would chase each other on stage, playing cat and mouse, like they used to -- i miss that. and i miss not hearing the three stooges at the start of the show.
those would be tour "surprises" to me this time around

hint hint.
i know those guys are reading this almost 500th post right now.
in-cog-neat-o
#474 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:43AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

we could have reached 500 alot sooner than this, thats for sure! lol

seeing them at the joe again sure brings back memories!!
#475 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:45AM by necromancer 2112 [contact]

yeah,i remember when alex would playfully bug geddy alot when he was singing! lol
#476 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:46AM by Denny Crane [contact]

Windycity,

YOur post gave me thought (even with the madcow thing)

What do you think the chances are that the "inner circle" of RUSH has people scouring the internet looking for sites just like RIAB and reading the posts/blogs? I mean, come on, they gotta have some way to get feedback on what us fans think. I think there is a very good chance that RUSH has people reading the posts from this very site. Maybe Jack Secret, or Brutus.

Thougths?

Denny
#477 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:49AM by sully_digs [contact]

There is no way that RUSH does not know about this site. I would go so far as to say that Geddy and Alex have checked it out themselves. How could you not?

Denny did you really sleep with a dwarf? Only to find out that she could be your daughter? LOL Madcow..........

I cant take anymore jail time here necromancer....

I loved the 3 stooges music also. That and Count Floyd!
#478 - Posted 4/12/08 @3:52AM by windycitygirl [contact]

denny i'm almost sure they are out there. why not.
they have a great crew. some old, some new.
the younger ones have their noses in the internet world for sure. myspace, facebook, blogs.
its how we all stay connected these days.
and why not browse the RIAB site.
this is a great page. plain and simple.
we're a great mix of real people who love Rush!

Good morning nafh,

What up in your nap of the web, uh, neck of the woods?

Just some silly thread banter here, a few posts about setlist, bad edition of Freewill, Nazi Birds, Alex's broken finger, and windycitys prodigy kid. YOu know, just the normal stuff...

Denny
