Audio Fidelity to release Rush's Counterparts on SACD
According to their Club newsletter, Audio Fidelity will be releasing an SACD (Super Audio CD) version of Rush's Counterparts next month along with an SACD of Yes's Close to the Edge. These will be the company's first SACD releases in over 10 years. There was no specific release date given (it just says December) and there isn't any listing at the company's website as of yet, but you can view the advertisement included in the newsletter here. Thanks to Mark D for the heads up.

Note that this is a hybrid CD/SACD. It should still play in any CD player, so it might be better to consider this a new Audio Fidelity CD release, similar to their recent treatment of "Roll the Bones." I have an SACD player (that also handles DVD-A and BluRay), and the Pixies SACDs sound quite good (and are also hybrid releases). That said, it does seem a little weird that they wouldn't just release this as a BluRay, high-bit stereo. Perhaps they aren't allowed to do that. That is, the label might have its own plans to encourage to pay for the same albums over and over and over until the year 2112.
Why the hell are they releasing it in a dead format like SACD? DVD-A didn't take off either, but at least it can be played on most computers and DVD players.
Kick Ass.
I hope this edition corrected the glitch that was on the original CD that sounded something like "ahhhh yes to yes, ahhhhhhhh to yes".
yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will sound awesome on my 7.1 system
So totally STOKED for this one! My favorite album...

They're claiming December. Fingers crossed!
