Alex Lifeson guest appearance on John Wesley album Disconnect

Thu, Feb 6, 2014@1:15PM | comments

Guitarist John Wesley is likely best known to Rush fans as the touring guitarist for Porcupine Tree, but he's also an accomplished solo musician in his own right. He'll be releasing his latest album Disconnect next month and just revealed via his Facebook page that Alex Lifeson performs a mind-blowing guitar solo on the track Once a Warrior:

7 years ago I was fortunate enough to meet and spend some time with one of my early guitar heroes, Alex Lifeson of RUSH. He's been a HUGE influence on my guitar playing throughout the years, and he's also one of the kindest human beings you'll ever meet.

Now, 7 years later, he's performed a MIND-BLOWING guitar solo on my song, 'Once a Warrior.'

I'm so happy to have Alex on my new album, 'Disconnect,' and I can't wait for you to hear it!

Disconnect will be available in Europe and the UK on March 31st, and on April 1st in the US via InsideOut Music. For more information visit John's website here or follow him on Facebook or Twitter. Alex Lifeson played a guest guitar solo on Porcupine Tree's Fear of a Blank Planet on the track Anesthetize back in 2007. We also just found out yesterday of another Alex Lifeson guest appearance; Alex plays guitar and executive produced Keram Malicki-Sanchez's new album Come to Life.
