UPDATE - 9/10@5:26PM: Here's some YouTube video of the Rush mention (thanks Darren P):

----- snip -----

As we speak Apple is holding a live event where they are expected to introduce the new iPhone 5s and 5c. They are also going over several of the new features of iOS 7. It is being live-blogged on, and at about 1:15PM when Apple senior vice president of Software Engineering Craig Federighi was demonstrating to the audience how to make an iTunes radio station, they used Rush as their example! They mentioned that they were going to show (via creating a Rush radio station) how to get a pure dose of awesome. The CNET liveblogger also remarked that, "Never have I heard so much applause for Rush!" You can follow the live blog here and see a photo of the Rush reference here. Thanks to Michael M and Jodeo for the heads up.

#14 I wondered the same thing, nothing was particularly funny. Guess I would have expected some "fist pumping" so I have to believe that tragically they must not be Rush fans.

Our finnish Kimi is the "newborn" James Hunt. Yes, I was wondering the name too, no Rush music in it :( wtf..

Anybody see an ad for the new Ron Howard film called Rush? WTF. I thought they had their name trademarked. Did they give permission? Any lawyers out there?

Yeah, i'd say there was some serious Brubeck channeling happening in Le Studio that day - wow!

Good call on the "Blue Rondo a la Turk" .... a quantum leap forward...

Yep !
Home of the conversion van...

On the other topic, one could say Rush copied Dave Brubeck's
"Blue Rondo a la Turk" for Natural Science, but we all know better.

FM's album Con Test was more radio friendly but the tune "The Only Way To Win" was pretty good and I remember they warmed up for Rush for the Power Windows tour and that tune sounded really great live. 1986 Maple Leaf Gardens. I was 20... ahh those were the days.

#30 - good ole Elkhart, Indiana!! My only memory with that town is back in 1992 i had to climb up 3 huge silos performing an inventory observation for a plastics manufacturer our accounting firm was auditing. Not a fun experience - but i did get a killer view of all the amish farms in the surrounding area.
