A couple of months ago I let you know about an interesting casting call from Toronto casting agency Jigsaw Casting that was posted to their Facebook group page calling for Rush band member look-a-likes ages 15-19 for a short mock-u-mentary film on the early days of Rush. From the description:

...You could be featured in an upcoming short film about the band RUSH...

Jigsaw Casting Ltd. is looking for Rush band member look-a-likes and/or musicians in the age range of 15 - 19 yrs of age who fit the following characteristics to be featured in an upcoming short film about the history of the band RUSH. This film is based on the true story of the band. This is a comedic mock-u-mentary that explores the roots of the band, as told by each member. Starring the real Geddy, Alex and Neil as well as comedic actors to play them in their formative years.

Looking for look-a-likes and/or musicians to portray Rush Band members
(Age: approx 15- 19yrs)
Play bass, guitar, Drums - if you look like any of the members but do not play an instrument, please still submit. (The only character needed to have musical skills is Peart, the drummer)
Have a 1960's - 70's Band look - long hair is great but do not limit
Looking for teenage look-a-likes of the Rush band members
(**bassist, keyboardist, and lead vocalist Geddy Lee, guitarist Alex Lifeson, and drummer and lyricist Neil Peart who will appear in the film) ...

We speculated at the time that this film was likely for use as part of Rush's stage show on the Time Machine Tour and I was able to later confirm this. The actual casting call took place last month from May 11th-18th. Reader Mark's son tried out for the part of a young Neil Peart but unfortunately did not get the part. However, he did hang on to a copy of the script they had him read and passed it along to me. I'm not sure whether this script will ultimately appear in the video or if it was strictly for the auditions. So there are possible spoilers in it. If you want to check out the script you can do so below the fold (Possible *SPOILER*).

OPEN ON:

The guys in rehearsal, rocking out.
NEIL is lock into a solid groove.
ALEX has his eyes closed, grinning dreamily, lost in music.
GEDDY is looking unhappy. He stops playing and waves his arms around.

GEDDY

Hold it...hold it...
(Frustrated that the others don't stop)
HOLD IT ALREADY!
They stop.

GEDDY
Thank you.

ALEX
(Cheerfully)
You're welcome!

NEIL
Why'd we stop, Gary?

GEDDY
It's Geddy!

ALEX
Sorry.

GEDDY
Why are you apologizing?

ALEX
You're right. I'm sorry.

NEIL
Why'd we stop?

GEDDY
Um, because it sucked?

ALEX
I thought it was awesome!
(Two big thumbs up)

NEIL
Me too. We sound way better than KISS.

GEDDY
Well gee, that's encouraging. Look, let's just try a new tune. Here's something I've been working on...
He hands out some sheet music. The guys look it over.

NEIL
"Lakeside Pork"?

ALEX
AWESOME
