Rush Month kicks off on Planet Rock

Mon, Sep 3, 2007@10:35AM | comments removed/disabled

As I'd mentioned last week September is Rush Month on UK digital radion station Planet Rock. The station's website now has a Rush Month minisite up. As part of the celebration they will be broadcasting four exclusive interviews with the band that were recorded in San Francisco earlier this year. Each of the first three will be with one member of the band, talking about a particular period in their history and then the fourth will be bits from all three of the band member interviews (not all three members together unfortunately). The first of these interviews was with Neil Peart and aired yesterday. Reader Clive C listened in and gives the following report:

... Neil spoke in a very enthusiatic way, sounding very positive and and energetic. Among the tracks they played were 2112 (not all of it alas), Malignant Narcissism, Mystic Rhythms, Fly By Night and Circumstances. Also Crossroads and The Seeker got airplay. The highlight though was Neil's drum solo from Exit Stage Left - YYZ. They played it from the solo to the end of the track. All in all the show was a real treat, fantastic to hear Rush on the radio at the best of times but to hear an hour long special was just brilliant. ...

The interview should be up on the website for us to listen to at some point in the near future. The next interview will be next week with Geddy Lee Alex Lifeson on Sunday at 7PM UK time.
