Tue, Apr 13, 2010@8:00AM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 4/15@11:21AM: There is a radio pre-sale until tomorrow at 5PM (local venue time) for both the Chicago show sponsored by WLUP. The password is LOOP. There's also a Live Nation pre-sale going on with a password of POPSTAR.

UPDATE - 4/15@10:35AM: There is a radio pre-sale today until 5PM (local venue time) for both the Jones Beach and PNC Bank Center shows sponsored by Q104.3 (thanks ReGorLaTroy). The password is RADIO.

UPDATE - 4/15@7:32AM: There is a radio pre-sale today at 10AM (local venue time) for the Red Rocks show sponsored by 103.5 The Fox. The password is MOVING.

UPDATE - 4/14@12:27PM: The Chicago Music Today pre-sale is now closed.

UPDATE - 4/14@7:18AM: The White River Amphitheatre Music Today pre-sale is sold at as well (thanks TMMB).

UPDATE - 4/13@6:50PM: It looks like the Red Rocks Music Today pre-sale is now sold out as well.

UPDATE - 4/13@6:42PM: Looks like Music Today snuck a Sarnia Bayfest pre-sale in too, and the New York State Fair show as well. Both are now on the clock!

UPDATE - 4/13@5:16PM: It looks like the Mohegan Sun Music Today pre-sale has already sold out (thanks skl183). It's not clear how long the Music Today pre-sales will run this time around (they don't list the end times), but judging on how they were conducted last tour they would end 2 days after the start at 12PM or whenever they sell out.

UPDATE - 4/13@12:19PM: It looks like the Minnesota State Fair was a last-minute add-on for the Music Today pre-sales too! These are currently on sale at the Music Today website.

UPDATE - 4/13@10:30AM: The Rush VIP ticket package information has been updated and now includes a Limited Edition Rush CD Single (includes two new songs off the upcoming album)!

UPDATE - 4/13@10:24AM: The Summerfest show in Milwaukee has been added to the pre-sales for today. And Rush.com finally sent out an official mailing announcing the Music Today pre-sale which has details regarding a special tour package and meet-and-greet contest:

UPDATE - 4/13@10:09AM: After exploring some of the pre-sales it looks like the Rush VIP Premium Ticket Package runs around $300-350 depending on the venue. When you go to purchase tickets via Live Nation you end up getting redirected to Ticketmaster, so I'll be updating all my Live Nation links to Ticketmaster.

UPDATE - 4/13@9:45AM: Music Today added a few more pre-sales for today:

Tue, Jun 29: Hard Rock Pavilion - Albuquerque, NM
Mon, Jul 19: Mohegan Sun Arena - Uncasville, CT
Sat, Aug 7: White River Amphitheatre - Auburn, WA
Mon, Aug 9: Shoreline Amphitheatre - Mountain View, CA

----- snip -----

UPDATE - 4/13@9:12AM: Ok... this is ridiculous. The Rush Music Today site now has pre-sales listed on the site beginning at 10AM local venue time today for the following dates; which means in less than an hour for all but the Red Rocks and Chicago shows!

Mon, Jul 5: Charter One Pavilion - Chicago, IL
Fri, Jul 23: Saratoga Performing Arts Center - Saratoga Springs, NY
Sat, Jul 24: Nikon at Jones Beach Theater - Wantagh, NY
Mon, Aug 16: Red Rocks Amphitheatre - Morrison, CO
Fri, Sep 3: PNC Bank Arts Center - Holmdel, NJ

Keep in mind that neither Rush.com nor Music Today has even made any type of official announcement that these pre-sales exist. Sheesh...

Pre-sales for the Rush Time Machine Tour begin today for several dates including Albuquerque, Summerfest, Chicago, Mohegan Sun, SPAC, Jones Beach, White River, Shoreline, Red Rocks and PNC Bank. There has still been no word from Rush or Music Today regarding fan pre-sales, despite the fact that the Rush Music Today site is in the process of being revamped with Time Machine Tour graphics. So today's pre-sales will be CITI credit card pre-sales and the mysterious Rush VIP pre-sales. The CITI pre-sales are pretty straightforward; you simply need to use a CITI credit card to purchase your tickets and enter the first 6 digits of your a valid CITI credit card account number as your passcode (you don't actually have to purchase the tickets with a CITI card). Unfortunately there is still very little info regarding the Rush VIP pre-sales - specifically the cost. Typically the way these things work is that you simply need to be willing to pay a lot of extra money for the tickets, which will guarantee you a seat within the first 15 rows along with a package of Rush swag. You don't need to sign up for anything or enter a password; you just need deep pockets (typically a few hundred dollars). All we have to go on at this point is this page from the TicketMaster site:

See Rush as a VIP!

Package includes:
* One premium, reserved ticket located within the first 15 rows of the stage
* Specially Designed Rush Concert Shirt
* Collectible Tour Poster (limited edition, numbered)
* Official Rush Tour Program
* Copy of the new Rush DVD, "Beyond the Light of the Stage"
* Copy of the Rush CD, "Working Men"
* Set of official Rush guitar picks

Adding to the confusion is the fact that some of the dates are listed at both Live Nation and Ticketmaster. I'm really not sure if one is more official than the other or if it matters at all which one you use. Ticketmaster seems to have more information but only a few dates listed, while Live Nation has all the dates listed but with less information. What makes it even more of a mess is that the pre-sale times don't always match up between the 2 vendors. For instance, Live Nation has a Rush VIP pre-sale for the Albuquerque show listed starting tomorrow, while Ticketmaster has it listed for today. Yikes! I'll go with Ticketmaster whenever there's more information listed, but I suggest checking both sites just to be sure. Pre-sales which (presumably) begin today at 10AM local venue time are:
