The Montreal Guitar Trio cover Rush's Tom Sawyer on new album Der Prinz

The Montreal Guitar Trio will be releasing their 6th album Der Prinz next week. The album contains an all guitar, acoustic cover of Rush's Tom Sawyer which you can check out below or on YouTube here (thanks Joel L and SaskRushFan). The album will be officially launched at a concert for the Montréal en Lumière Festival on February 20, 2014 at L'Astral, and will be available on iTunes and in stores this coming Tuesday, February 18th. The CD will also release via Amazon in the US a month later on March 18th.

To #2 Daveh, I share your sentiment. However, it is not an exact copy. For one thing, the vocals are added in via mandolin. Further, not every note is exact. In certain places, they also use their guitar lines to imitate the percussion (not talking about the blatant hand drumming, which is also awesome). What they capture - to me, better than any other cover - is the voice, spirit and energy of the song. Masterful.
