Geddy Lee awarded with Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee commemorative medal
This past Monday night at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto, Geddy Lee along with over 600 other distinguished Ontario residents were recipients of a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee commemorative medal. The special medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen's accession to the throne. From Cashbox Magazine:
... Commemorative medals were presented to distinguished Ontario residents who have already been invested with the Order of Canada and Order of Ontario. All living Order of Canada and Order of Ontario recipients were invited. It is unusual for these recipients to come together in one place said The Honourable Ontario Lt. Governor David Onley.
Lt. Governor Onley, Governor General David Johnson and other prominent Canadians presented the prestigious awards. CBC Anchor Peter Mansbridge hosted the gala and also received a medal. ...
Thanks to RushFanForever for the heads up.

I hate Metal Nazis more. Don't even get me started on Metal Medal Nazis.
I hate Medal Nazis.
It does say "All living Order of Canada and Order of Ontario recipients were invited." So if Neil and Alex declined, then maybe the Medal Nazi said "No Medal for You !"
He gets it because Ged's the "frontman," although the idea hardly applies in the case of Rush?
And what about the living dead ones? No love for the Canadian zombie apocalypse?
I'm sad that they only invited only the "living Order of Canada recipients"...I mean, the dead ones must feel left out.
I'm guessing Neil and Alex were invited but couldn't make it (unless one also had to be a current Ontario resident, in which case Neil wouldn't qualify).
Fthird !!!! finally
First. Finally. Way to go, Geddy!
