70: "#54 - Dude !!!! Your reply is so wrong on so many different levels I don't know where to start, so I won't start"

The reason you 'don't know where to start' is that I am completely right. It is common courtesy to do what everyone else around you is doing, if by failing to do so you spoil the enjoyment of the concert for everyone behind you. I don't care HOW big a Rush fan you are, you do NOT need to stand to enjoy the show, if the price of doing so is that you ruin it for the person behind you. You just don't.

*Also, reading comprehension appears to be a lost art these days. I mention my knowledge of the Peart canon not because I think I am Peart (duh), but because I think I am a big fan of this band.... HOWEVER, I do NOT think that my fandom gives me license to spoil the show for the people behind me. They paid $150 to see the band, not my ass wiggling in their face.

mars on the horizon - is that you holding the sign asking for a trade for the 747s? your picture is under the "official photos" for that show if that's indeed, you. Congrats!

Forgot about this info a fb friend posted on 10/8 after talking to a VIP rep on the phone:

There was a delay in mailing out the packages due to a manufacturing problem of one of the items in the package, unforeseen by them. They now have that sorted out and they will be mailing out the packages this week in chronological order of the date of the shows. The t-shirt in the package is BLACK!

And the wait continues...

Yo, #71/Mars CONGRATS!!! That's awesome. What did your sign say??

Still waiting for the VIP nation couple weeks after the Edmonton show. same email as #67 above. I bet ya they are FOB Chonqing Gianzou China and the emails are outsouced from the Phillipines. Theres nothing VIP about the whole process and Ill give em a few more weeks before I start a small claims action and get my whole 650 bucks back.

My sincere thanks to Michael (Rush's head of security) for handing me a pair of Neil's used drum sticks from Tuesday night's show in Toronto. (I guess Neil liked my sign!) What an amazing night!

#54 - Dude !!!! Your reply is so wrong on so many different levels I don't know where to start, so I won't start. I will send a touche to #56 "The Peacemaker", and leave it at that. Thanks KJbird, the bringer of balance between heart and mind.

Disclaimer: I have never professed in any way, shape, or form to be a drummer, or accomplished in the art of any musical instrument, but there are a lot of people on here who are, so carry on.

At a Rush concert, a seat in simply a geographical location you are desigated to.

At a Rush concert, SEAT = Stand, Enjoy, Air Things (with other things). SEAT !!!

#54 - were you the guy they made the movie about air-drumming about? Stand a pedestal much? Jeez - nobody cares if you're a damn combination of Neil, Terry Bozio, Dave Weckl, and Buddy Rich. Get over yourself already.

Good to know that if something should happen to Neil, you can fill in and save the day. Yes - that is intended sarcasm....

#67 Cajava thanks for info. im hoping that my vip package is "swiftly" shipped before nov. 3 thanks again RUSH ON
#67 - Posted 10/18/12 @6:40AM by Cajava [contact]

Hey Bravado, I emailed VIP nation on Oct 1 inquiring as to when VIP packages would be mailed and on Oct 15th I got this reply:

Hello Ellen,

We sincerely apologize for the delay. We are kitting our packages today and will begin shipments tomorrow. We will ship as swiftly as possible, grouping shipments according to concert date and number of packages ordered. We appreciate your patience, you will be receiving it soon.

Best,
Bobbi
Your VIP Nation Team

It only took them 2 weeks to respond (really? that long?) and I would have liked something more concise than "shipping as swiftly as possible" but it looks like we will receive them "soon". Maybe. :)

I remember a bunch of us sitting around watching the World premiere for that video
Subdivisions .Funny! really that song is so huge for Rush .It is an anthem for them.Everyone seems to love that song .I remember my daughter at about 7 years old coming out of the garage saying these guys are really jamming as I was listening to it working in the front yard .The videos image meanings are so well done and have such great meaning to what Rush stands for in many ways(accept the lighting when the band plays is dark) .Their true values and expressed the way they felt about their life and how everyone was following this pre determined path of the same thing their parents were .How they felt a bit outcast in school.Along with Neils other observations in the mix (just to feel the living nite). The album cover ,the sleeve how that map ties in to those lyrics and makes you think .The dog on the grass .The grass looks like artificial turf and that ties into the lyrics to Grand Designs.Hard to recognize the real thing that comes along once in a while .Alot of times its easy to recognize the real thing because everything is built so crappy now days .Its shocking to find good anything that people have taken their time with and made it well .Not to mention Geddys super awesome bass tone on that song .That bass tone is my all time favorite Geddy Lee bass tone .Iam a longtime bass player and to me that is "The Tone"!!!!!!.Then top it off with how the song just builds into this whirlwind of progressive aggressive awesomeness and just makes me go absolutely crazy even when I end up right next to the stage with the sitters .Thats when I get the junk outta the trunk and say ok Lerxst hit me man hit me and give the ultimate cheer!no matter what they say No matter what they say .Everyday people everyday shame I dont care if you think going nutz is lame because tomorrow morning the sun raises from the ashes and flames of no Rush concert until next time .
