Tour attendance and sales figures update

Thu, May 29, 2008@10:27AM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 5/29@2:51PM: Oops. Looks like the Puerto Rico show actually was the highest-grossing, not Vegas. PR was reported much earlier than the others so I'd overlooked it.

The official Billboard Boxscore attendance and sales figures for the first part of the tour were released yesterday. All shows up through May 11th - with the exception of the April 17th show in Jacksonville - have reported numbers. Keep in mind that the capacity figures reported do not correspond to the actual physical capacity of the venue; it reflects the number of tickets that were made available to be sold. That said, both the Sunrise and Reno shows were sold out although the Reno show was also the least attended with 6,114 tickets sold. The numbers for the 2 Nokia shows in LA were lumped together for some reason so I simply split those down the middle. Therefore it's not really clear how each show did individually. But from anecdotal evidence it's pretty clear that the 1st show was the better-attended one. That would mean that the 2nd show probably sold under 4000 seats making it the unofficial least-attended show. Clearly the most-attended show was the New Orleans show on April 20th and the highest-grossing was the May 10th show in Vegas. Many thanks to Mark S and Habs2112 for providing the numbers. I've added the figures to the tour section, each individual show's open thread and also repeated them here.
