I found a picture of me on the The StarPhoenix (Saskatoon's Newspaper) gallery for the Rush concert. Pretty sure this is when I was texting my friend telling him he was missing the second set lol.
Howdy trigger
Glad you enjoyed your Indianapolis gig and that the strings rocked. I had no doubt that they would. Much better to have live music rather than a triggered sample. I too am looking forward to my Manchester gig next year AND my Sheffield gig.
My wife and I are holidaying in New York and Toronto in two weeks time but wouldn't you know it?... when we're in NY the band are in Toronto and vice versa :-((
I remember that gig at the Empire in '78 like it was yesterday. I was 17!
Cheers la!
Liver.
Hey Liver
As a fellow Brit and, I imagine from the same county as you ? Merseyside?, I was sceptical about the strings. I really thought that they would detract from the performance or at least add little to an already extraordinary band. However .... I was lucky enough to mix a bit of pleasure with business and got to see the show in Indianapolis and I have to tell you the strings rocked ! Not only did they all get into the music & the sound mix allowed the strings to shine (especially YYZ which surprised me) but Geddy, Alex and Neil all seemed to interact with the ensemble to the benefit of the overall spectacle.
I should also add that imho the light show was the best I have seen at a Rush concert since I first ventured to the Liverpool Empire in 1978 at the age of 13 !
I bought the book at the show and have just finished it absolutely brilliant and gives the album a new dimension.
Can't wait for Manchester next year!

#26 who was 3rd band on 1st Rush gig with Uriah Heap?
Manfred Mann
In St. Louis I think the strings made the show. They should be used for the whole show.
People that complain about CA and strings on tour are just simply clueless. No one cares what they think anyway. If they don't like the album, or don't go because of strings, it's their loss, they are missing out and therefore they can GFT!
@18&19: I am with you.
Strings ensemble deserves much more attention.
mpls show amazing! Been on every tour since MP-excellent show- i liked setlist-I don't care what they play as long as they keep playing i will go-vocals, sound, staging all incredible-if you get chance go- Next show Phoenix (much to wifes dismay) don't care-she aint goin Hey mr Cell-o was right behind you in Mpls- who was 3rd band on 1st Rush gig with Uriah Heap?
#20 I can't say much about lack of posts from concert goers (I still have a full month to wait til I can go), but my recollection about RIAB members commenting when CA came out was that there were only a few very vocal members that really didn't like it. It just seemed like a lot because some commented many times as totally uncalled for flame wars started up. (You can't argue someone into liking something they don't like, and if they're trolling then the best thing to do to get them to go away is ignore them).
Back home now in Edmonton. Front row was amazing! I added a bunch of pictures to the gallery.
