Kevin J. Anderson and Neil Peart working on sequel to Clockwork Angels titled Clockwork Lives

Sun, Aug 24, 2014@2:21PM | comments

UPDATE - 8/24@5:35PM: So it sounds like Clockwork Lives won't necessarily be a sequel to Clockwork Angels but instead will be featuring minor characters from Clockwork Angels and expanding on their stories (thanks Kelly D).

UPDATE - 8/24@3:57PM: I had missed this before, but Anderson actually announced via his Facebook page (and at RushCon) the details behind the 2113 novella last night:

For those of you NOT lucky enough to be at Rushcon, I made an announcement this afternoon about an anthology of Rush-based stories I'll be coediting with John McFetridge for ECW (publishers of Clockwork Angels). We have a gang of award-winning and bestselling authors already lined up to contribute stories based on Rush songs. And I'll be doing a novella called "2113".

Clockwork Angels author Kevin J. Anderson promised earlier this week that he'd be making a big announcement (or two) during his speaking appearance at RushCon this afternoon. The RushCon Facebook page just posted a short video of Anderson making the announcement which you can check out below or at this link. The big news is that he and Neil Peart are about one third of the way through writing a sequel to Clockwork Angels titled Clockwork Lives. Anderson even read the first couple of pages to the RushCon attendees. As far as the 2nd announcement goes, yesterday evening longtime RIAB member and RushCon 14 attendee Kelly D tweeted out the following news that she received from Anderson:

BREAKING: @TheKJA to release novella called "2113" in @rushtheband story anthology @cygnusx1net @rushisaband

It's not clear whether Anderson elaborated on this news during his appearance or not. Anderson then posted some details later in the evening via his Facebook page:

For those of you NOT lucky enough to be at Rushcon, I made an announcement this afternoon about an anthology of Rush-based stories I'll be coediting with John McFetridge for ECW (publishers of Clockwork Angels). More news as we learn it.
