#35 - Flimbo - ha! You one funny feller. keep em coming! I was thinking something similar... "First prize, an 8-volume set of their books; second prize, a 16-volume set!"
Bah dum bum... Tsh!
Neil's books are actually pretty good in my opinion...
It's easy to grin
When your ship comes in
And you've got the stock market beat.
But the man worthwhile,
Is the man who can smile,
When his shorts are too tight in the seat.
#32...I guess all I can say to your ditch digger comment is..."How about a Fresca?"
I agree, it is what it is, and whatever. I guess I expected more from the sampler and I was honestly surprised at the simplicity of the prose. Given that I have never read Anderson's works I didn't have any concept of his writing style.
And I'm sorry everyone, the lyric references seemed forced. I don't recall specifically but he referred to the smoke of the moving steamliner as being like "the breath of a sleeping white dragon". The lyric, of course, referred the the MOTIONLESS space shuttle and he applied it to the MOVING steamliner. Since when does a sleeping dragon hurtle along at however many miles an hour? The reference doesn't make sense in context and I was annoyed when I read it.
OK, so call me highbrow or whatever, I don't care. I will still read it to gain better context on the album but I think Anderson did himself a disservice by acting too much like a fanboy and not enough like a novelist, at least from what I read.
For what it's worth, that's my $0.02. And no, I really don't know why this bothers me so much! I'd much rather be discussing the setlist...

I am a happy Rush fan today! I finally received my copy of the Clockwork angels book in the mail from Amazon. Now I can finally figure what the album is all about.
#39 if you're not worried about trying to find the ticket there is always kindle or the itunes store. The iPad version has the full color images in it...

Went to my local Chapters store last night hoping to pick up Clockwork Angels. They didn't have any in stock. Sold out? Nope! They hadn't received any. An employee checked and said they had 15 on order and to check back in a couple of days. I did a search for other stores (I'm outside of Toronto so checked most of the Greater Toronto Area stores - 23 stores). ZERO copies everywehre except the store where Kevin J. Anderson did his book signing a couple of weeks ago. They have 95 copies. Brutal distribution.
The golden ticket winners will be able to redeem them for an 8 volume Kevin J Anderson and Neil Peart library... So that would be the booby prize then?

Sorry Ed, I should have held my tongue.
