Happy birthday Alex Lifeson!

UPDATE - 8/29@9:53AM: In celebration of Big Al's birthday, Ultimate Classic Rock posted their list of the 5 Best Alex Lifeson Rush Songs (thanks RushFanForever).

On this day back in 1953, our favorite guitarist - Alexandar Zivojinovich (aka Alex Lifeson) - was born in Fernie, British Columbia. He turns 58 today which makes him the youngest member of Rush, being born about a month after Geddy Lee and just under a year after Neil. Next up is Neil, who'll turn 59 on September 12th. In honor of this occasion here's a video taken from the Alan King documentary Come on Children of a young Alex Lifeson arguing with his parents over his future as a musician back in 1972. Happy birthday Lerxst! May you have many more.

There's also this from John over at Cygnus-X1.net:

In celebration of Alex's 58th birthday, Jonathan Alan Hill spearheaded a movement to have fans supply what they felt were some of Alex's finest songs; creating a playlist for his birthday. Jonathan coordinated the effort over at the Cygnus-X1.Net Facebook Group Page.

Additionally, Ken Shipley of RushRadio.Org will be featuring the selected playlist beginning at 11 AM CST on the 27th.

The playlist includes tracks from nearly every Rush album and highlights Alex incredible abilities over the decades. Many thanks to Jonathan, Ken, Kelly, and all the folks that participated with this tribute to our favorite guitarist.
