Anthrax's Anthems EP featuring a cover of Rush's Anthem now available for pre-order

UPDATE - 2/17@6:24PM: Here's Charlie Benante discussing the track for a track-by-track analysis of the EP (thanks RushFanForever):

...For the EP, I didn't want to go into the latter part of Rush. It would have been very easy to pick something from Moving Pictures or Permanent Waves, but that, to me, would have been obvious. Anthem could have been a song that we played on our first album. It has that kind of vibe; it's got all the elements. To me, it stood out as the right choice."

Thrash metal pioneers Anthrax will be including a cover of Rush's Anthem on their upcoming tribute EP Anthems. The EP is slated for release on March 19th and is now available for pre-order at this location. A few weeks ago made the track available for streaming online at this location and apparently Rush themselves have given it their stamp of approval. Anthrax's Charlie Benante recently told Classic Rock magazine the following:

... Benante is delighted to report that Rush congratulated Anthrax on their cover of the Canadian's track Anthem. ... "We actually got some feedback from Rush. It was awesome because it was 100 percent positive. Someone sent it to them and it was Alex Lifeson that wrote back and said how much they enjoyed it. It was pretty awesome." ...

You can pre-order the Anthems EP on Amazon at this location.

Anyone give this a listen? Seems to me from a technical standpoint Anthrax did a darn good job but don't these guys ever record themselves and have a listen? Sure seems like the tempo is everywhere in this....

Love pastrami, especially in a blizzard...

I used to like pastrami, but it had caused me to have very severe heartburn. Therefore, I haven't eaten any in over 25 years.
