#60- Speaking for myself....because I think it would be weird and feel awkward and I know I would be one of many "fans" who Geddy, Alex or Neil run into and I have no idea what I could possibly say that would be much different than anything they have ever heard from other Rush fans. The cliche things like "your music has meant so much to me", "you guys and your music has been so important in my life", etc, etc, blah, blahhhh....
As far as the rest of your post....huh???

No. And back to main issue. What a class of a story by Neil and happy ending like in the movies. Thanks Neil & Rush, crew and happy holidays for those who are not stressed by such things.

I understand your point and I am not sure if you were serious about Ed devising some kind system to have separate blogs for separate themes, but I highly doubt that would be feasible.
Like you, though, I don't have any desire to meet Rush, either. I just think it would feel "weird" , meeting them.
On an unrelated note. I'm not sure if there was ever anything posted or mentioned on here about how much Rush paid Aimee Mann for singing on Time Stand Still ,way back in the late 80's, but I came across an interview with Aimee Mann the other day and she was asked about singing on Time Stand Still and said Rush paid her $2000.00. This could be old news for some of you, but it was the first I saw of that. I found it to be an interesting little tidbit of trivia.
Against, simply because there is no need for it and I don't have the cash to pay for it. :)

Shark fin soup... How many for, how many against? And be sure to give a detailed reason why?
#51 - Posted 12/16/12 @5:42PM by michinman
I, myself, would love to meet them. I won't pretend otherwise. It probably will never happen and is not a huge priority anyway, but I have an old Prog magazine that would look great autographed in my den. That and a great pic.... priceless

I am glad I am not the only one who doesn't care about much other than the music. I have never even cared if I were to meet up with any of them or not, although I would love to play a round of golf with Alex but that would be all about golf and maybe a drink or 2.
#47, there used to be a separate forum! It collapsed under its own weight: there was SO MUCH petty bickering and infighting that Ed finally had to shut it down. You'd have to ask him, but I believe the effort it took to mod the thing was too great. (I'll try to find the thread that indicates when this happened - I know it was sometime just before S&A.)

I am not sure if I am alone in this thought or not and, if I am, I gladly defer to the majority. I would also like to preface my point by adding that I care not one jot about the political viewpoints of the band, nor do I have any particular interest in what any of them do, say, think, eat, or wear outside of creating the best music I have ever heard.
So, finally,to the point:
I started using this site to read about the music, the tours, and the opinions of other Rush fans on those subjects. Yet, it seems more and more, that I have to trawl through post after post of inane bickering, outraged comments from people who don't like it that the band's political or social stances differ from their own, and other such non-music related trivia.
Is it possible that we could have two separate blogs on here - one for people like me who don't give a damn about anything other than the music and the tours, and another for fans who wish to discuss other issues? Clearly there is a need and demand for both, and I would not like anyone to be excluded, but to have the two mixed is unsatisfactory.
Thank you and a happy holiday season to all.

#36 Yeah, I've mentioned the movie idea a few times also. We should all get that rumor going just in case the powers that be haven't thought of it yet. "Anything can happen" right?
#16. The dude wasn't a bad guy, he had issues. He shouldn't have had access to guns. The things should be biometrically matched to their owners who can only get them if they pass (periodic) mental health checks. IMHO. Having the things around just ups the chances of people getting hurt. The individual right to bear arms is in the constitution to help prevent the emergence of a totalitarian oppressive government, not for scared people to have them in their homes for unbalanced or upset people to find them and destroy the lives of others who have a right to live. Good time to listen to the HYF album that deals with issues of rights, fate, etc. Lock and Key, etc.
