Rush to Creativity 1986 educational marketing campaign press release

UPDATE - 4/29@8:02AM: Reader Jaybird scanned a copy of the 6-page packet for us which you can check out by clicking on the thumbnails.

Here's a little-known interesting tidbit of Rush history to tide everyone over until the tour cranks up again. Just over 25 years ago back in 1986 Rush's record company at the time - Mercury/Polygram - apparently teamed up with a company called Lifetime Learning Systems to create an educational and marketing campaign called Rush to Creativity. I remember hearing about this back in the '90s but had never come across any evidence of it ever occurring until reader Greg N recently sent me a copy of the original press release announcing the campaign. From the press release:

... The two companies have combined efforts to distribute a free motivational learning kit entitled "RUSH to Creativity" to every public high school in America. Nearly 18,000 institutions will receive this integrative campaign, reaching 5-6 million students. A lesson plan for English curriculum is offered, with supplements for creative writing exercises, which utilizes lyrics from the group's latest hit album Power Windows. A promotional RUSH poster is included in the package. ...

Apparently this was Lifetime Learning Systems' debut collaboration with a record company and the campaign was even advertised on MTV according to some reports. The packet itself consists of about 6 pages of material. If anyone happens to have a copy of the packet, please let us know. You can check out the press release scans by clicking on the thumbnails above (page 1, page 2).
