UPDATE - 3/30@9:56AM: Here's a Canadian Press article with some backstage interview snippets:

... "You know, music lives beyond tragedy, beyond anything that can happen in your life. One thing we've learned over the last 10 years is that music is still a part of us, and so to play it now with someone as young and exciting as Annika, it's just another tribute to him," Lee said, speaking to reporters in the media room with guitarist Alex Lifeson.

"I think he'd be very pleased with our choice of drummer, and I think he would have a bit of a smirk on his face. A thumbs up, I hope," Lee added.

"We've been rehearsing with her on and off for about a year now. And now it's very comfortable and she's expressing her personality, which is nice to see. A fantastic person, lovely, easy to work with ... we consider ourselves so fortunate because she was really the only drummer we tried to work with and she's just been perfect for us. And she fires us up. She's a bonus." ...

UPDATE - 3/29@8:13PM: Rush did indeed perform! They opened up the show with a rendition of Finding My Way with a video backdrop of Rush through the years. So surreal to see them back playing live again. I'm guessing they might end up presenting an award at some point in the show too. Thanks to Jillian at Rushcon who has been reporting live from the show.

UPDATE - 3/29@11:25AM: The JUNO Awards will be broadcast live on YouTube via the CBC Music channel at this location:

The 2026 Juno Awards will be held tomorrow night at the TD Coliseum in Hamilton, Ontario, celebrating the best in Canadian music. Hosted by Mae Martin, the 55th annual ceremony will air on CBC, featuring performances by The Beaches, Arkells, and Daniel Caesar, who is also receiving the International Achievement Award. There has been much speculation in the lead up to the event that Rush might somehow be involved, and according to a number of online sources, that seems to be the case. From the CBC (thanks Will C):

... Legendary rock band Rush has hinted at "something special" happening at the 2026 Juno Awards, taking place in Hamilton on Sunday. "We want to let you in on something," the band wrote in a newsletter to fans. "Celebrate a special moment with Geddy & Alex." That cryptic message was followed by a link to buy tickets to the Junos on Sunday, March. 29. ...

In addition to that, the JUNO Awards put up a post on Instagram showing Rush's 1975 JUNO Award for Most Promising Group with the caption, What a promising year... 👀 3/29/2026 at 8PM ET.
